Had an urgent plumbing issue so we called Roto-Rooter as they are very well known. Our toilet had a leak and the source of the issue required us to have a new toilet installed. Neither my gf nor I are plumbers so we called them to do the install as the service would be covered under warranty as well. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the quality of their plumbing service as they never arrived.

We initially called around 1PM on Saturday and were quoted that a technician would show up between 4PM and 8PM that day. Waited around and they called around 7PM saying that they would have to push our appointment to the next day between 11AM and 2PM. We live in a 1 bed / 1 bath condo so not having a toilet is really not an option for us, but whatever. We ended up staying with her parents in the suburbs for a night.

In the morning, we scrambled back so we could be there for the 11-2 appointment. We called as we were coming back and they confirmed that we were still on their route for an appointment in that time frame. At 1:40PM, I called them again and again they said that we were still on the list and all the techs were busy. 2:30 PM rolls around and I found another plumbing company, Captain Rooters, and they were at my door in half an hour. Right after my call with Captain Rooters, Roto-Rooters called me back and said a tech would be on his way, but would take an hour to get there. At that point, I cancelled my appointment with them. After they hung up with me, they called my gf (who originally made the appointment) to confirm if we were really cancelling the appointment. Yes, I'm a grown man who doesn't know about free market competition or customer service, so OF COURSE I must be confused or incompetent if I want to cancel my appointment with them!

The ONLY good thing about Roto-Rooter is that their call center and dispatch were extremely courteous and willing to help. Not sure if they don't have enough techs or if it was just a crazy weekend for plumbing, but won't be calling here again for anything.

I would have liked to have written a review about Roto-Rooter's plumbing services, unfortunately I don't even have the opportunity to do that. I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday morning service from 8am-12pm. I now sit here at 5pm and am told ""the techs are still on the way."" Five hours after my scheduled time has elapsed the customer service rep tells me ""it's because they had people call in sick for the day."" I would have much appreciated notice early in the morning if the company anticipated that they might not be able to complete the appointment due to a lack of technicians. Instead I realize that this company has no respect for your time or situation.

Once again Roto-rooter came to the clean the blockage of my sewage line. it is so easy to schedule an appointment by a single phone call. Jemo (#5415), the technician, arrived on time. Since this is the 2nd time, he gave me some discounts, which is good to have. He started the work immediately and got us taken care of. Btw, It was such a cold day out there. I am very satisfied with his service.

When you can't shower until the problem is fixed, you never want to hear that a plumber can't be at your house for two days. Roto-Rooter comes to fix problems on the same day, even on a Sunday, and you don't get charged extra. It's not cheap, but you can usually find one coupon or another online. Yesterday was my second experience with Roto-Rooter, and it was great, just like last time. Giovanni (tech #2910) went the extra mile to unclog my bathroom tub (thank you!). I'll keep using Roto-Rooter, even though I wish I didn't have to.

My basement was leaking water in a rental property I own out-of-state. My tenant was upset and I needed urgent help. Giovann (Tech 2910) came to the rescue within just 2 hours of my call. He spent time checking numerous possible reasons for the problem and finally found that I had a cracked downspout which had been invaded by roots. The water finally and quickly drained out and we're now on track to clean and fix the damaged basement. Thank so much to Giovann and Rotorooter. Giovann was timely and accommodating to my tenant and handled her frustrating day w/ urgency and empathy. And as an out-of-town homeowner, I really appreciated the reliable work performed. Thanks.

I called and they were that very afternoon to unclog my toilets. The person who came to my door was very professional in his manners and appearance. He went to work quickly to unclog our toilets. I would definitely have them to come out again

I am torn between two and three stars. I'd give them high marks for customer service, prompt response time, and the technician was very nice and polite. He didn't charge me to check my water heater, which wasn't producing any hot water. Looking back, I'm kind of amazed by that given how much everything else would've cost! He basically flipped the power vent switch a few times and then told me I needed a new water heater. That's when things got two-star quality. First, he said that replacing the gas valve apparatus would cost $1,000. Then he said replacing the entire water heater could be done that day for $3,000. He sort of quietly pressured me to make a decision right away, which I wouldn't do. Don't play chicken with me, sir, you will not win! Those prices are outrageous and seemingly pulled from thin air. A new gas valve costs $163 online - no way labor for that little knicknack is worth is $800+. Also, no way an $800 water heater should cost $2,000+ to install. I called Home Depot and they could install the same water heater, same day, for like $500. Luckily, resetting the pilot light multiple times seems to have restored my hot water so I haven't bought anything, but when I do it will be through Home Depot.

The technicians we're professional, courteous, clean & prompt. The 1st tech rodded the clogged drain line that was infested with roots. I give 3 stars because in 24 hrs I had back up again in the tub!Jonathan came the next day(free of charge) & rodded again. He flushed the line a couple times & demonstrated how to hear the water flow all the way to the city connection. Since then I've been free flowing.
