Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

As having no previous experience in dealing with plumbers, I don't have much to compare our experience to. However in living in a 6 unit townhouse building and having all units water draining into my basement on a 3 day long weekend, we were desperate. We were given a window of 8a-10a and they arrived at 945a. The technician was great explaining what he thought the problem was and getting right to work. He made good use of time, cleaned up after himself and communicated through his entire time here. He sympathized with our situation and didn't pressure us to get more work done than what we needed. I called Sunday night for a sewer backup because they are open 24hrs 7 days a week, nobody could come until the following morning this was a bit of an inconvenience but I scheduled an appointment anyway. The plumber arrived on time and was very nice everything was going smooth until I got the price, $400 to run the snake down the drain to unplug it! The plumber was not here for more than 45 minutes he got my pipes working again but the price just seemed way to high for 45 minutes worth of work. Overall they did what they were hired to do and I got a 6 month guarantee on the work performed

Let me say the only reason i did not give them 4 stars is because of the slow communication, someone from the office would call to say the tech was on the way should be there in 45 min and he showed up about an 2 hours later...but it was a free estimate... I had a clogged main line to the sewer...eee gads! $700 aprox...The tech said someone would call us in the Morning..Morning comes and no call.. we called about `11:15 am ok so that is worth a star....

Our tech shows up looking neat, well spoken and knowlegdable. Brian M was here for a few hours, he was great! My clog is gone! Water flowing the way it was meant to! And my final bill was $466. not $700!

Yea! Nice Job Roto Rooter....away went my troubles down the drain...

And if I was rating Brian M I'd give him 5 stars! tech 756!

Now I am going to take a long hot shower!

I called RotoRooter because my new kitchen drain line was clogged, I'll review my install plumber later, and I thought since I am doing a lot of other work in this place it'll be quicker/more economical for someone else to snake the line. Turns out that Roto-Rooter will come to your house on a Sunday without any extra cost...in fact they'll come for free to give you an estimate on the work. BONUS!!!! So I asked the person on the phone what a typical kitchen snake job like mine would be, I asked 3 times mind you.

Here's the skinny. The guy shows up and I show him the kitchen line and tell him the plumbing history (very brief, it's all new except the vent and line to the street). He says, ""I can snake that for you right now and give you a 6-month guarantee for $399"". I was like jeez that is a lot of money, is that typical? He says ""We have a flat rate for this service"" WHAT??? If there is a flat rate, then why didn't the guy on the call tell me it when I asked 3 TIMES? RR guy says ""Well, I think they want us to get our foot in the door, because once we are in, people are likely to just say go ahead""

EFF YOU ROTO-ROOTER. I asked the guy to leave. I couldn't snake the line myself which is an issue for the future, BUT, I went onto the roof, poured drano down the stink pipe, rinsed with hot water, and 7 minutes later...NO CLOG. Total repair like $8 in material maybe, some ingenuity, and 2 hours. Way less than a flat rate of $399.

They showed up same day which was helpful, and the two techs could answer all my questions. It's a bummer they can't give an estimated quote over the phone. Like any other business, a customer wants to shop around to get best prices.

Fast, courteous, and reliable. Had roots that caused a major clog. They came the same day I called and were able to fix the problem that same day. Had been calling plumber all day with no luck. Our tech Aaron was able to give us options to further treat and prevent this from happening again.

I called Roto- Rooter yesterday to unclog a toliet line. A technician did come promptly and attempted to unclog. Last night I noticed the water was still going down very slow. I called Roto-Rooter back this morning and explained the situation.
The person I spoke to on the phone was very nice, polite and accomodating.
This afternoon Aaron came and evaluated the situation. It turns out he had to remove the toliet and found the clog way down the line. He put on a new wax ring and replaced the toliet. He tested the line several times to be sure it worked. Aaron was very informative about the situation. He also mentioned we may want to try the Roto-Rooter product that you use 1-2x month to keep lines clear.
Aaron also explained the fee. We got a refund from yesterday's bill on todays.
I was very pleased with the service today.
Aaron was very knowledgable, polite and neat.
I would ask for him again if I needed Roto- Rooter service.

I request a visit on their website site in the morning for a time between 2 and 4 pm. He tech was there at 2:20 and within a hour he had my problem cleared and water was flowing. Aaron did a great job and I would call them back again.

Got a confirmed appointment 3 days earlier for Monday between 8 and 12. Waited in my house for 4 hours. Nothing. Called, and was told that they would be delayed by another 1 to 2 hours. An hour and 45 minutes later, I get a call saying that their technicians are running behind, and will not be able to make it today. After waiting for them for 6 hours to get that message, I called another plumber. The other plumber was at my house in 15 minutes........

I will never call Roto Rooter again.

My kitchen sink drain was clogged and I couldn't get it to empty. I called and they set up an appointment for the next morning and showed up when they said they would. They cleared the clog and gave me suggestions as to better proper care of the drains in the house. The cost was reasonable for the work performed. I will continue using Roto-Rooter for my plumbing needs.
