I was scheduled to have an appointment from noon to 2 pm today. No one showed up at 2:30. I called, they told me they are backed up. I asked them for an approximate time they will be here, no answer. I called them every hour for an update. Finally, at 6 o'clock when I called them, they told me they won't be coming today. I told them I am waiting for them due to a plumbing emergency while skipping to visit my mom at ICU tonite. What a horrible and non reliable service.

Our kitchen flooded on Saturday and a call to Roto-Rooter yielded a response that ""we don't offer plumbing services in your ZIP code, only drain repair"", despite living in the middle of their service area. Seems strange that you'd call yourself a plumbing service and not offer plumbing, but I'm not in the industry, so maybe this is a common mode of operation. Either way, we ended up calling a competing, local plumber and got the service we were hoping to receive from Roto-Rooter.

The ladies scheduling are unfriendly and the plumber never showed for the scheduled appointment. After an hour has passed I replied to the appointment reminder email reminding them that their site personify customer service yet twice now we have not seen any such service.

I am highly disappointed with the way business was handled with this company. They sent a guy out who quoted me for toilet auger and lifting the toilet if needed for $300. He only snaked the toilet after 15 minutes of work and left. Two days later it was was clogging again so we called them back asking to fulfill the full initial order and lift the toilet, second guy still only snaked the toilet. Called back after a couple days (toilet is clogged worse now) only to have the woman tell me services did not include the lifting of the toilet and that would be a different price of $750 with a 10% discount. I'm upset due to the technician that came out telling me something different than what they told me on the phone. Different prices for the same job. We gave them over $200 to snake our toilet and it's still clogged. I told the lady that hair was pulled out of the toilet the second time and she told me they can't warranty me for what goes in the toilet. Well of course not! I didn't appreciate the sarcasm because I wasn't complaining of poor work being done, I complained of different quotes and not enough work being done. This was a rip off and a waste of our money!!

Called with an emergency at 3:45pm was given a 2 hour window. Dispatch calls to confirm appointment I don't hear the call, I call back immediately, was transferred to dispatch who then hung up on me, I call right back again and I'm told dispatch is busy they will call me right back. 2 hour window is passed by an hour, I call back again to check on this and was transferred to dispatch again who told me sorry we sent the tech home because you didn't answer??!! So now I need to wait until tomorrow with an emergency, kids can't use the toilets, shower, wash their hands etc. 3 hours are gone on a Sunday evening when I could have been trying to get someone else here.

I had Roto Rooter come out for backed up basement drain. The service guy was fine. He needed to have his supervisor to come out and put a camera down to see if there was a problem with the pipe and he said there was an issue in the street. This cost me $550. He had me take a picture of the video. They told me to contact the city, which I promptly did. The city said they should have given me a video of the pipe and marked an ""X"" where the problem was. I contacted RR ""customer service"" and the lady (very defensive) said ""this is a business and we charge extra for that. That'll be an additional $750"". I ended up calling a local plumber (lesson learned) and they are charging $250 for the camera and video. It felt like Roto Rooter was unfairly charging me. Wouldn't use them again.

Had a backed up toilet, my son called rotorooter as he thought it an emergency. they were very quick to came out and clear drain. But then they told us we needed a new main line and they would do it for $6000, man was rude about it too and quote only good for one day. they claimed ot have a video of the problem, but for me to see it would cost $500. thought this was a scam so called in the City, they had a second service, come out and for $180 he fixed what rotor rooter had not done and charged us $580 for. I woudl not use them again.

I'll update this review if/when I receive better service.

Initial called made on Friday night regarding sewage problems in the basement. Was told that they could have a plumber out that night. Received a call from their dispatcher saying nobody was in the Kenosha area and they would have somebody out between 6-8pm the next day for me.

The following morning my toilet backs up and is now part of the problem.

730pm the next day I call just to make sure they are going to be on their way. They state their plumber is on another call and may be a few minutes late and they would call when on their way.

830pm called to follow up and dispatcher states that the plumber is still on the other call and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I really wanted to keep the appointment bc my main lines are getting worst. She said she will keep me updated.

945pm I called and disptcher says the same thing. They are now over four hours late on my appointment on a Saturday and I still do not have anybody out here to address my problem as they said they would. This is absolutely ridiculous and needs to be addressed. If I wasn't in such a bind to get this fixed I definitely would look elsewhere.

11pm I get a call that the plumber is still at the other location and can't come. Seriously? I waited 6-8 bc that was my appt and they finally tell me they can't come at 11pm?! And they rescheduled and said I am the first appointment 9-10am on Sunday

Sunday 10:15AM I get a call stating that the plumber is at another appointment and they are trying to get him out. Why do you guys make appointments but cannot keep them? How did you say I was going to be the first appointment Sunday yet your plumber is at another appointment?

Don't bother making appointments here or waiting for a plumber. They don't show up and don't keep you updated. This is no way to run a business.

I am sure they are a wonderful and knowledgeable company if they decide they want your money to actually come out. My wife and I had some seepage issues with hydro static pressure in our basement when we had a ton of rain. We were lucky enough to meet the daughter of the original owners who originally had the home built in the late 1960's. Turned out we had internal drain tile that fed into our basement floor drain. She mentioned it sometimes it becomes clogged and required rooting. I booked an appointment with Roto Rooter explained the issues and took a day off of work to await someone to come out an root and send a camera down the drain to make sure everything was okay. At 11am I received a call from their technician, from Roselle Illinois. He didn't understand the issue and didn't know anything about a floor drain like that in any home. He then very rudely asked how old the house was because he had been a plumber for 30 years and what I was saying is insane. I explained to him the previous owners had the line rooted before via the floor drain, he then interrupts me and tells me he can't even root it or send a camera because it was obviously a small 4 inch drain. I then told him actually I am standing right over it and its much bigger than 4 inches and even measured it with him on the phone. He then tells me I just need a sump pump put in and that'll solve all of my issues. He then offers a couple other solutions....running a hose with water running down the line? Seriously? Everything in his power to not have to come out and actually help our situation. It's all right though if Roto-Rooter doesn't want my money that is fine. I'm more upset I wasted an entire morning of my PTO day off of work waiting for them only for them to turn around and decide they don't want to come out. Why also are they sending someone from Roselle Illinois to Kenosha Wisconsin?
