I had a clogged drain and needed somebody quick. I chose Roto-Rooter because of the free estimate. They were quick and a reliable. The only issue was that they seemed overpriced. $265 for simply unclogging a backed up toilet? I could have found someone much cheaper, but chose Roto because they were fast. I will choose somebody else next time. Robert was nice and professional though.

Had the worst experience with both the labor and customer service at my small business. They charged me $315 to fix a leaky valve on toilet that took 10 minutes and 24.63 in total parts. They called it a ""flat rate"" so whether I needed a small fix like this one-or a bigger issue resolved there was nothing in the middle. They also quoted over 1k to clean up the pool of water in bathroom. It was deceptive and shady business practice in my opinion and would NEVER advise using their company.

Horrible Experience - I am not even sure how a company can treat people this way. I had a clog in my sewer line on Sunday. The plumber I wanted to use was not available that day so I decided to try Roto Rooter (BIG MISTAKE). Brandon snaked the main drain and the toilet rough in the basement (had to remove the cap to the toilet rough in to snake) and handed me an invoice that said line was clear AND there was a 6 month guarantee. Later Jason K. stopped by to do a camera view in our sewer line. Tried to sell me a $14,000 pipe in my front yard because per Jason my sewer pipe needed to be replaced). I declined. After Jason left I took a shower and my brother yelled from the basement that it was flooding with SEWER water - that black sludge. Apparently Brandon left the cap off the rough in toilet in the basement (which is there to hold back the sewer water). I immediately called Jason and he advised he would be over soon. Jason showed up and said I was told I needed to replace the pipe in my front yard. Of course the cause of the flood with sewage was due to the cap being left off the rough toilet - which is where the flood came in while I took a shower. He reluctantly put the cap back on the rough in toilet, never said sorry for the error and proceeded to tell me their restoration company could clean it and bill MY insurance company. I do want to point out that I did have about 20% CLEAR water from a 'run off pipe (not sure what it is called) in my basement when I called Roto-Rooter (easy homeowner clean-up). Now I have 50% raw sewage in my basement. I told him the mistake was on the part of Roto Rooter and THEIR insurance needs to pay. Asking me to put on my insurance is insurance fraud for a mistake they made. Roto Rooter even told me that they would be more than willing to come back to my house the next day and sit with me while I called my insurance so that they could 'assist' me on what to say to get them to pay. I asked Jason K. about my 6 month guarantee and he said I will get my $400 paid back out of the $14,000 when they replace the sewer pipe and NOT to use my water anymore. Once I said I was not going to replace my pipe with them they stopped talking to me and will not honor their 6 month guarantee OR clean the sludge out of my basement OR refund my money.
By the way - I have since taken showers, flushed toilets, done it all and not ONE issue with flooding. All a bunch of con artists. Sure when things go great I am sure things are fine with Roto Rooter but when you have a problem they turn away and don't care. Do your research on the internet on the bad experiences and you will see what I mean. They do NOT stand behind their work, their guarantee, their anything. I was treated with a sugar sweet kindness when they wanted me to put in a $14,000 sewer pipe but once there was a problem they treated me with a 'who cares' and 'not our problem' type of attitude. Horrible people

Only good thing was they gave a free estimate. Although if I has listened to them I would have been out $3200 rather than the $3 it cost to fix my issue. Issue: had a water leak street side in my meter pit it took the plumber over an hour to pump the water out because he didn't turn it off first and it was leaking at almost the same rate as he was pumping it out. The small cap on the stop waste valve was missing to which he told me they no longer make. So they would have to completely dig up the pit and replace everything and he quoted me $3200. I said I needed to get a second estimate so he left. So I went to Menards and bought a new stop waste valve (ya know, the ones they no longer make) and took the cap off and replaced the one that was missing. Not too mention I shut the water off and hand dipped it out with a cup in a fraction of the time it took him to pump it. It's hard telling how many people have been taken advantage of by this company. If I hadn't been standing there to see the issue I would have trusted that he was being honest. It's businesses like this that make it had to trust anyone.

First time using Roto-Rooter and I am confident I am not using them again. I have two outside Spigots with low water pressure. I thought maybe there is something that can be done to improve it since I will like to setup a timer for my lawn. I called them and they said someone will be out to look at it without letting me know there is a fee. I thought this will be a free estimate.
A tech came out, spent about 10 minutes maybe less to test the spray to see what the pressure is like. He decided to use an extra hose in his truck to test the pressure because the one I have does have some kinks in it. After this, he said I need to replace the hose.
He then said that will be a $85 charge. What?? To tell me there is a kink in my hose? I already knew that! This is a lesson to always be CLEAR and ASK questions about fees before letting any professional come out. Typically others will let you know there is a fee for any minor repair (which my case does not constitute any repair) before they come out. Never using them again.

Do not EVER use roto-rooter. They tried to charge us 2100 for a new sump pump and we got a different quote for 1200. Also, the plumber spent an hour and a half getting parts at the hardware store, charged us double for the parts, spent 40 min calculating the bill, then tried to charge us for ALL of that time. NEVER AGAIN!

First of all, the lady who answered the phone was not friendly or helpful at all. Then, they sent someone out who was not prepared for the job requested and did not have the equipment. He did not even have an understanding of the job requested. I had the feeling they wanted to go ahead and clean the drain without looking with a camera to diagnose it first so that they could charge for this.

I had my garbage disposal replaced (I provided the garbage disposal so no additional parts or anything were needed.. just the cost of labor) and the bill for an hour of work was $399! Brain surgeons get paid less per hour! Ridiculous prices.

My advice to you If you have a plumbing emergency is not to call this company. Very unreliable. I called them at 3:50 pm and they promised to have a plumber at my house within 2 hours. At 6:30 pm still no show and no call. I called again and was told that dispatch will be calling me in few minutes with an ETA. No call. At 7:20 pm I called again and was told that the plumber is heading my way. I finally gave up and called again at 8:50 pm (4 hours from my initial call) to cancel the service. I will never call this company again. Very frustrating.

One of the absolute WORST customer service experiences ever. Was told (and I also have email confirmation) that someone would be at my house between 5pm and 7pm. Now after 9pm, and still no one here! I called to inquire, and Kesha displayed the most deplorable customer service. No empathy, no answers, and no resolution. Better Business Bureau here I come!
