I'm not saying what hasn't already been said before: the price on this was so so high. They were the first to respond to my Yelp request but only after they left did I hear back from other plumbers who were charging 1/4 of what they did. Huge scam!

Although he couldn't fix the problem, Matt showed me the issue and could not have been more efficient, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. Professional and obviously very good at what he does. Certainly a credit to the brand.

We sincerely hope no one gets duped by roto rooter. quotes are $750 over what is a fair price according to other NYC plumbers. The gouging this company commits should be illegal. Keep looking. They will waste all of everyone's time and quote an absurd amount that no sane person would ever agree to. Seriously.

Horrible customer service. 3 different workers told me different stories and one even booked a plumber to come to my apartment the next day and when I called to ask an email where I could send a Certificate of Insurance, I was told they don't have an email and no one was coming the next day, as they do not schedule a plumber to come until the insurance is in place.
This, after I moved around an entire work morning.
Get it together people, 85 years in business???? Terrible . Do not use.
Oh, and the last one I dealt with was rude on top of which.

Call these people if you want to get completely ripped off.
My tenant has called Roto Rooter because dishwasher didn't drain water, and the water was leaking. The fix on the invoice was ""kitchen sink drain stopper clean. Three trips. Replaced the 2 Elbow waste pipe for kitchen."" For this, they have charged her $200 for parts and $732 for labor. First, an elbow pipe cost $20 max, so that should have been $40 at most. The job lasted an hour and 20 min, counting the time he had gone to park his car and to retrieve tools, which was treated as three trips on the invoice. My tenant is a young woman with no knowledge of plumbing and has signed off on this without checking with me first. When I called them, and spoke with the manager on this blatant abuse of pricing, his response was that this is their price and the tenant was willing to pay this. Yes, I understand that they are free to quote whatever price they want to, and it was my tenant's own fault to get ripped off for not checking with other companies. However, it is completely dishonest to take advantage of someone just because they didn't know what the going rate is for the type of service performed. This job should not have cost more than $400 by a licensed plumber, and I'm counting higher because it is NYC. For a similar job, I have paid $200 elsewhere.
I'm giving them 1 star because at least, the job was done correctly and the problem is solved. But Roto Rooter is never getting my business again.
