Soon T.Worst experience I ever had with this kind of repair situation . The person arrived on time, that was nice. However he was very rude and refused to work on water heater unless I agree to pay him $350/hr for the repair not even including parts even though when we talked to the office, they would charge $69 for diagnosis first.
Then he was on and on about we need to just replace the water heater. Eventually I decided not to use him for repair nor replacing water heater. I felt like This guy like to extort money out of you with your emergency situation.
Beware of this deceiving company. They are professional scammers that take advantage of homeowners. I called for a plumber for a broken kitchen pipe. They sent their water restoration team out. I had no idea they were coming out because it was never communicated to me. I thought the guy was the plumber. They told me I had all these water damage which was confusing because the floor was dry and only a small amount of water that came out when the pipe broke. Immediately I panic because he said my kitchen cabinets, drywall and flooring had to be torn out. He advised it would be around 3,000-5,000 and I needed to get my insurance involved l. To make a long story short that wasn't the case! they team came out with some blowers and now I'm stuck with a $1600 because I was trickEd into signing a contract because I thought I had all this damage! I never asked for their water restoration team to come out and never knew they were coming until they showed up! I called for a plumber. I paid the plumber $400 so basically I'm out of 2,000 just for calling this company! I would never use them again Stay clear of this company! I tried to get this resolved in some type of way with the manager, STEVE in the restoration department and he was very RUDE!!!! STAY CLEAR OF THESE PROFESSIONAL SCAMMERS!
The only thing that roto rooter is good for is unclogging drains !!! When I called them I told them 2 times that we lived in a mobile home and when they seen our situation the guy just through up his hands and said.we.don't do mobile homes so why didn't they tell me that in the first place when I called them? I will not be calling them ever again especially how they treated my mother and sister over the phone!!!
Jill V.My garbage disposal died. Not an emergency. Called Friday, they sent someone Monday afternoon. THE PLUMBER WAS EXCELLENT (Kevin) He was polite, followed COVID guidelines and did a great job from what I can tell. The problem was the cost. Not even a vague quote as to what the cost would be, I had to agree to a $69 service charge if I didn't accept the in person quote, which I was fine with, I mean how much could it be to replace a disposal? My guess was an hours worth of labor? Ok. Kevin called me at 12:38pm to tell me he was here and I went down (I live in a high rise) to let him in. He was in my home by 12:45 and I was quoted $199.46 for the new disposal, that's fine, high, but they deserve to make a profit. No big deal. The problem? $435 in labor. What??? Kevin, how long will it take? He said about an hour. Being the lazy moron that I am? I said just do it. Paying the $70 for nothing, plus the hassle of finding someone else, the fact that I had the day off work, put me in a cruddy spot. He went back downstairs to get his supplies. By 1:28pm I had paid. The actual job took 30 minutes. How dare you put this poor man in the position of ripping off customers for you? I guarantee he isn't seeing anywhere NEAR the $435 per hour you are charging in labor in a NONEMERGENCY situation. Absolutely criminal. Will never use RotoRooter again. Although Kevin, if you ever branch out on your own and open a plumbing business? I'd happily pay you and tell all my friends! Good guy.
Would not give an estimate for snaking drain over the phone. When the tech arrived he quoted a price of $375.00 to do the service. Flipping ripoff!!! I went and bought a machine to do the job for a little bit more than they were going to charge me. Please save your money and look elsewhere. FWI - You can't leave a review on their website.
Yanling W.Please avoid them. Rip you off bad on price. Roughly 8 times more expensive than a regular plumber
Martin H.I used their environmental clean up services. They showed up 3 days late with no calls or excuse. now the appointment to remove the equipment appears to be another failed missed appointment, no show. When you call, no one knows anything and they will get back to you. But they never do. Horrible.
Be prepared to spend $350 if you call for any residential issue. They will not give you an estimate over the phone but will say that they will send a technician out and the technician will give you the price before doing any work. I called for an issue where sewer water was backing up into a kitchen sink. Technician said he would need to use a 40 ft snake. The quote was $350. It took the technician less than 30 minutes to unclog the sewer pipe. I later found out that any issue you call for if it's residential is a flat $350 but they will not tell you that when you call. Normally for this issue, others charge around $100 or less. Definitely feel I got ripped-off!
I'm only giving it this many stars, because when it comes to actual cleaning, they did an amazing job. We had some water in our basement and the cleaning crew did a great job. When it comes to showing up for appointments though, they did not follow through. They also did not communicate that they'd be running late or wouldn't be able to make it at all. Initial call, they said someone would be here in an hour. 2 hours later, we had to call them back only to find out they couldn't get a hold of anyone. (Maybe don't promise a crew in an hour before you call a crew to confirm one is available in that time slot!) Roto Rooter also promised they'd haul off all our stuff that got ruined in the water. We had to make 5 separate appointments for them to come over, because they kept blowing us off and not calling. We'd make an appointment, they wouldn't show (or call). We'd call the next day and make another appointment. They wouldn't show up (or call). Again. Over and over. It was a little over 2 weeks of rescheduling appointments they wouldn't show up for and the job is FINALLY done. It's been ridiculous and unprofessional and frustrating.
They never showed up! I called at 2:15 to make an appointment to have a drain pipe clog removed in the St. Louis MO area. First of all I have 15 years of experience as an assistant starting off as a receptionist so know the rules of being a ""gate keeper"". I asked the scheduler if they had any specials and was told that she does not have access to that information. I let it slide knowing that all it takes is a google search at the most to find it and I am empathetic to anyone in the customer service field. I was given the time frame of 5:00-9:00 pm. We made sure that our entire evening was free to wait for a plumber to arrive. With a 8 month old baby on a schedule thats not always convenient but neither is a drain pipe clog and needing a plumber to fix it immediately. At 7:44 pm they called us to let us know that they have not forgotten about us and that they will give us a 30 min. courtesy call. No one had called and it was 9:24. So I gave Roto Rooter a call again. and was on hold for several minutes. The receptionist let me know that they would give me a call back. So at 9:37 they called and I asked how much wait time and they said that we were next in line and that we would get a courtesy call. Kind of annoyed but great to know that we were next in line. Then... At 10:21 they called to let me know that they did not have a plumber available and asked if I wanted to reschedule for tomorrow morning. I said that if we wanted to we would call back. ALL OF THAT TIME WASTED FOR NOTHING!!! So. They have lost business and pissed us off as future customers.
