Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

We used roto rooter in 2019 for a job. We had a broken sewer pipe in our yard. They came and tore up the yard trying to find it even though they had used a camera in the pipe to estimate the distance. They felt that warranted digging up 20 feet. They broke a piece of equipment inside the pipe and then tried to get us after the fact to sign a waiver saying they could charge us.

We paid for them to level out the ground. We ended up with a 6 foot hole next to a 6 foot pile of dirt and 8 feet of pipe exposed and a clean out cap 3 feet above level ground.

I called so many times to complain but they said I signed off on the job as done. In actuality the foreman said the pipe work was done and he'd be back the next day to finish the groundwork. I sent pictures to their corporate office and got a cease and desist letter because I was taking up so much of their time after I'd paid over $20k. The manager eventually called and said for another $850 he'd fix the dirt.

I got out my shovel and leveled it myself and then cut the clean out cap to level and replaced the cap.

Will never use again. I hope they go out of business.

Too slow. Stretchs the job out. One hour job took 3 hours. When I complained, I got like, oh well.

The plumber sent said the job should take an hour but may be a little longer. It took 3 hours and at one point when we couldn't find him, he was cleaning a spill in his truck. We were paying for that time. It was done in a manner that the things that were in the cabinet will not fit as they did and he didn't ask or mention that before doing it. I had another plumber come see what roto rooter had done and he said it should have been an hour and a half job at the most. We had a coupon we were told we could use that they then refused to let us use. The manager we called to complain basically said too bad. No concern for customer satisfaction at all. There are too many other businesses to mess w such an incompetent and dishonest company.

I called for a water heater install. I was given a 14 hour window. Are you friggin kidding me??!? 2 guys show up sometime around 4, I didnt keep track. 2 guys started at the new water tank in its box for about 11 minutes..? Himmed and Hawed, said it was way too big cuz it's a 50 gal and mine is a 40 gal. They didnt even LOOK at old one... It was a 56-64 gal. New one fit just fine. Anyway, 2 other companies quoted me between 300 and 500 dollars for the install. These losers came up with an odd, off the wall number...$1000 and some odd dollars. I laughed out loud. Asked em if my tits made them think I was stupid. Clearly dipsh*$ brought his buddy, told him they will both be able to pocket some cash. Told them to get the F out of my house. They didnt even want to make a few hundred dollars. I think they didnt know how to install it. Or just too lazy. I ended up calling someone else who came right over, total for emergency call and an hours work, (THATS RIGHT ROTO ROOTER WAS TOO LAZY TO WORK FOR ONE HOUR!), by himself (not a 2 man job) cost was $426. These M-Fers are losing money by trying to rip off a d take advantage. Lost the job. Lost the cash. Lost the referral. UPDATE: Pat clearly sent my info to the office because I got a phone call from the manager who was soooo rude and condescending. First, he said the bid of 1100.oo dollars would have been for the tank AND the install. When I explained his guys were looking AT the actual new tank I provided he then got snippy and said HOW WOULD I KNOW! I WASNT THERE! ...and WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?!? What a douche. What a effing piece of garbage.

Hopefully the service checks out once the city inspects...but for a commercial building, I was charged almost 5-thousand dollars to run lines from two water heaters. In my estimation this was outrageous. I did not get a quote and paid them by the hour, so my bad! Can anyone give me an idea of what I should have been charged?

Called Saturday afternoon and they said they didn't have anyone in my area but could schedule me for Sunday to give me a call at 8:00am. No one called. So I called them and it's 1.5 hours beyond my promised scheduled return call and they said they don't have anyone. What a joke, I should have never waited around for them to call. This is the second time I've had an issue and tried to use this company and they failed in scheduling. I'm done trying to get ahold of them and will tell everyone I know to never use Roto Rooter.

I was very displeased with the professionalism and attitude of the service I just received. I called for service to install a brand new garbage disposal, the same disposal I already have, just new as mine is old and started to leak. When the technician came in, before He looked at anything he asked if he could go pee. Just like that. If he had to go that bad before even doing anything he should have gone before he came to my house. Then he asked me how much I wanted to pay for the install, I asked him what the charge is. He said $379 which I thought was high. He laughed and asked how much I wanted to pay and I was caught off guard like he was negotiating or something. I just told him I didn't think it would be that expensive and I would like to see if I could get someone else to do it for less. He explained Roto Rooters quality and I concurred as I often use Roto Rooter and that's why I called them first. I said but I still think that's high and it's not an emergency so I'd like to see if I have other options. He said next time then I shouldn't call Roto Rooter, and that I wasted his time!!! Who says that to a customer? So not only did he tell me I wasted HIS time, he told me not to call them again. So I think I'll listen...

Mr Parks, Roto Rooter, tech was timely, very knowledgeable and professional. His service actions to clean our clog drain line really was effective. We would definitely use Roto Rooter again!

We had a chronic clogged kitchen sink. Had plumbers out 4 times under home warranty. They snaked it but never took the time to really diagnose the issue. Root did that. Snaked it. Rerouted drain lines under sink. Tested garbage disposal and dish washer to ensure working properly and draining properly. So far, very pleased.

Outstanding experience from start to end. Requested service on my sump pump online Friday, and received a reply very soon after verifying a Monday morning appointment. They called as promised about a half hour prior to arrival, and then Kelly was phenomenal - going over my situation thoroughly and offering his expert opinion and finally, his swift and clean replacement of my 17 year old pump. He could not have been more professional and friendly, and I will absolutely make Roto-Rooter my first choice when the need arises in the future! Outstanding company, outstanding personnel!
