Roto-Rooter installed a new sink, faucet, and garbage disposal in my kitchen due to a faulty faucet. They were able to fix everything - for the most part. However, about two hours after the plumber left, we noticed that the faucet was dripping. Thankfully, we called Roto-Rooter and they had the same plumber begrudgingly come back to our home to fix the problem. Nevertheless, the reason for my poor review is the state he left my home in after the first repair. He had to cut a hole in our counter for a larger sized sink, and the process left dust everywhere. And when I say everywhere . . I literally mean every inch of my first floor had a layer of dust covering the surface. A LAYER!?!! #$@

There was dust in every lower drawer and cabinet in my kitchen, dust all over my kitchen table, dust on my office desk in an adjoining room, dust on my formal dining table, and dust on my sofa and coffee table in our living room. Every dish, piece of flatware, and linen set in our lower cabinets had to be washed. We cleaned our floors multiple times, and theirs still dust showing on our floors. If I could attach pictures, to this review, I would. My husband and I have spent HOURS cleaning, and re-cleaning every surface of our home to remove the dust. We were not given a heads up that, there would be dust involved in replacing our sink. If so, we would have removed and/or covered our belongings. To add insult to injury, when the plumber left, he mentioned that it wasn't his responsibility to clean up work sites!?! WHATTTT??? I've had a positive experience with Roto-Rooter in the past, but this time I was really disappointed and most likely won't use them again.

Everyone listen. Our technician Ray came out and was the absolute best plumber i've ever had. We had serious issues with our toilet and it wouldn't flush. He snaked the line and then told me i needed to replace the toilet. What i liked is he explained to me WHY it needed replaced. Not only that but he went with my to Lowe's and helped me pick out a toilet. Helped me carry it in my house to the basement, and installed it. He was positive and a joy to be around. I recommend Roto-Rooter to everyone. They were very nice, understanding, accomidating to my family. When we picked out the toilet he explained to my why a certain toilet was better than the other. I will ALWAYS go with Roto-Rooter for all my plumbing needs.

Excellent customer service. Even took time to play peek-a-boo with my 5 year old. Had them out multiple tines to my house, never disappointed. Wont hesitate to refer a friend to them. Was not a long wait for them to come out.

I've been inundated with requests from Roto Rooter to provide a review of recent services on my property located at 2183 Shademont Court, Columbus, OH 43235. I had a very unsatisfactory experience with them that has left me with a very negative opinion of their business practices. Overall, I believe I was misled about the extent of the work needed, provided a seriously over-estimated quote for their work that included unexplained/unnecessary expenses, left with a huge mess on the property that is going to cost me even more to resolve, and treated in an extremely unprofessional manner when I asked for an explanation. Additionally, I believe that Roto Rooter is misleading customers with the reviews on their website by selectively deleting negative reviews which is very deceptive.

I contacted Roto Rooter on March 28 to assess a drainage issue for both myself and my neighbor. The sump pumps/downspouts/drain lines face one another and when the sump pumps ran the water was pooling around the outside pipe and bubbling out of the downspout at ground level. I could see that water was draining out at the curb from my line but the neighbors drain appeared to be almost completely blocked. Roto Rooter arrived around noon and the service tech assessed the situation and recommended we have a camera run into the lines to determine the cause of the problems. He said this could only be done by a field supervisor (at a charge of $125 that would be shared between the neighbor and myself). He placed a call to the field supervisor (John Milburn) who was in Gahanna at the time and then sat in his truck and waited the 45/60 minutes for John to arrive. Field Supervisor John ran the camera and said I had some areas of breakage along with roots growing into those cracks. He indicated it would cost at least $3000 to repair because this was a big job. I went inside while he talked with my neighbor. I looked online for Roto Rooter reviews and also saw they had some coupons on their site. The reviews on their website were overwhelming positive. I ultimately based my decision to go with Roto Rooter on them being a long standing established business that was supported by the overwhelming positives reviews.

The initial service tech came in and said I needed to pay a separate invoice in the amount of $125 for the camera since I was the one that requested the service call and that I needed to work it out with my neighbor for their half of the cost. I paid for the camera and shortly afterward FS John came in with a quote for $4,900. He said this was a very complicated and difficult project. He also indicated my neighbor had this type of work done cheaply a few years ago and this was what happens when you don't do it right. (My neighbor received the same quote.) He said they would use the highest quality pipe, there was a lot of equipment and labor involved, additional/expensive equipment was involved to run the line under the sidewalk, and the difficulty of the project warranted the expense along with the first class service they provide and we required. I asked him about the coupons on their site and he said he'd already included them in the price. He was very friendly - interspersing the magnitude of the work with personal stories (the death of his teenage daughter 10 years ago, his wife's dog rescue work and the new house they are building). I later found out he'd told my neighbors that he was training a new field supervisor from Indianapolis and given the difficulty/complicated nature of this job he was planning to bring him over to view the work when in process.

The OUPS people were contacted and arrived in the late morning of 3/30 and marked all the lines. Roto Rooter arrived (2 men) at 10:00 a.m. on 3/31 and trenched both houses (all of the work they did for my line and my neighbors was treated as one project). All trenching was completed by noon when they left for lunch. They returned just after 2 and laid the line from my sump pump to the street (this included the line under the sidewalk for both myself and neighbor). They left for the day at 5:45. The following morning they arrived separately (one at 9:20, the other at 9:40). They laid the remaining lines, shoveled dirt (heavily mounded) on the trenched areas and finished at 1:30. Being generous I can say they were onsite for 10 hours. That works out to $980 per hour or $490 per man hour when you combine what my neighbor and I paid. It was obviously not difficult or complicated. (Neither FS John or his field supervisor in training were ever onsite.)

Additionally my neighbor and I were left with seriously damaged lawns. High mounds of large clods of dirt on the trenched areas, deep ruts all around, and piles/clods of dirt and rocks around the lawns and landscaped areas. FS John had explained to me that I would only have to walk along the trenched lines from time to time, along with watering the area, to get the mounded dirt to settle properly.

Kitchen sink was being SUPER slow to drain. Called my usual plumber at around 8 am to be told I would get a call in the afternoon when they would be 30 min away from my house. 3 pm rolled around and no call. Tried them again and they said I would get a call back immediately to give me an estimate, still no return call. Cancelled that job and then put the Roto request in online at 4 PM. Eric #939 was ringing the doorbell at 4:45 PM. He was super nice, maintained cleanliness, and overall a cool dude.

The price is high, but when your mother-in-law is in town to help take care of a newborn (i.e., cooking), desperate times call for desperate measures.

What great service! John the technician was very thorough, taking care to explain everything and show me exactly what was wrong with my kitchen sink, toilet, and bathroom sink (we had a lot going on!), as well as how he'd fix it. He was clean and neat, explained the items on my invoice, and best of all explained how to avoid the multiple problems we ended up with. Totally recommend this company.

We have to have our sewer line snaked about once a year due to tree roots. Roto Rooter is always great and informative. They show up on time, get the job done quickly, and clean up after. Only complaint is their prices have gone up significantly - the same job last year cost $350, this time it was $435 after a $40 coupon... ouch!
