I'll bet you're wondering why my review went from 5 stars all the way down to 1. Major drop, huh?

So here are the things that made me drop them:

The last time we called them, they never showed up. We were supposed to get a return call, but they just bailed on us. We stayed up really late at night waiting for them, but never got a return call.

But the previous time when they did show up, they screwed up BIG time. We had them replace our water heater that had sprung a leak. First, the plumber drained the water and sediment all over the basement floor making a huge mess that we're still battling as the sediment is difficult to clean and continually gets tracked all over. But here's the really major screw up that was literally life threatening: He didn't take the time to properly install it leaving the ductwork unsealed so that it could leak carbon monoxide into the basement. Lucky for us, we have an old drafty house, so we didn't have a huge carbon monoxide build up. I honestly didn't even notice it right away. When we were getting our HVAC ducts replaced, the company we hired noticed it and fixed it. But this could have literally been a fatal mistake...but it really wasn't a mistake. It was simple laziness on the part of someone who didn't care to do the work right. So after this experience, I will never hire them again. If they're so careless about human life, they don't deserve my business or anyone else's.

I'll be honest, I called another plumbing service before calling Roto-Rooter. They wouldn't be able to get me in for a few more days. With water all over my basement floor this was not what I wanted to hear. Called Roto-Rooter and in 15 minutes we had a call letting us know our tech would be here within 30 minutes. Like on queue our tech, Tom (tech #0339), was here and had us fixed up in an hour. He was AWESOME! Explained what had happened and why, what we can do to prevent the cause. Seriously outstanding work.

Water backed up in my basement floor drain. RotoRooter was out here less than 6 months ago, so it was under warranty. No charge. Justin, Tech #700, was very professional and a well of knowledge. I would do business again with RotoRooter just because of this tech! He was willing to explain what he was doing as he went about solving the problem.
