Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Shortly after writing this review I received a message from a manager at Roto-rooter. I explained the situation in detail. Stating how I am happy I was able to get someone in an emergency and the serviceman was very polite and nice. But I went from a clogged toilet to one with deep gashes and chips within the bowl that will eventually rust. The manager went above and beyond my expectations and turned a negative experience into a positive one.

GREAT!!! Roto Rooter could only be better if they were FREE

The technician showed up within the time frame I signed up for online, and I was called right before he arrived (and given his name). He assessed the problem and told me how I could fix it on my own with a shop vac (I'd rather pay him to do it). He was polite, informative about what he was doing, what the outcomes could be, even put a dye tablet down to assure that the drain that was now cleaned out wasn't leaking into my basement.

I am very impressed and wished I had called them years ago. Other plumbers I called gave a similar estimate but made it sound like bigger job than what Roto Rooter said. Tung was fast, efficient, and accomplished the job he said he would do.

We live in Philadelphia, PA and used Roto Rooter to clean out our main sewage line which they did with a snake and were very pleased with the services. Our service person (Tuan Vu) was friendly and professional and got the job promptly. Scheduling service was SO easy online and even though they were just a tad late from the expected timeframe, the courtesy call with a heads up about that made up for that. We also got good diagnostic info in addition to service, and didn't just try to sell the most expensive service option. I'd recommend.

I had an outside hose line that burst and we needed to replace the valve inside the house. Kinda surprised at all the negative reviews, The tech that came out here was friendly and worked with me on how to maximize the work he did so that I could get a good deal.
He was out in two hours, was on time and knew what he was doing.

The plumer came an hour later they promised but they called me that he will not be on time. I had a badly clogged bathroom sink. When the plumer see it told me he charges $218 for plunger work and 380 for the snake if the plunger is not working. It was 11am on a regular weekday. I was shocked also no explanation how this price came up. Anyway I needed this job to be done and he was able to do with the plunger only. I am sure there are other plumers in this city to be able to do the same job for more reasonable price. I am not going to use them in the future.

We had a drain line blocked and they came same day service. The price for the work was expensive. The tech, John, was polite and professional. He successfully cleared the drain line and guaranteed his work for 6 months. He did a thorough job and ran lots of water through the drain to be sure that the problem was solved. He also took time to explain the plumbing set up in our home and some of the differences from our place and newer systems.

I was pleased with the work performed, however, I was very displeased with the price. It was way too expensive than I anticipated. I was happy to get a same day appointment, and the worker was on time.

$385 dollars to unclog sewer line at drain site at curb. Then wouldn't take a coupon that stated 50 dollars off any service. Called managers and turned out tech lied and should have taken coupon. Be careful with what the tech tells you. Tech was just trying to make money gave us an estimate for more work that said needed to be done. Did not request him to do estimate. Then tried to use credit card and he said he couldn't take it, the code machine wasn't working. Felt that was a lie too.

The general manager had called me back and apologized to me for the technician. They were able to void my check and put the expense on my credit card. Which is helpful because with a high expense; if possible want time to get the money together. They also were able to correct the issue and gave me the credit for my coupon. Their customer service for handling the situation was very promptly taken care of.

I've used this Roto-Rooter branch in the past and it was a great experience. For this service call, I had called very late (almost 11 pm) and made an appointment first thing the next morning. Not a problem, someone answered the phone and was very helpful. I also requested that Michael (tech # 1773) came out for the service call since he did a terrific job the last time he made repairs at my home. Michael/#1773 arrived on time at 8 am sharp and repaired the clogged pipes through 3 floors of the house. He was efficient, professional, knowledgeable and extremely nice. He is a pleasure to work with, what a great guy. Of course, he fixed it right the first time and made sure all the plumbing issues were corrected before I paid with a check. The labor charge was extremely fair and not at all exorbitant (discussed and approved by me before any work started). Roto-Rooter stands by their 6 month warranty on labor, just in case the same issue pops up again in the future.
