Michael M.First the original work contracted for was not done completely and I was told it was. They sent a junior plumber to check it out and he was useless. I requested the original plumber that installed the work. So that is one thing.
next review is focused more on the company's call center. As a work at home consultant I have clients across the country and have to set virtual meetings. Last Friday I was called by RotoRooter and told that an appointment had been set for today between 11 - 2. I then re-arranged my virtual schedule accordingly. At noon today I received a call and the Manager stated that I did not have an appointment set and they were trying to schedule one. So now I have to move other clients to accommodate their schedule. Very rude. Once finished with the current project would not use them again. Very rude.
tried to call multiple places, ended up with this company, after the guy did his job the other plumber called back and quoted us the price that was more than twice as low as what we just paid. extremely disappointed. terrible.
Cristina L.I called Roto Rooter because I had just bought a house and the toilet wasn't flushing. Two guys came out to take a look; they went into the bathroom for a few minutes and came out, quoting me ~$300 to fix. They went down to $250ish after I expressed a bit of shock.
They got the toilet working again.
My realtor later tells me that the toilet was indeed working this whole time. The shut off valve was just off. In other words...the water line was just disconnected but I could have easily just turned it back on.
I think back at my experience with Roto Rooter -- and remember how they went into the bathroom, closed the door, and ""discussed"" the problem -- and I can't help but feel disgusted by how they took advantage of me. They knew all I had to do was turn on the shut off valve, and they didn't even tell me. They pretended this was a bigger problem than it actually was.
Here's the thing. If you're in pinch and needed someone out STAT, maybe Roto Rooter is for you because it's easy to make an appointment/get someone out. But you're going to have to audit the invoice you get, and you're going to probably pay double than what's reasonable.
I wont hire them again because I can't trust them, and trust goes a long way when you're hiring a contractor.
And if you are a novice to home improvement work, I'd stay far away from Roto Rooter because they will prey on you.
Called for a clog.
Operator said that She would not provide any estimate.
I waited 4 hours,I removed the p-trap and hoped that He'd snake It.
He said $415 ,I opted out .
Then They wanted $75 for estimate.
This company should tell clients about pricing up front.
I'll never call Them again.
Stacey H.gave free estimate on 1/4/2021 to replace the pvc plastic push button flow tight valve with a new valve and supply line. he stated that because the contractors didn't leave any pipe he would have to cut my wall and molding to get to the pipe. it was $570 quote. he also said if i wanted the inside rebuilt, which i stated didn't need to be rebuilt just adjusted, was $280. I said twice it didn't need to be fully rebuilt. his story of cutting my wall to get to the pipe didn't sit well. i definitely didn't trust him so i wanted second opinion. Well i was right. no cutting into my wall needed. $14 SharkBite Universal 12-in Braided Stainless Steel Toilet Supply Line from home depot. twisted off old connector. popped the shark bite on and boom it was fixed! 5 minutes. He was trying to scam a female alone who didn't understand plumbing. scammer! get a second opinion from another plumber and avoid this company. plus he smelled like a pack of cigarettes and it was hard to breathe....and i had a mask on!
So we just bought a new home not expecting to have any plumbing issues. Wouldn't you know it right around evening time a pipe leaked into our garage. Roto-Rooter came out that night at no extra charge and have been working with us to get the issue fixed. They are very efficient and do a great job. Even the restoration company was impressed how they left the drywall area that needed replaced. Said he had not seen a job done so cleanly. They work directly with insurance so you can bypass a great deal of billing hassles. We are still in progress so the job has not yet been complete, but I think Roto-Rooter has done what they can at this point. They were always extremely prompt in coming to our home as well as communicating along the way. I really feel they went above and beyond to help us out. From the first contact through the multiple divisions everyone was professional and competent.
I accidentally punctured my main water line the other month and had Roto Rooter come out to fix. Initially I was very happy and impressed with how seamless and easy they made things. Without even having to request, a water mitigator showed up while the plumber was there fixing my pipe. I liked that they directly handled filing my claim through State Farm and submitting any necessary paperwork & photos. Unfortunately, my experience with them didn't end as well as it started. For anybody needing repair, and planning to file a claim with their homeowners insurance, this may be a cautionary story worth reading to avoid any losses in settlement.
My homeowners insurance through State Farm should have covered both the repair work done and any property damage. State Farm offered me a fair settlement offer, which I reviewed and accepted. A day after accepting I realized the repair bill was not included in breakdown, so I emailed my claims dept. They replied and stated quote "" We talked to the plumber who told us the copper line leaked discharged due to wear and tear, not the nail. The partial denial is only for the repair of the line itself."" That made no sense to me and figured it must've been a misunderstanding/mistake, as the pipe never leaked prior to puncture. I decided to email Roto Rooter to investigate, and without thinking went into my inbox to copy and paste their email address to a new message. A girl named Jasmyn replied back, but unfortunately our correspondences proved to be an unnecessary waste of time. Despite my initial message clearly stating my reason for contacting, it took a week of several messages back and forth for her to advise me I was corresponding with the wrong department?!
After that ordeal I called Roto Rooter directly. I relayed the issue and was told they would escalate higher up, review, and call me back within the hour. Never received a call back. I then attempted, at another date and time, to call them again. Different person and similar response as before. This time, however, I did receive a call back from Doc (gentleman who came out to review damage and submit claim). Unfortunately, this issue was outside his dept and/or ability to resolve. He told me he would forward this issue to a coworker that would be in touch. I never heard back from anybody since.
I have not since attempted to contact them and will accept the almost $300 loss their actions have caused. I will not be using Roto Rooter for any future services. I unfortunately cannot trust in their ability to communicate or assist in any resolutions.
If I could give some of these individuals that work at this company zero stars I would. On May 6, 2020 I called Roto-Rooter because of water and mold under my sink. Long story short they came out and Kris and Mitchell cleaned up all of the water and mold and removed the damaged cabinets. They were awesome! However it is now June 1, 2020 and my cabinets have not been repaired. A man named Dartagnan Hinton aka Doc who swears to be responsive and helpful (he is NOT) recommended a man named Kyle Carpenter to fix my cabinets. I have not heard from Doc or Kyle. I've called both of them multiple times about my claim and they will not contact me back. I don't know if Kyle Carpenter has anything to do with Roto-Rooters but the company should not recommend people if they are not going to complete the job. If you must work with this company, please steer clear of Doc and Kyle Carpenter. They are very unprofessional and not a good representation of who they work for. It's been a month and my kitchen is still not complete.
Jennifer R.Steve and Chris are rock stars! I had a plumbing issue in which a blockage in the pipe between my house and the city main (under the street) was wrecking havoc in my front yard for over 6 months. About a dozen other plumbers looked into it, including the city given that the problem was under the road, and these 2 resolved it in one visit! Chris and Steve are incredible!
Jay B.The guy came to give me a ""free"" estimate. He said it was $409 to snake the drain. I told him I wasn't sure about what he advised and wanted an estimate in writing. He said ok..I'll be right back..he went to his truck and just drove away. Sooooo I wouldn't trust them.
