I just learned that Roto Rooter not only offers plumbing services but also rescues animals stuck in storm drains as a free community service. I heard a kitty meowing in a storm drain and called them to see if they could help. They came shortly after we called. Garrett one of the technicians went above and beyond to help rescue kitty out of the drain! Much kudos to him and Roto Rooter for being a compassionate company that cares!

I felt like I was deceived. I asked by phone regarding the cost for replacing the parts in the toilet tank but they said they don't know till they see it. But when they showed up, the job cost is flat rate $505 plus the parts with the marked up price. And supposed to be free to get the quote, was $103. Noa, the guy came out was really nice but the their way to tell me was so wrong that it's free to just look it at. If you have a flat rate of the replacement of the parts and come out to get quotes as a company policy, they supposed to tell us the real price which they have when I asked. They lied.

Company was called due to poor drainage in a shower in our apartment complex. The plumber was able to clear the drainage alright, but had damaged the pipes below which caused a flood on the lower apartments. The company was called and they deny everything. Assuming they don't want to admit. They already have a disciplined action on their license from a few years ago. Will not recommend.

I called for service, because a bottle fell in our toilet and was stuck. The person they sent, ripped me off for 400 dollar and tried to rip me off for 750 dollar. We paid him 400 dollars and he didn't even fix it. I told Roto Roller, emailed them my receipt. They have done nothing.

The bad news: We had another evening, emergency plumbing issue. It's an old house. The good news: Yet another great experience with Roto-Rooter! Dispatch sent out David this time, and we couldn't have asked for a more thorough, honest, and personable technician. Once the problem was diagnosed, he clearly explained what needed to be done and gave us a reasonable estimate for service. He talked us through each step and was careful with our old plumbing. Also, it was great chatting with this really nice young man! In the end, no high pressure add-on charges, no surprise fees, and no shock when given the final balance for services like the what we've experienced with another highly visible emergency plumbing service. From now on, we're calling Roto-Rooter for all of our plumbing needs.

A few years back we had our plumbing main break under the back half of the house slab, they had to bust the concrete and replace the old cast iron pipe that was rotted (BIG job). When they were doneand cleaning up to leave I asked why there was still SO much soil left over, they said ""No worry - the dirtpile will settle down in the rain. A few months later, we noticed some doors in the proximity would not close easily ( they rubbed on the door frame) later my wife noticed that the concrete slab in the small bedroom ( they trenched right through the middle of the room) had a ""DIP"" in the floor area where they trenched and SUPPOSEDLY back filled. I have no solid proof, but I was wondering WHY so much leftover dirt? As a retired Electrician who backfilled, tampedand backfilled a bunch more, i think all the ""leftover soil was because they DID NOT do the hard work of tamping as they went. Many years ago I replaced our line through the front yard due to root intrusion. I did PROPER bedding of the pipe with gravel, sand, and dirt; tamping every 6-10 inches THAT 30 foot long trench that I backfilled NEVER settled even a BIT (and that was about 15 years ago!) I wouldn't give Roto - Rooter the CORRECT time of day, much less, my business.

I booked an appointment online the day before. My appointment was for 8am-10am arrival. They called to say plumber would be late. Talked to plumber at 1130am and he was still at lease 45 minutes away. I was late to work as a result. This is horrible service and totally unreliable! Total waist of my time.

I was having issues with my bathroom sink clogging and decided that I would call Roto Rooter to have them snake the drain. I liked that I was able to schedule a plumber come in and take a look at the problem through their website. My problem is the pricing of the job. I was charged $487 for a job that took only 15 minutes. If I decided not to go with them, it would have been $99 for just them to come out. I understand that travel time is taken into effect, but $487 to snake a drain is way, way too much. The plumber told me that they are independent contractors and that the pricing was the standard rate. I used A-1 Budget Plumbing a couple of months ago and was only charged $200 to snake my bathroom tub and that job took longer. I think I'm going to stick to A-1 Budget from now on. I'm not complaining about the service from Roto Rooter, I'm just complaining about the pricing. You decide on your own, but for me, no more. UPDATE: 12-22-23 - So to update. I received the message below and sent them my info, but all they did was forward the info to the general manager on the island. Don't waste your time. They don't do anything for you.

Please have management contact me tomorrow.$600 charge for one hour work after a 7 hour delay is unacceptable. It was a simple job.

I'm so confused I see so many different phone numbers listed for Roto Rooter. Today the day after Thanksgiving my upstairs bathroom toilet got clogged. Since I have family visiting I needed it done ASAP. I called them and someone could come out in a few hours. I explained I had a clogged toilet and my downstairs toilet was running never shut off. I understood that it was a $99 fee just to come out and an estimate would be given at that time. So as soon as they walked in they looked at my running toilet downstairs and said my water valve shut off was frozen. They would need to repair that to fix the problem. They then went upstairs to check clogged toilet and I checked the valve myself , it turned perfectly fine. Red flag as soon as they walked in. Up the charges because they think I'm just a woman who knows nothing. Checked clogged toilet said he had to go outside to get the estimate. Came back in with some booklet with charges on it for each problem. To fix the running toilet they wanted $759!!!!! and clogged toilet $379. I said are you kidding!!!!! It's a $15 part from Lowe's. Just fix the damn clogged toile. They were shady and dishonest. And why two guys only one with the company shirt?' I was desperate and needed clog fixed. But over $700 for the other toilet. Crazy!!!!!! Never will I use again. Beware. Johnny was the service person.
