Sump Pump stop working causing my basement floor to flood on Saturday Afternoon. I called Roto Rooter out to for Sunday morning between 8am - 12noon, but no one showed up until 2pm with no call, text, nor email as promised. To top it off, it wasn't even the plumper - it was the guy who cleans up the water. He tried to sell me on the notion that it would be upwards of $8k to clean everything up. I told him I would think about it AFTER I talk to the actual Plumber.
When the actual plumber showed up (after 4pm) he wasn't familiar with half of the plumbing in my basement, told me the sump pump had some worn screws on it causing oil to spill into the water & I would be nearly $900 dollars to replace the sump pump. I told him that the pump was barely 1 year old - fixing it makes more sense. He replied, ""we don't fix pumps. we replace them."" WOW! That's like me taking my car in, the mechanic telling me that it's the starter & the solution is to buy a whole new car. I thanked him for his time & asked him to leave.

A total waste of time with their false advertising of being out within 2 hours. I placed a service request 6 hours ago. I called the dispatch number. They said they will call back within an hour to see when a tech could arrive. No thanks.

Here's a newsflash Roto-Loser, there are many plumbers who will show up at the promised time. You are not one of them. Time to call a reputable company to unclog a drain. It certainly isn't Roto Rooter.

You know the situation: single mom of four, alarm goes off by water lines in basement, weekend night--and the rains are coming.

I was absolutely terrified, as like anybody in my position, I don't have lots of extra money lying around for a new pump. Everybody told me it would be a $1,200 fix. Roto-rooter is pretty much the only plumbing business open at this time, so I gave them a call. Jason came out--didn't get his last name. He was so thorough, with such excellent expertise. He was extremely honest, made a 10-second adjustment in my plumbing configuration, and no new parts (or $1,200 fix) was needed. I am still thrilled to know there are still good, honest businesspeople out there.

No, I have no affiliation with Roto-rooter; nor had I met Jason before. But you can be confident that, if you call these guys, you'll be doing the best you can, given the situation.

Would give 0 stars if would let me.Do not use this scam company EVER. They told me a price to do job after job it was 200 higher. Was told parts were more than they thought. If that was case should have informed me before started job. I was told a sump pump and 4 ft piece of pipe was 520 dollars. SCAM SCAM do not use. Their customer service is even worse and rude.

Terrible service. I made an appointment a week in advance for someone to come out to my home. When the day came they called me three times to keep me informed that they didn't have a technician available within our timeframe of 8-12 and that it could be sometime later in the day when someone showed up. After 6.5 hours I received a call that it would be another three days before someone could make it my house. THREE DAYS! Unacceptable. Taking my business elsewhere.

My technician Mark (#2840) was amazing! Wow, such a great service and personable technician. My sink was clogged and Mark stopped at nothing to discover the issue. My sink is 3xs better than before and I've met a new friend in the process. I'd definitely recommend Roto Rooters to family and friends.

This place is a rip off! They guaranteed someone would be by in two hours and five hours later they were still holding me hostage. They will not tell you what a particular job will cost even if you know exactly what you want them to do because they charge much more than an actual plumber would charge you. They will come to your house for free after holding you hostageand then quote you an out rages price when they were already in your house and you are desperate. Do not use this sorry excuse for a business

Borce (Tech #1474) was very helpful and professional and fixed our problem right away! We were stressed out about a plumbing issue on a Sunday and were surprised that Roto-Rooter was open and how quickly they attended to our problem. Borce knew exactly how to fix it in a matter of minutes. I would definitely call again and I would especially request Borce if he was available to help us.

Called at 0900 and was told that someone would arrive in two hours. At the two hour mark they called and stated that the technician was in route. Every hour they called and stated that they were in route. It was 4 hours later that we decided to cancel service with them and use a local harder working person who does not waste time or your money. I will NEVER use your serve and I will ensure that my extended family or friends NEVER use your service either. Horrible professionalism and very misleading with service time.

Terrible service, told me they could have a technician out in an hour to fix a clogged drain that's shutting the whole house water down in one way or another, called back 30 min later saying they sold a water heater job after we talked so they had to go do that first. They wouldn't finish till 9 or 10 pm and they might not make It to me tonight now... called at 5pm...
