Nathan T.Our outdoor spigot burst over the bad winter that we had, plus I forget to shut the water off this past fall. Ut oh! Well, luckily, as soon as I called Roto-Rooter (on a sunday!), they sent a technician out right away! Alex was here in an hour and the problem was fixed in an hour or two! Very nice gentleman and knew what he was talking about! I highly recommend Roto Rooter on Longshore Ave!
Marcus Erik G.Yes Roto - Rooter stayed at my home for eight hours until the job was done correctly and guarnteed their work. Lol my only problem is that they do not clean up after themselves .
Had a clogged kitchen sink and a slow-draining bathroom sink. I informed the technician that I used Drano the previous morning to no avail. Technician checked both sinks, went in the basement, then proceeded to tell me he could not use a snake but would use a machine (pump) to open/clean the pipes...for $355.00 per sink!! RIDICULOUS! Expressed my outrage and he aksed what I was willing to pay, even offered a $100.00 discount. Needless to say I chose another plumber. Paid less than half for what he offered for one sink. New plumber even changed the rusty pipe under the sink! Will never consider Roto Rooter in the future.
I thought my downspouts were clogged since I had dampness in my basement. Sarge (the best) came out to check them and told me that it wasn't worth having them roto-rootered since the blockages were small and the problem was elsewhere. He saved me ALOT of money. He had also been out for a clogged toilet a couple of years ago and couldn't have been nicer or more professional!
I was very happy with the professionalism of the tech that fixed my basket strainer for my kitchen sink. Also, they arrived within an hour of placing the service call. The total cost of repair was over $300 which was very high, however, I was very satisfied with the work.
Total waste of time. I had a drain backed up and flooding into my basement - not a raging emergency, but troubling (and gross).
Called Roto-Rooter and got the run around a couple of times. They blew off the 4 hour window they gave me for the service technician, lied to me twice on the phone afterwards about the guy being almost ready to be there, and because I took them at their word, ended up waiting past 2AM (too late to call another plumbing service.)
So, I basically had to call them to verify someone was still coming, got lied to by some lady with zero phone skills, and sat through the night with no answers and a basement nearly as full of sh*t as their service.
DO NOT USE.
Chris O.This company will look to charge you nearly 2-3 times more for the same service any private company can offer. I had a pipe back up and I had no idea what to do, someone suggested that I call roto rooter and I did, I regret this decision now. I was charged just over $400 to have a pipe in the front of my house ""blasted"" which literally took the technician about 5 minutes to complete.
After this he then tried to sell me a $4500 dollar job and told me not to worry about the money since they could help me get financed for the amount. The following day I found a local plumber and he said he normally charges $125 for the service I had completed and roto-rooter always tries to sell the expensive jobs and uses their notability to convince customers that the job needs to get ASAP. BUYER BEWARE with this company.
Johnny R.I was served by a technician named Thea. He was awesome! He showed up on time and began to work on my drain problem. He ran the snake at the main vent for about 30 minutes and when he couldn't get anywhere he tried an access point in the garage and still couldn't clear the drain but he didn't give up he found the problem to be sludge blocking the drain. He didn't give up and cleared the drain after 2 hours on the job. Through all of this he was very courteous and professional. He was very empathetic made sure she cleaned up after himself. This is my 2nd experience with Roto Rooter this year and they've gotten to the bottom of the problem every time. I would have no problem recommending them, especially Thea for his professionalism. I also have to mention the dispatcher, she found my prior call info and was helpful & respectful over the phone.
I had a toilet that was clogging every two weeks or so, even with minimal toilet paper. My plumber friend said it needed to be snaked allllll the way down for a possible clog, but he doesn't have the machine. So I called roto rooter. Oh boy. The plumber used a hand auger 1-2 feet max and pulled up a broken piece of black circular plastic and said, here's your clog. We explained that we had been told it needed to be snaked all the way down, but he insisted that was the problem. We were suspicious and couldn't understand how a piece of plastic ended up in the toilet since we don't have small children. But he's the professional, so we believed him.
They only insure their work for 2 weeks. Lo and behold, after their guarantee ended, it clogged again. Called roto rooter. Plumber came out and said we needed a new toilet (ours was 2 yrs old!). We asked if he'd snake it (deeper, of course), and he said he'd have to charge us again. Besides, he said, we needed a new toilet. Called my plumber to install new toilet (was not going to call roto rooter again to charge an arm and a leg and not even fix the problem.) By the way, when he took off the old toilet, we figured out what that black plastic was from. The roto rooter plumber had broken the flange, because a chunk was missing from it.
3 months after the new toilet was installed, it started clogging too, and now the shower and sink were not draining. Called my plumber again. He said it's the main drain and it needs to be snaked all the way down. He was AMAZED that roto rooter hadn't done this. Had to call another plumber to come and FINALLY do the job roto rooter was too lazy to do. It was tree roots. All in all, this cost me $1200, all bc roto rooter was too lazy/didn't want/didnt understand how to snake it.
I complained on their website. I asked for a refund as well as a reimbursement for the toilet, the flange their plumber BROKE and for the plumber I had to call to fix their mistake. They flat out said no. Wouldn't even refund for their service, WHICH DIDN'T WORK!!! What a disgrace.
Zynthia M.Made an appointment for them to come in today (between 9-11am), its almost noon and they're a no-show. I called the office at 11 and they said that they'll be here in half an hour. Nope.
