Is there a zero star because that is what I would give Carlos after I paid him $450 to clear a drain and three hours after he left it was plugged again and to make matters worse, while on the phone to ""corporate"" he complained how he wasn't going to give this job much effort because $450 was not enough to charge for 40 minutes of actual work. Carlos looked like he was about 19 years old so I dont know how you get to be so arrogant without any real life experiences. I will never call them again. I should have gone with A1 but thought that I would take the first company to respond because I had sewage backing up and it was an emergency. Bottom line, if you get a technician from Roto Rooters and his name is Carlos, run away, fast and call their competitor, A1 Drain.

water restoration team specifically

Transparency beyond lacking with oversold description of estimates and lack of call back when needing questions answered. I was extremely frustrated with the lack of communication during the process as things changed from what was originally told. Billing then called without showing and invoice to collect and when I asked questions they were unsure what all the charges meant and told me to wait for invoice. They continued to pushback via email only when told them repeatedly what was told to me on a ""daily estimated"" range and acted as if it was my misunderstanding rather then their sales team setting a false expectation. further damaged baseboard we were told they would do their best to keep in tact and they managed to damage all four with no update they just took them away and trashed them and all the customer service team had to say was ""ya it was trashed"" with not even an apology, just blaming me again for a miscommunication.

Will give 5 stars to our repair Man that replaced the toilet, Chris, amazingly nice, helped with all questions and updated me regularly on process. helped with picking out new toilet. Absolutely recommend him!

This is a ""done"" job. I was offered a deal to ""make it right"" for $3900 because the president of the company had already too much concession loss. So after a full 6 days of work and 9 days of headache I must say I didn't feel comfortable agreeing. The only reason there is a star is even through the obvious unacceptable work their attitude/professionalism did not change. Feel free to ask all the questions and I will answer. My review will be posted across multiple websites (yelp, Angie's list, etc) I plan on contacting the local news station as well. Disappointed is an understatement.
The original agreement was $2100 in exchange for an install of a new vanity that I purchased and a shower that they provided. I also provided all the fixtures for the shower and some of their materials needed. The quote also had new pipes/plumbing and valve included. This was a free estimate where they sent a member to my house explained the process in the breakdown which we agreed. They couldn't fit the shower in the doorway, day two they needed to jackhammer the floor and up charge me because they didn't consider that in the initial quote , which I agreed to, third day was a reject hammer because the "" Drain was clogged and there was a P-trap underground"", They four was finishing up the framing of the shower because I needed to provide two by fours, day five was the finish product. Once their manager arrived on the scene, there was obvious issues. They were to come back on Monday to finish the job the right way. My husband requested them to stop and no longer do any business with them just requesting the replace the damaged vanity and had our carpets cleaned. on Tuesday, Roto-Rooter had the shower taken out and left me with a blank canvas at step one all over again. This entire process and week long headache was for nothing but a basement that now smells like mildew from standing water.

Requested some help to see what could be done with my water heater to fix it. They indicated that a $375 charge was going to be applied to troubleshoot. I obliged. They then proceeded to try the same thing i did and then tell me that they couldn't work on the water heater because it was greater than 10 years old and told me to replace it.

UPDATE: After speaking with someone locally, I was refunded the amount as they were in agreement. Raising my stars from a 1 to 4!

I had a leak, instead of sending a plumber to repair it they sent someone to take pictures. I was told they would have someone out within the hour. I never imagined it would be someone who didn't know the difference between an Allen and machine screw. 3 hours later still no plumber and 5 figure damage to my home. Any lawyers know if I have a case here?

We had Roto Rooter out to clear a clogged main. They snaked the drain and said that it was showing grease on the line and it would have to be water jetted. The company sent out additional people to do this set. Once here they completed the water jetting and were able to free the clog but stated that the upstairs could not be used do to a broken fitting the they could see with the camera. they further stated that the pvc pipe met up with a older galvanized section that had failed due to most likely age. We were told that the concrete would have to be removed and the fitting repaired before the upstairs could be used. We removed the concrete and found that there was no galvanized piping and it was all pvc. It looked as if the 90' fitting had been punched out the size of a golf ball. We believe that this was caused by the original technician when he was running the auger down the pipe from the clean out. I contacted another plumber and it was there opinion that this was most likely what had occurred. We reached out to Roto Rooter multiple times and once able to speak to them we were told that they have a no harm policy that protects them and that they could do nothing to help. It was also stated that they do not believe that it was caused by them.
Be careful when calling them to fix your issues that they do not create bigger ones.
I do not recommend them for any jobs as they do not stand behind their work!!

We had water damage from an upstairs bathroom a month ago and had Roto Rooter's Water Mitigation team come out to help. We were disappointed with their service to say the least. They were very careless with our home and caused additional damage that was unnecessary when taking out the affected drywall and flooring. This damage includes cracked and crumbling drywall, carpet being ripped, and a splintered door frame. They also used dozens of large staples in our ceilings and doorframes that will cost us time and money. They also allowed a large amount of debris from their actions to fall into the bathroom air duct. The contracting company we hired to repair our home was appalled at the state Roto Rooter left our house in, specifically the unnecessary damage they caused. We are still in the process of getting our home put back together and I just decided I've held my tongue long enough. I urge you to go somewhere else if you experience water damage.

On Wed, Feb.7, I called Roto-Rooter for a cleanout of my slow, functioning sewer line. The technician came same-day, 5pm, and quoted me at $650, which seemed high but I agreed to. He got his line stuck 40 ft in, he was unable to retrieve it, and so had to return the next day to try and retrieve it. Giving me the night without the ability to flush the toilet.
On Thur, Feb.8, the tech returned with his team leader, and the team leader tried to retrieve the line, unsuccessfully. They then called another team lead to locate the stuck line. It was located under my driveway. I was then informed that I could pay them $5100 to cut a hole in my driveway to retrieve THEIR equipment, or they could leave it in there, and my house would be condemned. So I signed, under extreme duress, and under an implied threat of house condemnation.
They assumed that I had a collapsed sewer line that had ""grabbed"" their line, but my sewer line was fine. It was full of roots, which their line had gotten stuck in, but nowhere was it collapsed.
They did not finish the job until Fri, Feb.9. I now have a running line, and a new sewer line cleanout in my driveway, but it's filled in with gravel, and they didn't even try to make the gravel level with the concrete. They didn't even clean up the paint they put in the street and the driveway and the yard.
On Friday, I tried to find ways to get a discount, considering it was their machinery they were recovering. Charge me for the cleanout and the new piping, but not for the excavation and retrieval. I even offered to do the cleanup of the dirt and concrete myself if that would save me some money. Got nowhere, not even $100 discount.
The manager would not even give me $100 for getting HIS equipment stuck in MY sewer line. An extremely unpleasant person, felt like I was talking to a KC mob member.
This company will destroy your house and then grossly overcharge you to fix it. DO NOT LET THEM INSIDE YOUR HOUSE!
