May 5, 2025 Lake County OH Resident. The work was quoted on a Saturday and started then on Monday. The worker was scheduled for 10 am; showed up at 10:30 am. We were concerned about the tile in the bathroom however, the worker indicated that once he removed the toilet, he didn't think there would be any problems and tile would be AOK. He ran into an issue or 2 and had to run to the Willoughby pluming store for parts, because he didn't have the right parts in his Van. He then had some issues and another Roto-Rooter truck showed up to chat with our Tech; they never came in. Our Tech in between running to the store said, nothing is going right ever since my girlfriend broke up with me last week. At 4 pm or so, he said he was completed and cleaning up his mess. The toilet was NOT reset straight on but at a significant angle, which explained was because he could not re-bolt the toilet because the wood was damaged from the water. AT THIS POINT, why in the world would you not STOP and EXPLAIN to the customer the Dilemma. I am APPAULD at the work and don't understand why companies like this can get away with charging crazy amounts for not doing a job RIGHT the FIRST TIME. Think TWICE BEFORE calling Roto-Rooter for your plumbing work. WHAT A SHAME! - you can't rely on Techs to do a job properly.

Over priced... not what was expected... once they got payment no help after that. And after not another bill in mail which I can't figure out what it is for.

Don't tell them what you think the problem is. I was charged $500 based on what I thought the problem was (a clogged pipe). I signed on the work and when he went to perform the work, he noticed that it was something else(a simple clogged drain) but still charged me for the snake. Very kind. But really unprofessional. I feel scammed. and will never use their services again.

Very poor service. Unprofessional and rude communication. They came over and actually damaged the house - took the pipe out and never returned it back. The hammering noise never ceased. Now need to buy a missing pipe and hire someone else to fix the damage ans get rid of the hummering noise. However, they immediately sent the bill that surprised me a lot.

way too expensive. I needed pipe unclogged in my bathroom sink they cut a hole in the wall replace the pipe and everything I have a pedestal sink at the time they took it apart put it back together and later that day when I went to use it I noticed that the whole sink or the Bowl itself was wobbling so I called had to come out the snake a drain and I said hey can you fix the sink while you're here and he told me he'll do it as a courtesy since he's here and told me not to lean on his sink anymore and he said he'd put a beat of cock in the back I like dude to sinked it and wobble before you came here and now you took it apart and I was all wobbly so you need to fix it and I don't lean on my sink to wash my hands it's just a downstairs bathroom there's no reason to lead on it while washing your hands but needless to say like you didn't fix my sink and then you're going to accuse me of doing something after you didn't replace it right the first time and say you put a piece of caulk on the back as a courtesy screw you guys

Edit: They commented on this review and asked for an email. I did that and they haven't responded to me over a week later. Tried doing the Service Feedback Survey on their website to see if they would respond to that but again no response. Truly never use this company, they won't do a good job and will scam you whenever possible and will make sure to not respond to you when you call them out on it.

Never utilize this business. They will strive to take the most expensive option while refusing to explain why they didn't consider all other possibilities first. On July 16th, I called Roto Rooter to inspect a drain in my basement that wasn't draining. They decided that the only option was to dig up my front yard after snaked out the clean out rather than the initial drain that was the problem. They never looked at the roadside cleanouts provided by my city to see if the obstruction could be cleared from that angle. They intended to charge me an additional $8,822.10 for the basement on top of the $10,622.92 that the yard had already cost me.
Another plumbing firm that was far more affordable and even did more than what Roto Rooter suggested doing for a lower fee came out to fix the obstruction in my basement. I believed that Roto Rooter took advantage of the fact that I am a woman living alone who was attempting to travel for business the following week. Even worse, Roto Rooter may have damaged a portion of my walkway when digging up my yard, leaving me to deal with a sizable amount of dirt in my yard and no instructions on how to handle it. I feel I was charged for unnecessary work. A competent service would have found other possible ways to fix the problem before digging up my yard.

will charge you over 3,000$ for half ass work. don't waste your time. the manager is a joke and tells customers their incompetent if they don't know anything about plumbing. tried to get my money back because the pipe they ""fixed"" was still busted. they said no because the worker lied about the rest of the pipe not being an urgent issue. after he cut a hole in my living room and just got it sealed back up 3 days ago. the same pipe burst. all that we got from the company was sorry bout your luck.

Just an absolutely brutal company to deal with. Called them on a Saturday night due to a backed up sewage in basement. $8500 later and the issue was finally fixed. The REAL issue here is the restoration guys. Told them we werent interested since we just spent$8500 in the middle of a pandemic. Slimy sales guy tells us that home insurance will cover all but the deductible of $1000. Told him we still weren't interested. He says Roto Rooter will cover the deductible also. Okay. A month goes by and we were completely ghosted. Another month and we get a bill for the $1000 deductible. Spent another 3 weeks of going back and forth with the lying salesman's boss and best they can do is $500. No explanation for why the salesman ghosted us after numerous attempts via phone and email. Stay VERY far away.

You're better off lighting a stick of dynamite and throwing it in your bathroom or sink. I had reached out about my two faucets not working. They replaced both for 1400 dollars which I checked and could have got done for 800 at a local plumber (I checked). After putting in the bathroom faucet it leaked and I was told it's because my water line was too high, turns out it's because it wasn't properly put in! (Another plumber confirmed this) I called the next week to have them come and fix, and was canceled on due to no plumbers being available after i sat there for 2 hours waiting. So I scheduled for the next day 3-6pm time slot. Well it's 7pm and I'm sitting here still waiting. They called and said they were running behind but shouldn't this be a priority due to the leak being caused by their negligence??? One would think. Roto rooter? More like Roto suck.
