Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I moved into a new house and within the first 24 hours found that my kitchen sink faucet barely had any water coming out and my upstairs bathroom sink was leaking underneath into the cabinet. Being from out of state and not knowing what the best options were for my area, I just did a quick internet search and this was the first thing to pop up so I called. In general, this was a very positive experience and I gave 4 stars because:

One star for prompt response - I called and someone was here within the hour
One star for courteous service - The service technician was very nice and very knowledgeable, even gave me some personal tips on general plumbing since I am a first time home owner
One star for transparency - He was upfront with ALL of the costs and honest about service expectations
One star for good work ethic - Work was done efficiently and he cleaned up after himself

The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is because it was more expensive than I thought it should be. Knowing comparable rates from where I used to live and now living here for a few weeks, I think Roto-Rooter is overpriced. HOWEVER, there's something to be said about the prompt response, courteous service, transparency, and work ethic all being top notch, and if it means paying a little more to get it, well then so be it. My advice to Roto-Rooter is to reevaluate your prices because eventually, the other local businesses will adopt the four points I brought up to exceptional levels while maintaining lower costs and take away your business. Until then, I'm still a customer :-)

Called to have my main line cleaned out on Thursday afternoon and were able to fit me in and were at the house by 8 am on Friday. Tim was courteous and helpful. They cleaned out the line and as part of the service, ran the camera snake through to determine if there were any areas where pipe had collapsed. Would use them again. Thanks.

Called on Tuesday morning and received service later in the day. They sent two guys. I had to have drain snaked. My line to the sewer had backed up and had actually flooded my basement. They were nice and professional but took kind of long wrapping things up (one of the guys was in the basement by himself for over 20 minutes and I'm not sure what he could have been doing all that time). I also thought the price was steep - $434 but that was because they had to remove a toilet to snake the drain properly because they said the only other pipe they had access to was not wide enough for them to get good angle/access (?). Anyway if not for the steep price, I probably would have rated them higher.

WAY to expensive!! Service guy was nice, but he really didn't clear my drain very well. Took him maybe 20 minutes and the service cost me $239 to clear 1 drain, and that was with a $40 off coupon. They refused to quote over the phone and now I know why. Won't use again.

Quick and professional. Service tech was at my house within two hours of call. He was knowledgeable and friendly. Won't hesitate to call Dayton area Roto-Rooter for drain issues again.

Our technician Doug was a God send. A piece in our less-than-three year old shower dial broke in the on position with the hot water running at two on a Friday. We called Roto-Rooter and everything was fixed, even though he did not have the part on hand, by eight. We will definitely use them again.

I had an issue with my kitchen sink and after numerous attempts to unclog the drain I called roto rooter at about 6:00pm for service. I was informed that it would be 2 hours before a technician could make it. I waited until I received a call at 9:30pm that they could not make it until 1:00am in the morning. Since the water had receded i decided to wait until the next day. I was called the next morning and advised a tech could be out within 45 minutes and low and behold the tech showed up and was very informative on the process to unclog my drain. I was bowled over when I was given a price of 279.00 to snake a drain. But I since I could not get it open I let the expert conclude the task at hand. I have used roto rooter in the past because of their expertise, convenience and reasonable price but at 279.00 to snake a drain I might just shop around in advance next time. Bright side is they do warranty their work for up to six months.

Very happy with the professionalism and service provided. Was not happy to see a routine line cleaning turn into a $325 camera spelunking. I'd recommend getting pricing and services communicated up front. I think I had my idea of what I wanted, the technician had his idea of what I was asking.

Over priced and rude technician! Will never use them again! Had them snake a basement drain, paid close to $300 for 30 min of work, later that evening my kitchen drain backed up, they came back out and said it had nothing to do with what they did earlier and was going to change me another $300! Told them to get out. Unbelievable!
