Michael B.We have a 100 year old Chicago bungalow with a gigantic tree in the path of the waste line, so have to deal with roots clogging the plumbing. After trying several companies, we have stuck with Roto-Rooter because they have the best equipment and are very professional. Last time was able to schedule online and used coupon. Photography of the line condition is now included to help you with Chicago's program to pay for reconstruction of clay pipes beyond the sidewalk to the street.

Spoke with lynette at roto rooter who reached out to me. I was told that technically this job should have been over 800 dollars due to the plumbing repair the technician needed to do. I was not aware that putting the stuff he took apart was an extra charge of $135. As mentioned before, the technician ran to Ace hardware for some glue, I was also told that I was lucky he did not charge me for parts!
All this for snaking out my drain which very promptly made everything work again, SHOULD have cost me over 800, and I was made to feel like I was getting a good deal by only being charged $295. Give me a break. Never again.
Brett C.Our shower was leaking. Armion #601 showed up and did a really good job. He explained to me the different options I had and pricing for each one. He was polite to me and my family and was a true professional. Our shower has never been better and the work was completed in a timely manner.
Don W.Whenever you feel you've been taken advantage of it usually means you have. The tech. showed up two hours late. Then he called another tech to bring camera equipment. Then the two of them tagged teamed me into having a job done at more than double what it should have cost. I did the math and it worked out to almost $400 an hour! Thought I was hiring a plumber not a brain surgeon. I sent certified letter to corporate asking for a detailed explanation of these charges. That letter was signed for more than a week ago without a reply. So although my issues with my plumbing has been resolved I feel I was robbed. So I would not recommend Roto robber to anyone.
Although customer service asked me to reach out to them in their reply to my review it was to no avail.
I suppose that when people see that the company has reached out to you in an attempt to right a wrong they assume that it was taken care of.
Customer service basically gave me a song and dance but no actual explanation for the over charge. My opinion of their company has been further tarnished by this ill fated attempt to cover their tracks.
I called rotor rooter in Lombard because I had a lower level drain that would not drain and began running over. They advertised 24hours emergency service but advised me at 10:00pm they would be there tomorrow morning at 9:00am. Now I'm looking at a drain that is running over throughout the night trying to dump with buckets. The tech arrives and advises they have to remove the toilet to rod the system out and it's $595.00 plus parts. Advised them of access in basement that would allow rodding and not require toilet removal. The tech agreed to $295.00 charge for only rodding through this access area then another tech shows up later with camera for piping and line checks. The 1st tech seemed pretty honest and straight forward and offered a fair price for a professional service. The 2nd and 3rd techs seemed very eager to sell us a complete teardown and rebuild of the house. The bill given was for $495.00 not the $295.00 agreed upon with 1st tech. I explained this to the office manager later, who was not concerned and set on $435.00 that she stated is their set fee. Right !! 2 different prices also. I work hard for the pennies saved to take care of my family. But for a company that advertises a professional service that's actually not is just not right.
Heather C.They arrived at the beginning of the 2-hour arrival window and fixed my problem within about 30 minutes. The staff was friendly, funny and nice.
David A.Jack was fantastic. A little expensive but the service was the best. Jack took care of us and got us ready for the graduation party we were having just hours later. Good stuff. Same day service. Will use them again if needed.
Service man was professional, courteous and explained each service thoroughly. Work completely and all is working well. The cost though, absolutely ridiculous.
Shanele A.I was able to set up and appointment online, and my drain that went to the street was roded in a timely fashion .... A little bit on the pricey side.
I called Roto Rooter because my toilet was clogged.I gave my address and zip code 60643,a decent atea thus they wouldn't have to worry about getting jumped. I was told I'd have to wait until 8am tomorrow morning. WTF. What am I supposed to do until then?! NEVER CALL ROTO ROOTER!
