DO NOT USE! I wish I had seen all these horrible reviews before we used Roto-Rooter. They are con artists. I'd avoid them at all costs, especially for water mitigation services/cleanup. If you have money you want to waste/throw away use Roto-Rooter; if you don't, please stay far away from them.

They were at my house within 30 minutes of my call for a clogged kitchen sink. Josh was very pleasant. He fixed the clog with the powered snake, no problem. The problem was the outrageous cost!. $453! I about fell over. Half of that would have been expensive. I think that's the business plan.....get in the house ready to fix the sink and the homeowner will pay anything. That's why they will never give you a price over the phone.

DO NOT USE. Only use roto rooter if you're in an emergency situation. Their costs are 3 times the regular cost and they also try to sell you on their other, in house services, such as water restoration.

I had a drainage issue. Roto rooters cost was $541. My local plumber was $160.

Also, the roto rooter plumber had an attitude and gave me overall bad energy. It didn't seem like he cared about getting the job done right. Just wanted to get it done by any means necessary.

If you require assistance in the middle of the night, then yes go with roto because they're 24/7. If not, you might as well flush that money down the toilet because you're over paying.

Before COVID we used roto-rooter for our rentals/home and referred them to friends. The past couple of years have been terrible. If you have an emergency they don't come out for days but keep telling you someone will arrive within the next X hours. Today I had them come out for a quote. Now my ""quote"" with no work being done is $170. $170 for you to tell me it will cost $1200 to upgrade a shower?!?

OMG, I should of come here first before I decided to have the work done. Anyway, I had a backup in my toilet and bathtub when ever I flushed or took a shower. I had used Roto-Rooter in the past when I lived in Texas and liked them, I'm know in Ohio, so they were the first I called to get the backup unplugged thinking all they would have to do was run a snake and that would be that. Shaun was there early, and was very congenial, enthusiastic, and informative of what he was going to do. Unfortunately he could not get through the clean-out outside because something was blocking the sewer. He made a call to his supervisor to come out and run a camera to see what the issue was.

Steven(Joe) the Supervisor came out, very friendly, and able to talk to. He ran the camera down the clean out and it would only go about 4 1/2 feet, making the comment that the drainage pipe had collapsed at the connection from the clean-out to the sewer line. Getting an estimate from Steven, which unfortunately blew my mind, it was going to be roughly $8000 to repair. One of the reasons it was so high was as he stated, if you go below 3 feet you have to shore up the hole sides it could cause a collapse, and that's why it gets expensive. I asked about a Veteran's discount. He said he used to be able to give discounts which was 5% which would of been in the ball park of $350, but now he had to call administration to get approval. They would not give approval, but Steven had a coupon he could administer for $300. I said every little bit would help, but thinking is this what I'm worth as Roto-Rooter customer, a coupon?

When the 2 guys came out to do the repair, they brought a back hoe to dig the hole. I had noticed they had plywood on the trailer, and thought they would at least use it as cover from putting down tracks in my yard or minimize it. I had other work to do inside the house, so when I came out, no plywood, and track marks into my yard. The next thing I noticed was they had dug the trench at least 4 feet down, and noticed nothing was used to shore up the sides of the dirt walls, I was pretty uneasy about this, since what Steven had told me. Once the repair was done they tested the line and judge that the clog was actually still under the house and not at that joint, which actually had nothing to do with the repaired sewer pipe. Come to find out that the sewer line had not collapsed but the clean out had a plastic sleeve obstruction in the way of the sewer line, in which Roto-Rooter and actually broken into when Shaun tried to get into in the beginning.

In order to flush the clog out they had to run a high pressure water hose back up through the sewer line to basically blow it out, which succeeded. But the unit they used apparently had no or not enough water in its tank so to add insult to injury they used my water to fill up the probably 500 gallon tank without even asking me if they could us it. I should have a nice big water bill to contend with now. Since I was numb from the cost of the this issue, and after they left was when it all built up in me to write a review. First off, make sure your read reviews in this before you pay,(if you can wait for other estamates). Second if you understand somewhat of what there doing watch them to get your own feeling on the work.

The Roto Rooter Plumbers have always been professional and arrived on time. However, about a year ago we had them install two water valves in our upstairs bathroom sink, right after they were installed I started hearing drips of water in our upstairs bedroom, so I called them back a month later. They said there was no leak because they didn't see water. Also, they broke the plastic handle to the main water shut off in the house. I realize things happen. I just worry about the structural integrity to my upstairs bedrooms and bathroom as well as being unable to shut off the water at the water main inside my house. Joe G at Featherston in Miamisburg. Thanks in advance for reading.

Beware of big name company like this. We will never use Roto-Router again after such poor service. Hired them for a toilet drain that required fixing and they had to go thru concrete. The excavation took 2x longer than expected (twice the original quote) and the worker did snotty cement work (uses two different mixes, uneven and unfinished). Due to their poor work, (for the first time) the water flowed under my basement wall and carpet was ruined. Two of the employees commented that Andre, my worker no longer works for them because his performance was awful. The managers say it's not due to the work and offered no solutions. They did the water damage restoration to dry the walls and originally quoted me 5k. Then the workers took 2x as long so my quote ended up being 11k because of extra days. At no point until the work was completed did they notify me of increased cost or extra work. So the poor quality work made my basement flooding larger and the project cost me double. Their response after destroying my basement was, ""We aren't a cement company."" I asked about their warranty and no one offered to help. Even after I escalated to Pat Swanson, their boss. No one cared. Insurance check paid $10k of the $11k for drying the walls. They called and told me I have 10 days to pay $1,000 or they'd put a lien on my house. No customer service, no compassion, no warranty for their work, just threats to add a lien and add 25% fee on top. I fully intend to tell everyone how awful this company is. I asked Alan if this level of cement work would be appropriate in his home and he couldn't say a word to give me an answer because the answer is obviously no. Shame on you all!

We had an immediate need for a hot water tank. Our Technician Rodney B. Was amazing! He was attentive, responsive and provided prompt professional attention. If the level of customer service is always as kind and thorough as this gentleman, this organization will be around forever. Thanks Roto Rooter and Rodney B!

Had a clog in the pipe. Sent someone new out who couldn't clear it and took 5 hours. 303 dollars for nothing. 5 hours and nothing. Next day called a plumber somewhere else who cleared it in 45 minutes. DO NOT CALL These people. If they couldn't fix it they shouldn't have charged us. This was ridiculous!

I had Roto Rooter out to service a soft clog under my home and they got it cleared. However we needed water mitigation and mold removal done as well. It was all going well until it was all said and done. Went down to my basement that was finally not sealed off to find out that the service tech had stood on my brand new washer and dryer. They dented the tops in and now it will not heat nor spin properly. I called that same night only to be told to send over photos. Send photos immediately and got a call the next day to send the photos to a supervisor. It took the supervisor 3 days to text me back and I was told I needed to have them repaired and they would pay the bill.....who in their right mind would tell someone that as it is going to cost just as much to repair them as it is to replace them. I am livid. I will NEVER use them or recommend them.....EVER!
