Replacing kitchen sink, bathroom sink, tub undersized copper, noisy banging copper pipes to 2 inch PVC. The system clogged and food disposal never work properly.

Dennis tech # 5125 arrived in 90 plus degree weather to re-pipe the system. We walk through the copper piping system. He was very knowledgeable on transitioning copper to a PVC piping system. From plumbing code requirements, to clean outs, to layouts, returning the new PVC system to a cast iron waste system. He inspected the cast iron piping.

I felt very comfortable with his experience and told him to go to town.

The work was outstanding.

Awful company. Had them to the house twice, should've learned after the first experience that this company sucks. First time, we needed a dishwasher hooked up. Due to the layout of our kitchen, it was not going to be directly next to the sink, which caused all kinds of problems for the tech. He quoted me at over 600 for the install and labor to cut through cabinets, which I thought was unnecessary. Brought a local plumber in and he did it for 300, and he didn't need to cut through cabinets. Second time, had a serious clog, with the sink backing up. Didn't have much of a choice, so I had them come in and they did say it would be 475 for the service plus their version of Drano. I figured it was a bad clog and it would take some time.....less than 45 mins later the 2 techs were done with the job...haven't had an issue since but it seems like an insane amount of money for 45 mins worth of work....1 tech did the work while 1 chatted with me...this place is terrible....go local and you'll get better service for cheaper.

I Had a severe, unexpected blockage that caused a toilet to back up, and raw sewage to emerge from a shower drain. Happened on a weekend. The RR RI website is a bit misleading. Although I clicked ""RR Wakefield RI"" the service guys were apparently based in Providence. Ended up not making a difference. Called RR midday Sunday, and by 3PM an estimator, Mike, showed up. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and also wanted to make sure I knew about the full range of RR services, not all of which I decided to use. He quoted me a price, which was about twice as high as a local plumber would have given me on an estimate. However, I was sold on RR because he told me about the new high tech cameras on their snakes that were being used. I also knew that because the linear footage of the pipes was long, local plumbers might not have the equipment to handle it.

We agreed on the job and the price, and the arrival time of the plumber was set at 3:15-7:15 PM the same day. At 7:16 PM I got a call saying their people were ""backed up"", and it might be another 2 hours. This was not possible for me, but by this time, it was no longer an emergency call-we simply didn't use any plumbing fixtures on the addition side of the house where it appeared, and had other bathrooms that were not affected.

We reset a time for 8:00 AM next day, and the tech Chris showed up 10 minutes early, after calling in advance exactly as promised. The situation was complex, and Chris and I developed an ""hypothesis"" about where the clog might be, although what caused it was still a mystery (I contracted the house myself, so knew a little about plumbing). It was not an easy job for a variety of reasons, but Chris worked his b--- off, and eventually we found the cause--""flushable"" wipes, and the new generation of softer, thicker TP that does not break up as fast as the old stuff. I checked it out on Consumer Reports, and those products should not be allowed on the market. What was especially impressive to me was that Chris THOUGHT about the task before starting it-something you rarely see these days.

Turned out there was some unavoidable spillage of sewage on the basement floor because of the severity of the blockage-the pipes were actually full, but Chris was more than diligent in getting it all cleaned up. It took longer than anyone expected, but because of the flat rate, the price ended up being the same or a little cheaper than if I had used a local guy by the hour. In general, I""m more than satisfied. A few small disappointments-as mentioned, the website is a little misleading. One has the impression that there is actually a physical location in Wakefield, but evidently everything runs from the north. This means maybe an hour of travel time has to be built into the flat rate price, so the price would have to be higher. As it turned out, it didn't matter, because the job itself took longer than anticipated and I actually ended up being a little ahead. The fancy camera, one of the reasons I selected RR, was not available for my job. Again, didn't make a difference because Chris was able to resolve it the old-fashioned way.

Bottom line--the job was professionally done at the agreed upon price, and both Chris the tech and Mike the estimator were outstanding and professional--RR is lucky to have them.

A sudden back up of sewage into the downstairs shower was not fun. RotoRooter's employee, Chris Eldridge (Service Tech #4635), was dispatched quickly after I called for help. I appreciated his humor and professionalism as he cleared the main line with a long, heavy duty, electric snake. He came back a few days later with a sewer camera and gave a thorough colonoscopy to my house. Yes, bush and tree roots, and bellied line means something has to be done. Haven't received an estimate yet for the various approaches to the problem. So far, my experience has been this company has been a good one.

Revised the 5 stars to 3 stars: this service cost over $1000. I thought at the time it was typical. Ooooh no, not by a long shot. I had a back up again and a friend told me to call another business. Only $225 and it was an emergency and on a Sunday. Why so much, RotoRooter?

Came out to my home to install a water filter. The cut in had already been done, all the job required was six elbows and four foot of cooper pipe. I used these guys because the filter vender said they had experience hooking up these filters. The two techs told me they had no idea how to do the job but put a quote in front of me for $795.00 plus a service fee and tax. I was shocked at the price and refused to let them do the job. Hired a local plumber and he did the job for $235.00.

Matt(3119) was excellent, he worked quickly and was right on time for when his dispatcher said he would be there. At 6:00pm, We had a clogged second floor toilet and we tried all we could, but in the end we needed a Rooter. They were willing to come out with no extra charge on an evening call. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks again.

After trying some local places in which they simply didn't call back or showed up for a fee and never corrected the problem, I decided that maybe I needed the national brand: Roto-Rooter. He was a little late but dispatch let me know what was going on which I appreciated. Without a ""show-up fee,"" Ed was able to diagnose my issue in less than 5 minutes. I'm not even kidding. Two different plumbers, multiple friends - and Ed figured it out in less than 5 minutes. I won't bother describing the problem in detail but only mention that septic fumes were entering the house - which is unsafe and unhealthy. He was able to go get parts right away and returned to correct problem which included installation of two mechanical vents. Since then, no problems at all. There was a bit of a mess to clean up in the basement due to some drilling and some replacement of basement ceiling tiles that wasn't done but all in all a very good experience.

Our service technician James Tavares showed up and was very polite. He quickly assessed the problem explained the process and gave us a quote. His appearance and attitude were very professional. As he was doing the work he explained every step so that my 75 year old father could understand what was being done. James deserves 5 stars for everything he did!!! The 4 star rating reflects the pricing of the service provided as I am sure the technician has no control over. I am aware it was Sunday evening but $475 for 90 minutes of work...that's pretty pricey!!! James Tavares tech# 3117 you ROCK Man!!!! Thank you for a very pleasant experience!!!
