Victoria H.I called these guys yesterday after a terrible experience with another company. It was like night and day! These guys came out ready to do business. I told them what I needed and they didn't try and sell me on anything they just explained what they were going to do and they did it! They were nice and not rude at all and very professional!
Tina M.Terrible service and will charge a fortune. Came out for a clogged trap in drain. Wanted to charge me $483.00 without even looking at it. Called another plumber who unclogged trap and charged me nothing! Terrible to take advantage of people like this. Shame on them!
OMG! Do Not call this company!! Did I just not get raped by this company. Had standing water in my laundry room of the LL of my home. Knew it was a back up problem due to the smell. After a brief assessment of my situation, technician looks up a code in his manual for snaking my clean out. $656!!! I agreed because I am disabled, live alone and had a problem I couldn't resolve! Previous review mentions that she was charged $365 for the same thing which is still utterly ridiculous. Then case worker kept pressuring me to do remediation for damage that doesn't even exist! Will be filing with the BBB.
Please, for the love of God, DO NOT hire Roto-Rooter for ANYTHING. We just bought our first house and had a backup and pipe issue. We were told by their MANAGER that our warranty would pay them directly and no money would come out of our pocket. After that agreement they supposedly did the work and that was that. Three weeks later we are having the same issues. Come to find out they DID NOT COMPLETE THE WORK BECAUSE THEY NEEDED TO BE PAID $800 FROM US. They are also saying that they never told us that the warranty would pay them directly. Every time I have tried to contact the manager I am sent someone else. Sewage water is all in our crawl space and in our yard, so my children can't even play outside. This company is completely mismanaged and severely lacks in communication. PLEASE find someone else for any plumbing issues you have. Putting one star because no stars isn't an option. Save yourself the headache and frustration and use a different company.
Nicole C.I would like to give Eddie Garcia 5 stars for his excellent service! He was able to retrieve my wedding ring that was flushed down the toilet. I called two other plumbers prior to calling Roto-Rooter and they told me it was gone and they couldn't help. Eddie assured me that if he could find it, he would get it. He was very patient, thorough, and checked different drains. He found my ring laying in the drain under the house. I just want to say thank you again for your time and outstanding service.
Needed emergency service for a clogged sewer line. RR was first to respond and said they could be out in an hour. Ended up being 2 hours - close to midnight. Supervisor and assessor show up together. I'm expecting price of $100 - $150 (per Home Advisor) and technician whips out a price sheet for $365! I was very disappointed to be taken advantage of by these guys, let them know how pissed off I was, but gave them the go ahead since it was getting near 1 am and I had little choice. While crew was polite and competent I cannot recommend them due to price gouging practices. Will not be using them again.
Rich W.You know.... I thought I was talking to a reputable and nice company but come to learn it seems like i was just taken advantage of. In a nutshell...
Sunday we all the sudden had what we thought was a clog. Well we called Roto Rooter and they came out to clear it. I explained the situation and thought it was in a main pipe and not the clean out (I have septic). Well the guy came out amd basically refused to even entertain going under the house and he could clear it from the clean out. Fine have at it. Well 20 minutes later he comes back and aays that my pipe from the house to septic has broken. (Tried telling him not to go into it that way but whatever) needless to say it broke. He couldnt fix it and said a field supervisor would come out. Jason Keuhnert came out. Seemed nice. Could tell we were frazzled. Next thing I know he tells us it will be 4 to 5 grand (no explination of breakdown). Frazzled and needing our plumbing we went ahead. Then he tells us its 5500 but oh he is cutting a deal for 4751... This was for 10ft of pipe and a clean out.
Well they come and do it and come to completely because they said our septic needed pump (convienent of Jason to not check that). So we have ACME come out to pump the septic. When they do they ask put of curiosity what we paid for Roto Rooter. Told them and their jaw hit the floor. Come to fins out we were basically taken advantage of because we were in need. They said it would be about $1200 at the very most to do what they did. I called a couple other companies and found the same thing. Truly disheartening to see how we had been taken advantage of. Here I think we are making a good decision and now I have extended credit just to be ripped off.
Trying to get an explination I called Jason Keuhnert back and asked for a break down of the bill. Immediately became standoffish and acted offended. Said he gave me 10% off and they have a price sheet. I asked for the prices and he would never give them. Not sure if they get paid on commission or what but its only reason I can fathom a company trying to charge someone 3x as much as others. It was a pipe 3ft deep and only 10ft long with 2 couplings. I truly feel sick knowing how we were taken advantage of. I called Jason and by the end he says he will have a higher up call me tomorrow. Well today is that day and it's 8pm the next day. So I'm willing to wager that he knows what he did and is hoping to sweep it under the rug.
I truly hate making a post or negative review but this is insane and people need to know. If in an emergency I would not recommend this company at all. No disrespect but I would not trust the field supervisor we dealt with especially. So I'm posting here and everywhere I can to let others know my experience so maybe they can think more about calling this company when in need. Truly hurt and baffled with how much it feels like this was predatory with taking advantage of someone in need. If in need of help please be cautious if calling this place.
Buyer Beware with these snakes.
Do not allow them to talk to your insurance company before they give you a quote. They found out the exact amount my insurance was willing to pay for cleaning up my basement and amazingly, it work came to exactly that number.
Then when I discussed it with other vendors and my insurance adjuster they both said that the price was 30% higher than what it should have been.
When I asked them about it and tried to work out a more reasonable price this is what I received back.
The total payment of $%%%%.%% is due by 11/9/2018, after which a lien will be placed on the property for the amount due.
So they immediately go to threatening to place an lien on my property. Learn from my mistake and stay away from this POS company.
Update to my review:
Concerning paying them, this was our correspondence:
I received my insurance check on Monday of last week (9/29) and attempted to work out a more reasonable price, but when it was apparent that your company was committed to ripping me off I deposited the check on Friday (10/2). It's a two party check so there's a five day hold on it. I told your accounting department this, and here's the response I received.
""If we do not receive payment by 11/9/18 a lien will be placed on property and account will be turned over to legal. The contract that you signed states that payment is due to us by the 45th day and this is past that point. Again, if payment is not at the office by Friday 11/9/18 account will be turned over to legal and lien will be placed""
Ben H.Recently had an issue with our tub plumbing and the tech who came out Jason Anderson was very professional and knowledgeable about the process though we did not use Roto Rooter for financial reasons I wanted to express how impressed I was with his honesty about the process and what needed to be done.
Jenny T.What a scam this outfit is! We called for emergency service when our dishwasher, washing machine and sink all began leaking water onto the floor of our kitchen and it went through to the basement. They immediately sent a ""field supervisor,"" NOT a plumber, to assess the water damage, which basically meant we were going to be charged $3000 for them to set up 6 fans. They did not tell us how much it would cost, only that we could file a claim (with our $1,000 deductible!). Then they ripped out some flooring and the molding. The actual plumber didn't show up until the next day, and charged us $300 to snake the pipe. Problem solved. Only it's not, because the ""project manager"" claims he could not get ahold of our adjuster, and our adjuster (who promptly returns all of my phone calls) says he has not heard from the project manager, and my house, 2 weeks later, is still torn up. The project manager won't return my calls, and my last one was to fire him. Roto Rooter basically scammed us for $3300 for a minor leak.
