Complete RIP OFF. DO NOT CALL ROTO ROOTER on Staten Island! A friend had a leak on her tub. Technician came in opened the ceiling and changed the drain trap which was easily accessible and a very cheap part, probably a 20 minute repair but he milked the job for 4 hours, charged her $900!!!!! AND THE TUB WAS STILL LEAKING. I went and made the repair a week later. Roto Rooter are not Plumbers they are con artists that make a commission so they will do whatever they can to milk the shit out of you... STAY AWAYYYYYY!!!

I find out my ceiling leak on Friday night, so I was searching online on Sat morning.
After I compare with few companies they can start this job today with fix fee.
So the technician John came before noon, and finished total 3 jobs around 4pm.
He is knowledgeable, polite, and friendly.
No more July 4th nightmare!

I called Roto Rooter and within 15 to 20 minutes guy was at my house Leon he immediately made me feel very comfortable and I was very happy with the service that they supplied to me they told me they would have another guy there the guys came there there was no shenanigans going on with the Roto Rooter and I love it they made my whole attitude Cellcom because I didn't know what I was going to do with an overflowin my basement.. But they took care of everything! Cleaned up the basement.. God rid of all water damaged stuff and dried it all up within hours of when it happened.

Working with the Staten Island branch of roto-rooter was a complete nightmare. This branch and its workers have no idea what professionalism is as well as decent customer service. In terms of work performed they saddled me with an enormous bill without clearing first the cost with us. After which they demanded payment without reaching out to us when we attempted to contact them about work done and proper payment. All of our calls and attempts we handled through Leon Grober and customer service team - Leon was as unprofessional as you can find. Never responded to any of our inquires or questions about work done. In the end we were left with a bill double the amount of what we discussed in the beginning and cleaning work was done half assed as we had to bring in a second company to fully restore and complete the job that roto-rooter were hired to do in the beginning not even less then a month after roto-rooters was finished. When you attempt to speak to them about these problems they give you some quick response about how none of this is true and it's just rival companies that are trying to tarnish their name- no sir's your poor handling of clients and terrible customer services is what's tarnishing your name. Never hiring these guys again - homeowners beware.

LOL, so long story short Staten Island's sewer systems blows. Always sewer issues out here.

So unfortunately my home sewer is being shared by 5 others homes which then connects to the main city sewer. So every few years we have to clean the sewer pipe of any backup that it may cause.

Basically maintain it before things go south.

So what they than do is they come an jet the pipes with strong pressure water hose an after they attach their camera to make sure it's flowing smooth an there's not cracks etc going on down their.

Over all about 2-3 hours of work. Which ""we"" meaning my jerk cheap neighbors only wants to do it in the winter freezing cold when there tends to show signs of backup or flushing issues. I rather do it 2x a year to maintain it regularly. Hey every isn't like me to avoid a problem

Roto rooter has been a life saver for my block for quite some time now. Even before I moved in this has been getting serviced.

I'm the only yelper who was entitled to $60 off my half I'm suppose to pay an boy oh boy the neighbor wanted a coupon too"" wanted to argue bc she didn't have a coupon so yeah a good thing for me turned sour real quick. Nice lady that I'am I took the $60 off the entire balance instead of my share. (Still she was bitter) oh well one less hi I get to save.

I usually am serviced by Paul which he's the OG of RotoRooter an the neighbors are comfortable with him.

Me I can care less I feel like he over charges us anyway, but who am I to say. As long as it gets done.

This time I dealt with Chris (Christian) I believe & this was his first time servicing this type of line.
He was super professional did the job well an dealt with the drama from cheap neighbors paying a total balance of $1,200+tax than split 5 ways should of been 6 but I have a douche on the block who doesn't like to pay.

Anyway back to Chris he did the job well came 2x to give a estimate an then 2 days later to do the job.

Of course we'll be using the Staten Island team again.

I'm usually very good at researching companies. Don't know why I bypassed this time. Called them cause I had trouble with garbage compactor. I was told that garbage compactor was fried. I bought a new one myself. I was charged 411$ for labor. Seems way excessive. Should have declined service but proceeded to do it. Job was completed and I was given a receipt. Told that had one year guarantee for labor. 5 days later, pipes under sink are dripping all over. Call them over. They send a guy to look at the problem. I told him immediately that we never had a drip problem until they came here. The person dismissed as saying it was most likely just coincidence. Really? He says that original plumber wouldn't have touched those parts. He says I'll need to replace whole faucet. Things its about $365. I tell him thank you, and walk him to the door. A person that does jobs for me from time to time is coming to fix the problem tomorrow. There's no way I'll ever call roto rooter again. I believe they damaged my pipes and then claim that the drain drip is just coincidence. Been living at my house for 14 months. Never had a problem. They come do a job, 5 days later my sink is flooded and is just coincidence. So much for labor guarantee. Never again, and if you heed my advice, stay away from this company.

I had a terrible experience with this company. My gas was turned off on July 4th because National Grid found 2 violations in my house. Roto Rooter was totally inadequate in dealing with the New York City Buildings Department. They insisted the Building Dept. was holding them up when in fact they did not know how to write the applications. Roto Rooter workmen came to my house at least twice and I don't know what they did in there basement but they did not fix any of the violations. They did not know what they were doing and should never have taken a job which involved fixing gas lines in a Brooklyn house. A one star rating is too high for them
