Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Had about 8 inches of water in my crawl space, old sump pump gave out so I called Roto-Rooter. Tech #3145, Don, came out and pumped out my standing water. I had already gotten a new sump pump that he quickly installed after my crawl was dry again. He was a very nice, extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with. I have a 3 year old and a 7 year old that like to help (get in the way) so I had painting projects and baked cookies while he was here to distract them. Even as they gravitated to him he was awesome with them. I would highly recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone needing help with plumbing issues in their home.

Who doesn't like to begin Thanksgiving Day with 5 lbs of pulled pork stuck in the pipes?! No kitchen sink. No use of a dishwasher. And dishes piling up in the basement kitchen because at least that sink would drain. --No dishwasher or disposal down there but beggars can't be choosers when you're eating on disposable plates when it should be Grandma's china!!

After 3 different ""snakes"", several blasts of CO2, reversal with the wet/dry vac, taking the pipes apart, and stinking up my house with the most horrendous smells imaginable, it was time to throw in the towel.

I called Roto-Rooter at 10pm Thanksgiving night and by 11:30am the next day, my pipes were clean. For the tune of $435. No, not cheap but they guarantee your pipes for 6 months. And one cannot put a price on removing stinky standing water from your kitchen sinks.

He gave us tips. I appreciated it that none of the tips were ""Don't try to flush 5 lbs of meat down your pipes!"" --I think by now, I know that one. ;) But one tip is that once a week, you should fill your sink up with just water and then flip the switch to the disposal. Will keep your pipes flushed.

And after seeing what was dripping out of our pipes, I didn't even blink when he told me about the product they sell ""Roto-Rooter Shield"". A preventive maintenance that digests greases, soaps, fats, and detergents. $60, but lasts for a year.

Better to flush the kitchen sink once a week as he suggests and to use the Pipe Shield once a month (Oh, and don't push 5 lbs of pork down your disposal), than to ever experience a Thanksgiving without a sink or dishwasher EVER again.

Now to collect the dishes from the basement.

I attempted to clear my basement drain pipe with concentrated sulphuric acid and a hardware store bought rooter to no avail. I called Roto Rooter and the arrived within 1.5 hours and cleared the drain fast. Felipe (employee 3033) did a great job and gave me some helpful hints. If this happens again I will not waste money on hardware store products and just simply call Roto Rooter. Thanks Roto Rooter!!!

We have a 100 year old Chicago bungalow with a gigantic tree in the path of the waste line, so have to deal with roots clogging the plumbing. After trying several companies, we have stuck with Roto-Rooter because they have the best equipment and are very professional. Last time was able to schedule online and used coupon. Photography of the line condition is now included to help you with Chicago's program to pay for reconstruction of clay pipes beyond the sidewalk to the street.

Kelly1910 came out tonight during the Stanley Cup finals - end of first quarter - and was our angel. He was able to unclog our shower nightmare in no time. It was third quarter with only 13 minutes left on the clock when he left and shortly after Blackhawks made the comeback of a lifetime. Coincidence, I think not. Second time in 6 months I've used Roto Rooter. Used them many times before that. Always quick and courteous service. Never had a problem after they have done a job. I have recommended them to many and will continue to do so.

Worst service I ever received in my life. A complete waste of time and money. After the plumber screwed up my sinks (leaking water, wrong hot/cold settings), he came back the next day to make amends and left with things in worse condition. Completely overpriced. I paid for a service I did not receive. I feel gipped, lied to, taken advantage of. Not to mention the time and money I cannot get back!

Had to wait a little longer for the plumber to get to the house, other jobs before mine took longer than expected, but once here everything went great. The plumber knew what he was doing and explained everything to me in detail. What the issue was, what was causing it and what he recommended to fix the leak. Shower base leak has been fixed and looks great. Glad I made the call.
