I had a backup in my basement coming from the main sewer line called Roto-Rooter. They sent out a technician who right away tried to sell me restoration services stating that I would have mold behind my wall and needed all of my sheetrock to be removed. I told him I was not interested and asked him to fix the line. Next, he went down to work on the line then came up to tell me the line was zig-zagging up and down and that I really needed to have a camera guy come out to the house. I told him I was not interested. He finished the job and said that the line was cleared but never ran the house water or flushed the toilets. After he left I threw in a load of laundry. He ended up giving my number to someone, Craig, who called and left a message stating that I needed to call to schedule my free camera inspection. I did not respond. The next morning I went down to switch the laundry and my basement is full of water and my sewer line is leaking. I called Roto-Rooter back who sent out the same guy. He acts annoyed that I did not call his guy, Craig, back. Craig then shows up at my house as well to perform the camera inspection. Craig then states that I have a broken sewer line right at the edge of my property, where the dirt meets the curb and I will need to replace the entire sewer line which will cost me between $16,000 to $25,000. He also claimed that I needed to move quickly on this because I can not use the water in my home until this is resolved. Then he says he can show me footage of other people's pipes with similar problems. So, I asked him to show me the footage which he just took of my pipes and he refused, stating that there was nothing to show. I asked them to leave and then called another plumber. The new plumber snaked the line and said it could not be snaked because there were roots the snake could not get past and offered me two options to get past them, CO2 or scraping. I chose to scrape the line which he did and the line was restored fairly quickly. Before you decide to use this plumber realize that they have over 225 complaints against them in the last year and over 661 in the last three years and are being investigated for a pattern of complaints. Reading the reviews on the Better Business Bureau site reveals that many have been victims of similar scams.

Can't get them to call when dispatcher said they would. Can't use the toilet or shower and it's frustrating to have no response to our calls when they promised a call back 12 hours ago.

A little bit expensive however they responded quickly on a Friday night at 12pm and got the job done. So extra cost was not an issue for me.

They came in wore masks and kept all the precautions for Covid and flushed all the pipes out to the street. In and out in 3 hours, they came on time. And it's Warrenty for 6 months.
Would recommend again.
