I called them to fix roots in my sewer line. He couldn't fix it, then he put a camera down there without asking and charged me for it and not only that he said ""I hope you know it's a $50 charge just for me to drive out here"" Nobody told me about any charge, he was here for 15min did nothing and charged me $225 for services I didn't approve of. Never using this company again.

I had a very scary looking mess in my basement---only a few days before Christmas. But the folks at Roto-Rooter were there answering phones and scheduled a service call right away. Josh was very cheerful and friendly when he arrived, even though it was the end of a long day for him. He diagnosed the problem right away and got the drain clear in a snap. He also helped me with the hazmat situation on my floor---truly beyond the call of duty. Roto-Rooter came highly recommended and I can see why. Outstanding, professional service at a fair price. Thank you Roto-Rooter! We had water seeping out of our floors, which is when we realized that our sump pump wasn't working. Josh from the Grand Rapids location was here within an hour and he had the new pump installed within 20 minutes! You guys are awesome! plumber of the year award goes to you Josh. So, I used these guys a while ago when my sewage started rising up into my shower (yes, it was absolutely disgusting). Turns out the problem was that my son had flushed a wet wipe down the toilet (or maybe several) and it had blocked the drain to the sewer. Disgusting. These guys didn't take that long to show up (maybe ~2-3 hours after we called them). It took them maybe an hour to fix the problem which is OK, but my major complaint is that they didn't clean up very well afterwards. My bathroom floor was left covered in gunk and kind of smelly. Maybe it's not their job to clean up afterwards but I felt like it would have been courteous and I would have definitely tipped them for doing so. The guy was nice but you could tell he was kind of tired because it was later at night. I would probably use them again in the future but with different expectations.

Rob and his team are amazing! We had some sewer issues here at work, and 3 other plumbers came out to see what the problem was, but no one wanted to take the time to really figure out the problem. These guys came out figured out exactly the issue and came up with a couple solutions. Issue fixed. Great group of guys, and I know if I ever have any issues here at work, or at my house they will be my first call!

Roto-Rooter provided great, friendly, and confidence-inspiring service.

We came home to a messy sewer backup in the house we'd just bought here in Grand Rapids. It was a Friday night in the middle of a huge snowstorm and deep freeze, and yet Roto-Rooter was able to send their plumber Josh close to midnight--despite subzero temperatures and terrible road conditions.

The cost for snaking and scoping our line after hours was $360--pretty reasonable, when other places had quoted $500 or more. (Credit cards are accepted.)

Josh was a consummate professional, and very personable and friendly to boot. He snaked and scoped our line, cleared out the problem, and identified several plumbing problems to correct--including a small gas leak we hadn't noticed.

When I call service professionals, I always worry they'll be working in a way I don't understand, not explaining what they're doing, or treating their work like a trade secret. In comparison, Josh was empathetic and explained and demonstrated what he was doing. This put our worried minds at ease.

I admit I was a bit skeptical of calling a nationwide chain, but that fear proved unfounded. This particular Roto-Rooter location on Jonquil is a full-service plumbing business (d/b/a Buck Creek Plumbing) with Master Plumbers and can handle a full range of plumbing work, not just drain cleaning.

In the end, Roto-Rooter treated us people to be helped, and not just a problem to be solved. We would definitely call Roto-Rooter for plumbing needs in the future.
