Amber Y.Our house flooded a couple weeks ago and the pipes needed to be looked at and declogged. We called and they were out within a couple days. Fair price. Except the two men that came to clean out the drains were messy and left a big pile of dirty water on the floor along their foot prints all over the bathroom. Didn't offer to clean it up. The pipes were somewhat cleaned out but still having clogging problems. I called back to have them come back out and finish what they started and they said they'd call me back to reschedule and never did. We just moved on and fixed the problems ourselves. But would've liked to have them fix the problem I paid them for.
Use anyone but Roto-rooter. This is the literally the worst experience I've ever had with a service company. So here it is day three of waiting for Roto-rooter to finish a job that should have been done in one day. The plumber finally showed up Saturday late afternoon. Again, he didn't want to rod the drain. A supervisor came out with a camera and said drain couldn't be rodded, there was obviously a break in it and it had to be replaced. The excavation team would be out to replace the damaged pipe and then they would hydroblast it the same day and the job would be done that day. The excavation team just left, they had to cut the pipe out because there was no break in it. They left with the pipe open and said the hydroblast team might be out tonight but more likely tomorrow before they can finish the job. This leaves me with a large hole in my yard along with the grass torn up by the excavator (they should have put plywood down but didn't) and my dogs cannot go out in the backyard due to the mess. I cannot take Monday off work so who knows if they will finish and what kind of job they will do. The supervisor said they wouldn't hydroblast toward the house as they could damage the copper drain pipe going to my sump pump, sinks, etc. The excavator said they would hydroblast toward the house. Guess that enables them to make more money when they damage systems. They charged me $8533.26 for something they claimed had to be done, but in listening to the excavator team, probably not. What should have been done in one day, is going into four days! If I had more time, I would have used Mr. Plumber like my neighbor as he got a quote in the thousands for rodding his drain. Then called Mr. Plumber and the guy said nonsense and was able to rod the drains for a few hundred dollars. He said in looking at the system, what the other plumber recommended was not needed. It seems I got the not needed deal by roto-rooter. My advice: DO NOT USE ROTO-ROOTER! They overcharge, do unneeded work by creating a false sense of disaster(oh if you don't do this your basement is going to be ruined) and don't care if you're a military vet (I am, they know), older person (almost 60) or times are hard for everyone. Sure the employees are nice and polite when they come out to not do the work (except excavation team, they did the work). But, a hooker is nice when she is taking your money and screwing you too!
Do not do business with this company!!! I called them out because my hot water tank was leaking. They came out and tried to overcharge me by 2X the actual price for installation of a new heater plus charge me for the estimate! They tried to tell me I needed new pipes also when the house is only 15 years old! Stay away!!!
