Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Well, I can't give 5 stars because I can't really compare this to any other Roto-Rooter like services, but my experience was good overall.

First off, I had a slow flushing toilet, in the middle of the woods in Granby, MA. Flush, fill, drain super slow. After I snaked and plunged, and tried buckets of water to flush, the tub started backing up. So I called Roto-rooter, and the person on the phone was super friendly and accommodating. She was able to get someone out to my house pretty quickly. Within 40 minutes Jeff arrived, and was fully honest with me. Since I was living in an old home, the stand pipe had no outflow. So Jeff said he thought it was probably a blocked pipe or full septic tank, and that I should call a septic company in first because even if he snaked the pipe, it would be over 500 bucks cause he'd have to pull the toilet, and that it might not do anything.

So after getting the septic folks over and draining the tank (which had been neglected for YEARS and YEARS), that didn't fix the problem, and they suggested I call roto-rooter again.

So I did, and they had all my info on hand immediately and sent another person over. This time took a lot longer to get to my house, but Sergey was nice enough, showed me all the prices for services. And he was honest, he said right away ""Ok, well I need you to know this is expensive"" and proceeded to show me his service list.

He had to dig up an access hatch for the septic tank, and it was getting dark and cold out. But he was very quick, and found the problem and was able to clear some massive roots from the pipe going into the septic tank, and then everything was ok. He even showed me what to do to fix it if it happens again, saving me a ton of money. Not only that, but he went back and filled in the dirt not only from his work, but also from what the septic tank fellas had left.

Now, I have no idea how much this service would cost somewhere else, but Sergey seemed to know exactly what to do right away with little explanation and it put my mind at east. So while MAYBE it was expensive, it was quick and easy and I felt much better after he did his work. I didn't feel swindled or lied to or anything.

And to top it off, he provided me with a jug of pipe-shield to keep things clean.

I had a plumbing problem and called Roto-Rooter. They kept me in touch by phone with their arrival. When their employee arrived, he explained the problem to me and the process he would be using. I was very impressed to see how polite and thorough he was.

The experience I had with Roto-Rooter was a pleasant one.

3 Stars to the company: they really need to learn time management and courtesy phone calls and not leave a customer waiting for over 8 hours before they send in a tech.

4 Stars to Steve #886 for coming and getting my backed up drain cleaned out, after a couple little set backs, he really came thru and got the pipe nice and clean and gave us some great maintenance recommendations. Thank you very much.

I had a clogged kitchen sink that I couldn't get to go after trying to plunge it so I called Roto Rooter. They came out within two hours, and fixed it in about 1 hour. Jeff D was very professional, explained their flat rate approach(which was higher than I expected but may had made out if it took longer with complications). He gave me some tips to avoid it in the future and now have 6 month warranty on their work.

I had a blockage in the upper portion of home plumbing line, causing a completely stopped sink, weak toilet draining, and gurgling in fixtures down the line due to blocked venting.
Called several plumbers during business hours, and received no answer or call-back until trying Roto-Rooter. Their call center was curtious and provided me an appt. for same-day evening service.
Although my appt. was for 8:30pm, they did not arrive until 9:30pm, but they updated me by phone 3 times to appologize for being a little behind and assured me they would be there asap.
The plumber was curtious, confident, professional, straight-forward, and explained pricing up front. He finished the job relatively and unexpectedly quickly, with an excellent result of completely curing the problem.
My only negative comment would be the pre-set pricing was very steep for the amount of time the technician ultimately ended up spending to fix the problem, even considering his travel time. But my understanding was that price would have remained the same even if labor had proved more involved, which gave peace of mind.

I had my main line backup 4 hours before I was having 20 people over for a winter BBQ on a Saturday night. I called all of the local plumbers and only 1 called me back and the best they could do was have someone come over Monday morning.

I called Roto Rooter amd they said the could dispatch someone to my house in Hudson,MA by 8:30 pm that same night. Although, later than i wanted, I agreed to the service. The technician Danny arrived to my house earlier than expected and got right to work. He was extremely professional and courteous. The job was done within 90 minutes and he left the bathroom spotless. He explained the blockage to me and want I can do to minimize future back ups.

Danny saved the weekend and I was able to have my BBQ as scheduled. I commend him for working Saturday nights and turning a potential disaster into a non issue.

We had a clog in our Kitchen drain, I called Roto-Rooter, Then came at the time they said they would called to confirm they would be there at the time they said,

Danny came and did a great job, cleared the drain, was professional and clean, only issue was the price,

Like other reviewers have said, expensive, $475 with a 6 month warranty or $229 per hour, YIKES, I opted for the $229, I thought that was pretty expensive for what needed to be done. I already had everything taken apart and all that was needed to be done was run the snake thru the drain.

We had a pretty nasty leak/blockage that needed attention quickly due to the amount of water we were getting in our basement. I called Roto-Rooter and they sent out a professional serviceman named Anthony Becker 1496, who arrived a few hours late due to the distance and weather but went directly to work on the problem. It needed to be snaked out and drained a few times due to the amount of blockage and he spent most of the afternoon working on getting the job done. They are a little pricey compared to other companies but he stayed until the problem was fixed. He had forgot to bring a camera so that he could find out exactly what was causing the problem but said that someone would come out within a day or two with a camera. Anthony was very professional and did a very good job. I must say that he has the patience of a saint, as my two dogs were constantly barking and running around but he took it all in stride and for that I was very grateful. All in all I am very please with the service I was given.
