Roto-Rooter came same day we called for service. We had two very clogged drains -- sink and bathtub -- and now they are clear and draining perfectly. Technician was prompt, professional, and he explained the estimate, the work, and the process very well. Phone dispatch was also very professional and cordial. Roto-Rooter was a delight to work with, and I'm very grateful for the help and service they provided. I was also very pleased with the pricing structure and fee.

Rotor Rooter charged me $774.00 for two hours of labor to clean out a pipe. The plumber they sent was nice and professional but what a ridiculous fee. That is sheer greed as far as I'm concerned and I will most definitely NOT be using this company again.

Had a clog and called Roto-Rooter. They fixed it. Suggested they take a look at our drain pipe for additional money. Fine.

Their guys looked me in the eye last week and told me that we needed our pipe lined or excavated ( we do) and said, ""I'm sorry, but it's going to be $13,600. I know it's Christmastime, and I hate to give you this news...""

Called around for another opinion to find that they sub-contract the work out. Which we assumed, and thought we would save a couple thousand dollars finding someone on our own. No. Roto-Rooter doubled the cost! We are getting the same work done for $6000.

Please, please, please if you're working with Roto-Rooter and need serious work done, get a second opinion. What a rip-off.

We had a technician - Stephen H - come out to our house late last week to unclog a drain and review water leakage. He was outstanding, went above and beyond what was called for, and took the time to look at an issue, assess the problem and make multiple recommendations for repair ranging in pricing and effectiveness. Stephen was patient when explaining why the issues were happening and willing to go the extra mile to assist me. Next time I need a plumber this will be my first call and I will ask for Stephen.

Have to give the Marlborough MA Roto-Rooter location a 5 star review. We had an urgent situation with a drain snake stuck in our plumbing main drain line (my mistake, I wouldn't recommend DYI on this job unless you really know what you're doing, live and learn) and couldn't use any plumbing in the meantime. My wife called and the receptionist was very nice and set up the appointment for 6pm that day (Saturday). Though Tom showed up a bit late because of a previous job, he stayed until 11pm that night while he removed the snake, and cleared out a very stubbornly blocked up drain line. He was awesome and made additional recommendations for work that needs to be done in the future, but understood that we didn't have the funds to do right now. Everything is up and running perfectly now, thank you Tom! First rate service!

Unreliable and unprofessional

We called today with an urgent need. We chose Roto Rooter because we thought a larger company may have more resources to help quickly. We called at 10 am and were given a 12-4 time frame. Good to go, we thought. But we were called at 3 pm and told they can't help us today after all because they are busy on another job. Now we have waited 5 hours and will have a much harder time finding someone today. In the meantime our tenant is not able to use their toilet. To add insult to injury the person calling had no concern about the situation we are in even when I explained the urgency. It sounded like this is a routine issue for them. I could never have imagined a plumbing company backing out on an appointment for an urgent need. I don't know how they can advertise that they are available 24/7 when they clearly are not.
