Lyn F.Nice service from Roto-Rooter yesterday. I called at 10:30AM, was given a service window of 11AM - 3PM. They called a couple hours into the time to confirm they were still tracking my service and said plumber would be in touch soon. He was. Ended up having to clear main sewer line - $$$ but they gave me the quote up front and based on my research it was competitive. Work was done cleanly and quickly - nice guys (Wayne 108, Mike).
Came out within 2 hours as promised, free estimate as promised, the $315.00 to snake a drain was high I though but what is one to do when they are standing right there ready to clear the drain. Gave a 6 months warranty on the work that it wouldn't clog up again, I should hope not!!!
he was very friendly and informational about trying to make sure it never happened again.
Denise R.I would like to say thank for all the good job. This company are awesome and very helpful. I recommend this company to anyone. Five star for me.
Brandon F.After leaving my last review I was contacted by a Roto-Rep. He was able to compensate me for the lack of work that was done and tried to explain that this situation was not the SOP. After talking on the phone for about twenty minutes I felt that there was a sincere attempt to fix the situation.
When our sewer backed up over the weekend we selected them because they did not charge an additional fee for a weekend call. The serviceman they sent was nice kid but very young and inexperienced. The estimate was $320.00 to snake the sewer line. After six hours on Sunday and one broken toilet later, we were told the manager would arrive the next morning at 8. On Monday morning (had to take off of work) he first checked the city clean-out and then looked for a clean-out up by the house but could not find a clean-out at the house.
The choice was to cut a hole in the sewer line, snake it and patch it for the original estimate of $320.00 or they could install a clean-out for $950.00. I thought it was high but went with it deciding that the first option would need to be addressed eventually and with Thanksgiving around the corner and company coming it need to be done. When they wrote the new ticket, it had the new estimate of $950.00, and added a $90.00 additional charge to clean the sewer line. I told him to drop the $90.00 which he did. After about 4 hours the job was done. They did replace the toilet but I ended up installing it. Not the greatest experience with a company by any means.
12-14-15 The manager called me, concerned that the crew did not re-install the toilet, and refunded us the cost of installing a toilet. I appreciate that they did follow up from the original review which was originally rated at two stars, and tried to make amends to the initial service call.
Shawn Prunty and his trainee came to our house following a sewer back up into our house. Shawn and his trainee were quick, efficient, and courteous, as professional as they could be. I would call them again in a heartbeat. Shawn explained everything as they were fixing the issue and clean up after the repair.
Ernie Smith was the technician who came out just 2 hours after I called. He removed the sand and other things clogging my daughters' shower in just a few minutes. He was very polite and professional. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I felt like the service was too pricey. I understand that they came out on short notice, but I paid $159.00 for a job that took just 15 minutes; and that was after Ernie knocked $100 off the estimate of $259.00. I'm a lawyer, and that's 3 times MY hourly rate.
I moved in to a new home and wanted the washer and dryer relocated from a room in the kitchen into the garage. The house is on a slab so the cement had to be cut. I was scared to think about how much it would cost. I got 3 quotes and Roto Rooter was MUCH less costly than others. The job was done fast and professionally. Looks great! The workers provided excellent customer service when I had questions about the work being done. Overall great experience! Thanks!
Ralph D.I Military and have been away for the past 8 months and rented out my house in Virginia Beach. Usually, I use my snake or rent one from Home-D when tenants flush something they should not have. On 3 occasions in 6months I have had to call Roto-Roter to clear my drain. $370, $290 and $190. On the second clearing, after some complaining for the same drain not being cleared completely, then being charged a month later for the same issue, I was refunded the money. On the last cleaning of the same drain, the plumber, Ernie pulled the toilet, camera'ed the drain and snaked it finding wipes clogging the cast iron pipping. He educated the tenants not to flush wipes in an iron drain system and reduced the charge from $ 300 to $190. Although I've spent close to $600 to clear the same drain over a 6 month period, overall I rate them as upstanding and worthy of saving you in a pinch. I would call no other company besides Roto-Rooter in a crisis when away.
Michael A.I do not recommend this company at all. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate (which I was told was free); the first day they were supposed to come out the technician was 5 hours late. The guy also tried to charge $90 after I was told it was a free estimate. I called to verify the free estimate and told that it in fact was free. Now today I get a call to schedule an appointment for next Friday after I was told the technician would be able to come out and that it would cost me $90. If you like getting the run around use this company, otherwise stay away!
