Rotor Rooter Robbed Me!!

i had no water and when the water was connected I still could not get water out of the faucet. David charged me $400 to change a valve. It took him less than 30 Minutes to do this. He came unprepared he could not turn on the water from the curve. For some reason, he kept showing his plumber's crack, which had me disgusted.

once we turned on the water, there was a leak in a pipe behind the wall In the kitchen. He claimed that he would have to install a new pipe from the elbow at the top all the way down. I demolished the wall to save money and this joker wanted me to move the kitchen sink. He charged me $684 for this job and claimed that this job would have been $1800 and he was trying to save me $$$. The funny thing is that he kind of pulled all of these numbers out of the crack of his ass.

Anything he quoted me was always extremely high! For example, I asked
him about installing a water heater and he said $2,200. Now, a water heater at Home Depot is $400 what is the other $1800 for?

in any case long story short, Rotor Rooter robbed me today but need not worry because David will not get a chance to rob me again!! I will never use Rotor Rooter again!! I hope this company learns from this and treat future customers better.

Suffice it to say 5 hours later and $1000 plus, i still had no running water because David was only interested in overcharging me and not providing me with solutions to my problems. What douche bag!! This is why I feel Rotor Rooter, Dayton, OH robbed me!!!

Wow! way way overcharged for the service. Call another company. They don't charge by the hour, they charge what ever they want for the service they provide. They give you an estimate and say, this is on over estimate but they will make it as close to that number as they possibly can. I just cant say enough how overpriced the service was to just replace a simple sump pump in less than an hour! over over over charged! I called to complain to the technician and he said his supervisor would be calling me.... still waiting!

Very fast response time! If you need a plumber ASAP, this is the business to call. I've had to call them multiple times due to leaks, clogs, and sump pump issues. They have been great in treating the leaks & clogs. However, they did not seem to be super knowledgeable about our sump pump - they said we would need a replacement, however, my husband was able to fix our unit after they left. My husband said it was a quick fix after he did some research on the unit. I would recommend this company for anything other than sump pump repairs.

March 18 2021. Aww, mannn. Still leaking though. I called in because I had a leak coming from around the 2nd floor shower drain onto the ceiling below. No other leaks from any other spot. Tomorrow another tech is coming back out to fix the leak, seal around drain rather. Right now, I feel sick. RotorRooter is too expensive to not get a quality repair done right the first time. Hopefully tomorrow I will have a better review for a job well done.

After waiting 8 hours for service because someone put an active ticket on hold I had to call in 3 times to get no service. Every time I have used this company I have spent thousands of dollars and paid their premium I have not been happy or had to have call backs. This was my last straw. The Dayton branch is ran poorly and their dispatch is unreliable and unhelpful. You say you are going to call a customer back then you should actually do it and not leave them waiting for hours longer. Done with this company and recommend others stay away. DAYTON OHIO ROTO ROOTER. Was quoted 1200-3000 on a well pump replacement. 3k if they had to replace the pressure tank, switch, etc and the cost of labor for doing all of that extra labor. Husband told them no it was all brand new to just replace the pump and he was told it would be at the lower end of that quote then closer to the 1200. We were in Florida when it went out. 3 witnesses here as to the amount of hours he was here including a Credit card statement of when they were paid AFTER he completed the job and they inflated the hours by almost an entire hour. Then in order to inflate it further he called out another plumber to help him WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. Our final cost for labor was 1930.68 for around 5 hours of work. 919.32 for parts with no details at all of what was put in. When I called the office the secretary was immediately rude which was my first indication they were used to this. She then had the owner, Alan Sheplak, call me who was a smug arrogant rude person who had the nerve to get upset with us for asking exactly what was put in and why we were charged so much for labor. He then tried to further manipulate the hours to make it fit. When I asked if we could get a breakdown of the labor charges he told me ""You already got it"" meaning what he just told me. When I asked him how many hours was the second plumber there that we did NOT authorize he said ""he didn't know"". I then requested a complete break down of charges to include parts and labor per plumber per hour IN WRITING and was told ""We'll get it to you when we can."" I told him that we would be filing legal action so it would make it easier on everyone if he would just give me the information and he replied ""Just have your attorney call us."" Irritable and rude when they are the ones literally stealing your money. Just know if they quote you with an 1800K spread you are getting charged the full amount. our total was 2850.00 exactly the max amount they could charge with taking off the 150.00 for the cost of the pressure tank. CRIMINALS! So we were charged the labor as if they had put on all the extra's that we declined to have done. BUYER BEWARE. We are disputing the charge and filing legal action. FYI a class action is being started against them for anyone else interested in joining.

