On a Thursday, I had planned on renovating my basement, but discovereda leaking pipe and flooding on the floor. Upon calling Roto Rooter they were able to come out in a little over an hour. The servicemen were very respectful of being in my home. (I was alone was my small children and dog). They were great about explaining everything before, during and after. They found the problem to be worse than they expected and tried for a while to find a solution that wouldn't cost more money, but were unable to salvage the part. When they finished, they cleaned the area as best they could. My only complaints are that they wore their dirty shoes in the house, which probably couldn't be helped and it ended up costing $250 more because of problems they encountered. In the end, I am confident they did a good job and appreciate the made every attempt to keep me informed of the progress. I don't believe we'll have any more problems.

Roto-Rooter was contracted out by our home improvement store to install our hot water heater. Due to the urgent nature of our need and the size of the tank (went from a 40gal to a 75gal), we encountered some issues with getting Roto-Rooter out as quickly as our improvement store had promised. We got nowhere with Roto-Rooter in getting the tank on the day we expected (called twice), and they told us that a tank that size requires 2 experienced technicians and only one was available that day...meanwhile, our family of 7 was on day 3 of no hot water in December! Grrrr! We ended going up the food chain with the customer service of the home improvement store, and one of their agents in Atlanta ""magically"" made everything better here in Rochester. The new tank arrived shortly after that phone call with the home improvement care agent, and the techs weren't too sure if they could make it work & had to make a call about the grade of our pipes etc. In the end, though displeased with the scheduling process, the new tank was installed and we're happy with the product and installation. The technicians themselves were friendly and professional...the irony of it is that one was experienced, the other seemed to be in training...yet the job got done quite well, without having 2 experienced people. Fancy that!

Please DO NOT make the same mistake I did and confuse them for Mr. Rooter, because they'll cheat you out of hundreds of dollars. Lesson learned, I'd give them 0 stars if I could.

Very fast response and saved us some money but recommending a different way to solve the issue. Would use again.

Really Roto? You people are ridiculous. I have used them in the past and was displeased but at 2am our water heater broke and was leaking water everywhere onto the basement floor and they are a 24/7 service. Call... give my info and they say the on call guy will call me. He does and tells me to shut off the water valves. I explain they are stuck and he says ""well my trucks broke so I can't come out...I can have someone come out at 8am"". Are you freaking serious? You have one guy on call with a broke down roto rooter truck? Gtfoh. My guess obviously is he didn't want to come out. Yea won't ever call here again.

I am sure this feedback will not be making any headlines with Rotor-Rooter, but I just wanted you to know about my dealings with that company. On 5/13/2014 I called to get an estimate over phone for the replacement of a water pressure regulator in my home because my pressure was over 110PSI. The lady told me they have to come out to give estimate so I had them send someone. The guy that shows up walks in looks at my old regulator and tells me he has to use a lead free one to replace mine and total cost with labor was 560.00 plus tax. I declined this price and he left. Fact of the matter is that my old one was also lead free and he was trying to pull a fast one on me. I went to Home depot and purchased a Watts regulator for 72.00 ( lead free) and it took me a total of ten minutes to swap out ( and I am not a plumber), adjust pressure to 62PSI and clean up. so in other words your employee wanted to charge me around 500.00 labor to do a 10 minute swap out. I intend on placing this feedback on every website I can find. crooks!

The service was wonderful and the plummer was knowledgeable and friendly. It was Christmas night and they still showed up to drain my flooded basement for no additional charge! However, the service is a little more pricey than other plummer's in the area.

I had to call on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm to get a plumber out to clear out a stopped up drain in the basement of a rental property. I got a person on the phone right away and she told me someone would be available between 2pm and 4pm - I got a call back at 1pm saying the on-call plumber was on his way.
It wasn't cheap by any means (what plumber is?) but I was able to get someone over on a Sunday within an hour of calling and he fixed the problem in 90 minutes.

Ripped off--couple thousand dollars for something that is the city's fault. After watching UnderCover Boss, didn't know you could negotiate prices! Tsk tsk
