Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

A recent septic emergency caused me to call Roto-Rooter. I did try 2 or 3 other places first but only got voice mail. RR was able to have someone out in 2-3 hours. After going over everything, including the camera snake, it was determined that a pumping would be the first step. I can't say how pleased I was with Benny, Thomas and AJ. Professional and great to talk with about the issue. RR scheduled a pumping for the next morning and showed up on time. The pools were pumped and everything is now functioning properly. The reason I did not give 4/5 stars was the pricing. All said and done it probably cost at least twice what other companies were advertising for the same service. I realize it was an emergency and they were the only response I got but if just felt like I got a bit overcharged. Again, Benny, Thomas and AJ were fantastic.

My mom's basement flooded with sewage due to a backed up sewer pipe. Because of her age, I had to get it fixed and cleaned up from my out of state location. I also had to coordinate efforts with her homeowner's insurance adjusters. Kudos to Alex, Joe, Michael and Christine for being timely, effective and easy to work with. (Aside: our insurance adjuster also said that RR is great to work with).

Noticed some sewer back up in my tub and called Roto Rooter for a next day assessment. I was extremely anxious and worried however Alex (technician #200) was amazing!!!!!! Excellent customer service!!!! He assessed my problem, told me the rate up front after his diagnosis. He was so patient with me!!! Never pushy!!! He walked me through everything step by step and offered a ton of education regarding how my pipes connect to the main sewer and the problems he encountered and offered me some maintenance/better practice moving forward to keep the system flowing. He was very professional yet personable like one of my family members coming to help out. Once he finished, he stayed to make sure all the sinks, tubs and toilets all were draining. He took his time to reassess and I truly appreciate it! You can tell he takes pride in his work believe me! I will definitely call for him next time. Thanks again!

Besides being over charged here's a word of advice, either have an adult with them supervising while they work or place cameras in view of their workers!

They steal and are unprofessional. They say they ""thoroughly"" clean the water damage when they don't. Again, another reason to be with them when they work as they don't know the definition of thoroughly cleaning!

Make sure any memorabilia, antiques and accessories are put away, get those cameras or be prepared for things to walk away! Woman in office is very rude and customer service sucks, especially after they get their money, they could give a crap and care less as they don't even return calls.

during the covid lockdown I couldn't reach a local plumber so I called roto rooter, What a ripp-off! $770 bucks for 2 1/2 hrs of work. This was a tenant's apt. and I couldn't be on site. Boy did they take advantage. They replaced an elbow under a sink and in another bathroom did some caulking. With parts, this should have cost $300 tops even in NYC. Stay away!!!

Do not use!!!!!! Called for a clog drain They came charged $600 said they fixed it. I knew it wasn't fixed said they guarantee their work so I paid. 30 days later basement flooded completely cause pipe backed up. Called them back guy was very rude said they are def not fixing it for free We had to call another company to come and pay them to fix the original problem we called rotor rooter for. Jihad was amazing, so kind, courteous, and super knowledgeable and skilled!!!. Unclogged toilet branch line that backed up into my apt toilet. Building maintenance of my building has inadequate emergency protocol and response and was very grateful that rotorooter got Jihad here in couple hours on a sunday. Thank you!

If it were possible to give Roto-Rooter less than one star I would do it. They came to my mother's house and gave a price to fix a clog that was $200 more then it would have cost us in the middle of the night from a local septic company. not only that, they told us that my mom had roots in her pipes and a split in the pipe. They told me it would cost $5,000 to fix it and if I waited it would cost me $10,000. I told them to get out. I got another estimate from a reputable company and lo and behold, they could not find the roots nor the split in the pipe. Rota rooter lied and we're going to take advantage of my mom. Never use them. Always, always get another opinion.

Wow! Talk about a scam / rip off!!! 15 min for easy toilet fix - $300 plus parts. Oh and when they came they said that includes the coupon. I never mentioned my coupon. After the plumber left my husband spent another 15 min fixing toilet again bc wasn't filling right bc chain was set wrong and water not fully turned back on. DO NOT USE. Should've listened to other reviews.