This company will try to scam you and bleed you for all your worth, even with insurance. We had a pipe clog and leak in our basement. Roto-Rooter reviewed my insurance and said it would be covered and filed the claim for me. From there, I worked with insurance and confirmed that the water mitigation they performed was indeed covered.

My insurance was in the process of reviewing their services and invoice before paying. Roto-Rooter began sending me invoices in the mail and began contacting me for payment. The bill was over $4,000. They also tried to tell my insurance I didn't pay my deductible and I had the receipt.

I was consistently in contact with my insurance and they assured me the claim was being handled. Roto-Rooter emailed me and the woman in charge was extremely threatening and rude. I called my insurance in tears and they again confirmed they were working on the claim THAT DAY and come to find out, Roto-Rooter's check was sent and they were being paid. The woman at Roto-Rooter threatened to put a lien on my property after 60 days and after 90, charged a 35% late fee and the claim would be sent to her legal department and collections.

Roto-Rooter was trying to collect money from ME, the consumer AND my insurance. Do not use them. Go local and use Korrect Plumbing or anyone else. They will price gouge you and then harass you during the insurance claim process to try to get double payment. My dad and friend have even experienced the same issues with them, in which Roto-Rooter comes out and tries to charge thousands for a simple fix a local plumber can remedy for hundreds. Keep yourself stress-free. Do not use them.

Four Visits, Three Plumbers, Two Day's and $887.50 later. I am left with a hole in my Bathroom and a hole in my Kitchen ceiling. Roto- Rooter wants me to sign a release if I accept a refund, before I know what it will cost ti fix the ceiling and bathroom floor in an 100 year old house. My advise pay more and get the job done right. I forgot to mention it was a broken Flang no need for either hole. D M Homan

Our kitchen sink was clogged and our regular plumber (Aaron Kramer) could not come out on Sunday to fix it. We called Roto-Rooter and scheduled them to come out. They did not arrive on time and we were told when we called them, it would be a bit longer. After explaining to the tech what we did, he proceeded to drill through the screen on the one side of the sink so that he could run the snake through it. He then filled both sinks with water. After repeatedly trying to snake through 5 curves in the under the sink plumbing AND forcibly doing it, he busted through the p trap. The water was all over the floor and went down to the basement. After the tech said he would write up a quote to fix what he broke, (tech said they aren't responsible when they break a pipe) my husband told him to leave. Aaron Kramer came out today and had it fixed and back together in about 45 minutes. They only charged $159 where Roto-Rooter wanted $400 plus charge to fix what they broke. Now I'm not a plumber, but common sense says you don't force a snake through plastic pipes with lots of curves!

Our basement flooded 2 nights ago due to a clogged outdoor drain that was installed by roto-rooter in the past. We called on Thursday night and they said they would arrive Friday morning between 11-3 with no problems. After calling 3 times on Friday after no one showed up we were finally told that no one was able to come out to our house on Friday and we would have to move our appt to Saturday. This AM we called to verify our appt and were told that they can't help us and they are too busy to come assess our situation and they could get to us sometime next week when in fact this is an issue that they can assist with and they explained that it would be no problem. We understand this is a tough and busy time for them but we were pushed to cancel our appt. We stated that we would seek out another company and they just hung up on us. Very rude and unprofessional.
