So I called roto rooter as no other plumber was responsive. I was weary but my drains were clogged. The tech had trouble snaking the drain so they called a camera technician. He put the camera down their and was really helpful explaining what was going on. However after researching i found that its often a mis diagnose issue with a belly. This is what he called it. He then went on rambling about paying for cops and digging up the whole road and said probably 56,000 dollars...
56,000 dollars....
Never in my life did I ever got such an astronimcal price on something with out even an explanation of why it would be so much.
We sent him on his way and now are looking for second opinions on pipeliners and bursts and were averaging in around 5000 for a replacement.
I seriously hope people dont fall for this scam of a company. They have no set price, they dont list the work needed or the cost of each working and just rattle numbers off their head.
They are good when your in a pinch for a quick snake but please dont ever pay them anything more. Always get a second opinion.
Im still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor after hearing such a price.

They do good work but prepare to be overcharged. We had an emergency situation with a foot of sludge backing up into our tub so they had us where they wanted us. But in addition to a snake and pipe flushing another tech arrived and tried to sell us on a $7,500 job after using a camera to look at the main sewer line and telling us the trap was shot and would need to be replaced.

I called Roto Rooter to have my bathtub snaked to remove a clog. The tech advised me that the price will be $485 plus tax to snake the tub. I was shocked and I thanked the tech for stopping by.

I called another company (Service Professionals) via the help from the Home Advisor App. They arrived to my house and told me the cost was going to be $129 plus tax. Job completed.

I will never call Roto Rooter again for anything due to their ridiculous pricing.

These guys are crooks, did a video camera after doing a snake job to remove a clogged pipe and advised me that the sewer main pipe had rotted out and needed to be replaced. It would be a $7,000 ""emergency job"" and they could do it tomm.

I called up another company, AJ Perri and they also did a video of the pipe and advised that the pipe was fine and likely could last another 20 years and advised I just jet wash the debris that was sitting in the pipe.

Don't bother with Roter rooter unless you want to get bent over and taken for a ride.

Overpriced, horrible quality, not professional. The only good thing about them, they come over in short period of time.
It took the service man 10 min to drain my shower waste with the snake for $400. That was in May, 2018. Within 3 months period, I had to call them 3 times after first visit because it kept clogging, same 10 min in and out.
6 months later same problem, but they are offering me discounted price of $375 plus tax (according to the manager Manny their prices went up in December) to come down and snake the same shower waste again.
Since they claim to provide professional service, they should have advised me on the 3rd visit what is the actual issue I have with the waste. Keep snaking and charging is not a solution.
Don't be fooled by their quick response. They are ridiculously overpriced, unprofessional and don't honor their warranty.

came to clear a slow drain. tried to tell me theyd snake it out in 10 minutes and charge $430.00 + tax. you would need to take drugs to pay that. typical NJ arrogant attitude.

We paid upfront for a camera inspection and resolving drainage problems. They had a tech stop by for 15 minutes to resolve the drainage problem but they never did the camera inspection. We tried calling them several times and received no response. They have not rendered all services that they were paid for.

Called Roto Rooter - Middlesex NJ - 732-798-7292. A guy named Patrick showed up. The most rudest person ever. Quoted me $265 + part to fix a Fill valve in toilet tank. When asked what exactly was needed to since that felt like a very high quote to replace something that cost $10, Patrick hit the roof. He said if I tell you what to fix then you fix it yourself. I told him the price was too high and he started yelling me. At which point I asked him to leave! What rip off. Worst service ever.
Called a handy man who fixed it with part for $80 and on July 4th!!
