Takes advantage of customers and prices are ridiculously high. Caused me to have to completely replace an entire floor after needlessly cutting a large chunk out of our carpet

$3000.00 to install a water heater, and that's after talking them down from $3500.00. The plumber needed my help to get the old and new water heaters up and down the basement steps. And, I just recently realized that my PVC furnace flue pipe has been cracked at the coupling from the installation of the the water heater.

I had prob with my kitchen sink being clogged before and never paid over $200 to have it snaked, but roto rooter plumber tried to charge me $720!!! I told him no thank you and called Michael and son and was charged only $85!

They came to my house to fix a small leaking in my bathroom and charged me $640 to re-tie the bath drain lid. It was a 15min work then they look at my insurance contract and said the insurance would cover the full recovery (heater and drywall). They called them, filled the claim and the insurance declined after 2 days, so I will have to pay $3000 from my pocket for something that any local plumping company would charge me $200. This company doesn't deserve our respect. Stay way from them.

I hired someone in Wayne County PA by the name of Anthony Martirano. He scheduled my appointment with another person from his team. They were running 3 hours late before I cancelled, make sure to confirm your appointment time. I was waiting all afternoon

Roto-rooters are unknowledgeable, and unprofessional. Even when they send us senior technician they still couldn't fix and issue, charged us thousands of money for new heater and manager wouldn't pick up on us when we tried to reach him, even thought he promised to take care of the issue. they dragged it out until warranty was over. they get negative stars. don't waste your money. find knowledgeable technician not company that will take your money and ignore you.

Khai Dal (#5748) is the best! He was friendly, courteous, and professional and went above and beyond to help me out. He let me watch what he was doing so I could learn how to replace a valve and even attached a new slip nut under my kitchen sink at no additional charge. I really appreciated his kindness and great service!

I don't take time out to write many reviews, good or bad - I usually only find the motivation when a business is so fantastic that they deserve a pat on the back, or so terrible that I feel I have a duty to warn others. I am glad to say that Roto-Rooter (Jessup branch) falls into the first category.
Our kitchen sink was backed up on a Tuesday evening; we noticed it around 8pm. I called Roto-Rooter and was surprised that someone was answering the phone. I was even more surprised when a Roto-Rooter plumber arrived within the hour. His name was Sat G. (Technician #5733) and he was extremely professional and very polite. I appreciated that he wore some plastic ""booties"" over his shoes (like they do on CSI) so that he did not track dirt on our carpets.
I explained the problem and Sat went to work on it. He was able to clear the blockage and we were soon back in business with our kitchen sink. Sat took the time to carefully clean the area below the sink where he had been working.
The following day, I noticed that the grease that had been dislodged from the pipes when our sink was snake had backed up outside in our area drain, outside our basement. The outside area drain was no longer draining, which was a pretty big problem because, once the water level reaches 5"", it can come into our basement. This problem seemed to be connected to the kitchen sink work, so I called Roto-Rooter and asked to speak with a manager. I was put in touch with Ed Clark. After I explained the background, Ed offered to send a technician back to my house to clear the area drain, free of charge. He also took the time to explain how the kitchen and area drain pipes are connected. I was very pleased that Ed and Roto-Rooter agreed to clear my area drain without charging me another fee. I think many plumbers would just say, tough luck buddy.
I took a few minutes to scroll through some of the other reviews for Roto-Rooter. It appears that some folks think the company's prices are too high. I can't speak to that, but for what it's worth, you have to take into account the fact that Roto-Rooter stands behind its work. The nice thing about them is that they seem to be available 24/7, and they will come out and inspect a problem for free and provide a price (in other words, there is no flat fee for a ""service call""). This is in contrast to outfits like Magnolia Plumbing, which I also have used, which charge a $75 fee just to come out and inspect the situation. After the inspection, they offer to do the work for a flat fee (say $350 to snake a line), and if you don't like the price, you can send them away but you feel like your $75 payment was a sunk cost.
I have no affiliation with Roto-Rooter, Magnolia, or any other plumber. I wasn't offered anything, and did not receive anything, for writing a review, and was not asked to write one. They did right by me, and I thought they deserved a pat on the back. Thanks Ed and Sat!

I needed a new shower head installed. I called Roto Rooter and was able to schedule an appointment around my schedule. The technician Dave Bochung was professional, courteous and quick.

I am writing this review with big relief and great GRATITUDE to Mr. John Baunmgart and his Roto-Rooter company located in 7800 Waterloo Rd, Jessup, MD 20794. There are several Roto-rooter offices but this one is truly exceptional.
Drain blocked up in my townhouse over the weekend. A plumber came and snaked out the drain. He told me there were tree roots inside the pipe and the entire pipe needed to be replaced. This guy gave me a high price quote to dig out driveway and replace the pipe. I would have to pay more for the driveway repair afterwards. Worried that sewer could back up again any time soon, I was scrambled to search for a company who could do the job at a reasonable price. Roto-rooter was one of the companies I called. I was so FORTUNATE to be assigned to Mr. John Baunmgart.
John is extremely professional and very easy to communicate with. He was very considerate and patient when I tried to explain my issue over the phone. He made an extra site trip and performed a thorough inspection. I was waiting for his email with price proposal when the phone rang. It was John. He told me that I should contact the utility company because the problems were not on my side. Wow, John is amazing. While other companies tried to get my business and money, John was just focused on diagnosing the problem correctly! Such an honest person! With John's help, I called the utility company and they came to pull roots out of their stack pipe. Now my drainage is running fine. Problem solved!
I am very impressed by John's work ethics. He knew exactly the problem, was courteous, professional, trustworthy, and extremely knowledgeable. Whenever I had questions, he was always quick to respond. I was stressed out during the past few days, until I was in contact with John. He totally eased my concerns and earned my deep respect. I will certainly reach out to John and his roto-rooter in the future if we have any plumbing issues.
Mr. John Baunmgart and his roto-rooter company definitely deserve 10-Stars. BIG THUMP UP. Thank you so much John!!
