Nobody wants to call a plumber at 9:30 on a Sunday night. But that's what we had to do. They responded within 30 minutes and had the problem fixed in an hour. No hard sell for additional services and the price was clear right from the beginning.

My normal go to plumber was backed up and it was a Sunday when I realized my kitchen sink was backed up. I promptly removed all the pipes under the sink and removed as much of the clog As I could reach back into the wall. Called Roto Rooter out and they were out in a few hours. Now I realize they are on call and convenient but after I was charged $280.00 for a simple kitchen line clear and my local plumber told me it was a $120.00 initial charge (unfortunately after the fact) I felt more than a bit violated. I cannot believe the few reviews here give them a good rating. Now let me tell you it only took him 10 minutes to do the job. Google Roto Rooter consumer affairs and read away. This service was not considered after hours or an emergency so I dare any certified plumber to tell me this was more than an excessive charge. You can buy a really good snake at Lowes for about $500.00 which is what I should have done. Shame on me. Now in business you usually like to gain the trust of your customer for repeat business which obviously secures your revenue and well being but after visiting consumer affairs and reading the ridiculous charges people were asked to pay And noting my own experience I have hard time believing this business will be around too much longer in today's economical strife. Never again will I visit the services of Roto Rooter. If you live in KOI area I highly recommend calling ""Professional Plumbing Services"" Joe Barry 513-573-4639 for professional and affordable service. He will often tell you over the phone what needs to be done if you feel you can handle it.

I had the worst service here ever. They promise a warranty on cleaning your lines, and but don't tell you a camera down the line by their own technicians will void your warranty.

Don't ever use them, save your money and get someone else.

The plumber, Matt #2719, was friendly and on time. The job turned out to be bigger than expected (as we discovered a couple of days later), but since we called him to do a drain clean, I won't dock him any more stars.

I had water leaking out of the drain stack from my upstairs bathrooms, so I called Roto Rooter, as I had them do other work a few years back. I had an appointment time of 8 -10 AM. Nobody actually arrived until 2 PM. When the 'plumber' arrived, he informed me it would be $209 an hour to locate the leak. I didn't understand this since I already told him where the leak was. I just wanted an estimate of what it would take to replace the pipe. But whatever, it should take one minute to locate the pipe.

The 'plumber' decided that in order to locate the pipe in the wall he would have to hammer three holes through drywall and plaster walls. The first two weren't even on the same wall as the pipe! This all took about 15 to 20 minutes. The 'plumber' then said he needed to call another 'plumber' to figure out how to replace this pipe. 30 minutes later he returned from his vehicle with an estimate of 1700 - 2200 to replace the pipe. Because the 'plumber' didn't seem sure of himself, wasn't even sure how to replace the pipe, and didn't have an action plan, I sent him on his way. But before he would leave, I had to pay for his time....an hours worth of time.....to create three holes in my wall that I would have to repair. That cost 209 bucks!

I should note that I did fill out a survey on Roto-Rooter's website, but received no response. I brought in three other plumbers to get estimates, all were 500-1000 less than Roto-Rooter. And were all real plumbers (I don't know for sure if the guy from Roto-Rooter was a real plumber, but he sure didn't seem like one. I think all he could do is unclog a toilet...well, maybe not even that), and had action plans that night on how to replace the pipe (required taking down cabinets in the kitchen and removing part of the wall to access the pipe). The plumber I chose to use also repaired all the damage he and Roto-Rooter created.

I would NEVER recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone.

I will never use Roto Rooter or recommend them to anyone! What a mess the technician made of a ""simple fix"" according to him. All I needed done was to have him replace an old hot water hose with a new one to connect to my washer. He told me this was an easy fix. well 24 hours later with no water, a broken water faucet because he broke it when trying to unscrew it, and a 12x12 hole in my drywall....it still was not fixed. The technician I had was unprofessional and incompetent. He even told me that he specifically asked to work 2nd shift so that he would not have to do plumbing! Really??? and this guy is doing plumbing in my house!! After 4 hours of trying to fix the problem he made, he had to come back the next day and I had no water. I called Roto Rooter, filed a complaint and requested a new technician. That never happened. The same guy came knocking on my door. I needed to have my water turned on and the issue fixed, so I let him correct his mistake. When he finished he tried to charge me for the parts he bought to fix the problem he made.....I had the hose, there were no parts needed until he broke the faucet, which was due to his imcompetence. Now I am stuck with a 12x12 hole in my drywall. This was my 1st and last time using Roto Rooter. Before all of this happened I had him look at my garbage disposal. He said it was broke and it would cost me $500!!! that is ridiculous. I had a friend come over to look at it and he fixed it in 2 minutes....it was a simple clog. Roto Rooter wanted to charge me $500!!!! All it cost me was a 6 pack of beer to my friend and it was fixed in 2 minutes. The company is a scam, the technicians are not trained (my technician even told me that after he came back from his 30 minute lunch he took on my time). Do not use this company!

Was pleasantly surprised that Sunday service was available and prompt. My 5 year-old daughter deposited a full grown fecal bomb creating a clog that my plunger couldn't handle. Technician Zach (0181) was professional, prompt and efficient. He handled my problem with a positive attitude. Service was a little pricier than I anticipated, but considering the nature of the problem and the urgent need for service, it was worth it. I would use them again

Thorough, professional service - very helpful advice and direction provided to better understand how to maintain our main/sewage pipe. Yet a little pricey.
