We had an emergency situation and our local plumber could not come out that day so we contacted Roto-Rooter to do the job. They arrived in a few hours and Leonard was able to address the situation. He was pleasant and explained the process to us. Their rates are a bit higher than using an independent plumber but in an emergency situation I would definitely use them again.
Omar O.Update:
First, kudos to Roto Rooter for keeping tabs on their Yelp reviews!
I spoke to Wyatt after the complaint was registered. He let me know the insurance initially paid out their estimate before the exact amount was given to them. Long story short, they are adjusting the invoice and I'm just going to be responsible for my $1000 deductible!
Great follow up and service.
Horrible. Total rip off. Charged me double what my neighbors paid for the same service. Definitely do not call these guys if you want to get a fair deal.
If I could give Zero starts I would
Our toilet was not flushing properly so we called around to about 5 other companies before we finally called Roto-Rooter. They were able to come out that day. The tech came out and ""believed"" they solved the problem and handed us a $575 bill. Not even one week later we had the same problem. The came back out for free (gee thanks) This time a tech and a field supervisor came out at 8pm. Long story short we ended up with 2 techs and 2 supervisors in our house until after midnight.
Then they decided that the rod that THEY got stuck in our drain was not going to come out. Their answer, the toilet drain is not really the proper way to do this (thanks for telling us now) and that we needed to have a clean-out installed (for $4700 -5400) then they could get their equipment out and see what else they can find at that point. And they wanted us to commit to it at 12:30 in the morning with 4 people staring at us.
Fast forward we contacted another excavator to put in the clean-out. Their bill was only $1800 and the other rooting company we had come out only charged us $150 to do the job that this company had charged us $575. Every company we spoke with shared horror stories of cleaning up Roto-Rooter messes and how every customer was grossly overcharged.
We were also told that the experience was very similar to what others have relayed and it seems to be their MO to overcharge and then try to pressure customers into even more expenses ""fixes""
Oh and I cannot forget the damage to our bathroom wall or the trim around our crawl space.
We had a back up from our garbage disposal and called these guys! Fast, courteous response they sent Manny... he was wonderful, explained everything did a thorough job. No more back up! Would use them again and I'll be asking for Manny.
Stay clear of this company. They are a classic bait and switch company. Their quick response time is impressive and leads you to believe that they are extremely responsive. However after they get a contract and 50% deposit upfront before any work is done, they are slow to respond and complete the work. Additionally their investigative work to determine the problem was wrong which caused the project to be prolonged and cost 3x more than the initial bid. STAY CLEAR!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Michael C.Just an update. It looks very impressive when the company responds so quickly. When I contacted the business manager, he informed me there was nothing he could do since I hired an attorney. Which was already stated in my first review. So it's obvious that the quick response is another deception.
I called Roto-Rooter to come to my home to provide an estimate for a very slow leak under my sink. It was not an emergency situation by any means, but the technician was able to be at my home within an hour, which I thought was great. The plumber showed up within the time frame, but completely rushed through everything. He barely looked under the sink and then told me all the plumbing under the sink needed to be replaced. He said it would cost $500. There was no rhyme or reason to this random number he provided. He literally could not wait to get out of my house. From start to finish, I think he was there for 4 minutes. He didn't provide me with a written estimate for service, just the ransom $500 figure he made up. I told him I was going to call around for more estimates.
A couple days later, I remembered a friend from high school was a plumber. He came out, spent about two minutes on the sink screwing in a loose part, and it was fixed. No more leak.
Had I listened to Roto-Rooter, I would be out $500 and needlessly replaced all my plumbing for no reason. I would NEVER trust this company to do any work in my home. Terrible experience overall. There are plenty of other honest companies out there than to settle for these crooks.
I was looking for a plumber to take care of a small leak on may shower faucet. Upon taking a quick glance he quoted me $1350. It's a job that wouldn't require more that an hour of work and some pipe that basically needed to be soldered. the technician (Armion #601) gave me the impression that he made the issue look more complicated than it actually is . Kinda like when you take your car to certain mechanics shops .
If it's not an emergency don't waste your time.
Adrianne K.Bob was awesome, told us everything we needed, we had a faulty line running from our house to the main sewage line, which had not been replaced probably since the house was built, they came over on a holiday weekend, roto tilled the line, and was able to find the problem. Although, a very pricey repair, bob, Jason, and Tyler were all awesome. I am hoping I never see them again, because if I do, that means they didn't fix the problem... However, besides the yard being a bit ate up, water is flowing like it did 40 years ago. Thanks
