Never, ever, use Roto Rooter for any type of repairs. They will rip you off regardless of the type of repair you need. I needed a 1', 3/4"""" pipe replaced. They quoted $750 for a 30min job that normally cost $200 to $275 to do.

The service was good. The plumber that came over was a very nice guy """"Chuck"""" and found the issue immediately. There was originally a mix up with the dispatch on first scheduled call but they got the second schedule correct. I would have like to have see a discount compensation for that.

These folks came to my house to address sewer back up that occurred in my basement the first weekend of Oct 2022. My 25 yr old son was home alone. I had told my son not to authorize any repair over $1000 without calling me first. Guess I did not coach him sufficiently bc my naive son, God bless him, told the plumber he only had $1000 to spend when he let the plumber in Not surprisingly the charge became $969 to simply send a camera down into the sewer and clear a small blockage and to proclaim there was a breech in the sewer pipe that they could repair for another $12,000 minus the $969 already paid of course. This was presented as my """"discount"""". He told my son the charge was based on depth and that the sewer pipe was 9 ft down. Three other plumbers, and the Dept of Water and sewer, all came out and said the sewer was 5 ft down. Other plumbers I called quoted between $6k and $10 k to repair, not replace the pipe. I called the city and they gave me the names of three plumbers they use, though they were clear that they dnt endorse anyone. Imagine my surprise when all 3 quoted me bet $2300 and $2800, which is far less than $12k Roto Rooter wanted to just repair, not replace, the pipe. So beware of these shysters! They took advantage of a naive kid, they misrepresented the depth of the pipe, they were at my house for exactly 28 mins and did very little to earn almost a thousand bucks, and when you pull up the website they claim to have 5 stars so it's false advertising bc they have close to 300 complaints on the Better Business Bureau. They also sent a water remediation person to my house without telling me, and he tried to charge me another $5300 to replace carpet the size of a large couch! I told him I could Re carpet my entire 2000 sq ft basement for $5300! So avoid these folks like the plague! People who filed complaints with the Business Bureau are all saying the same stuff I say here and Roto Rooters response in every complaint I read was to say they did nothing wrong. Im having the repair done on Monday for $2800. If you need your sewer repaired, call the city to see if it's theirs to fix, and if it's not, get the names of the folks they use. I guarantee you the city will not pay $6k, $10k or $12k to repair a sewer pipe. These plumbers have no conscience and they prey upon people who are in tough spots. A couple of them were even willing to have me take out a loan with 29% interest for repairs that were $10 k and up. Just insane!

Paid $3500 for 6 hours of plumbing work. Not an emergency situation, was during normal hours on a weekday and there were no crawl spaces or difficult areas to access. I don't mind paying for quality work but paying $500+ an hour for labor and $650 for 20 feet of pipe and a pressure relief valve is excessive in the extreme. Rep disappeared when I reached out to get a labor cost breakdown to defray some of the costs with my insurance claim. Roto-Rooter should put a video their website to help explain to their customers' kids why their family can't go on vacation this year.

Roto Rooter employee konstadin Bogdvow came to our house to unplug our drainage. He did but charged $885 for the job which was expensive In addition ,on his own , without permission he checked the dranege pipe going to the street and charged $719.00 and wanted to line that drainage pipe $22,100 which according to another plumber was not needed or necessary. Based on his work here,, I would not trust him. Call somei one else to do your plumbing work. SAS

So I called them and bought a garbage disposal in case they needed to install one. They determined it was the garbage disposal. They would install the one I bought for......$400..discounted from the normal $469. No thanks. Went back to Home Depot. $99 for the install.

Exceptional professionalism and integrity, very quick response. Good emergency service.

Called because I felt we had a water leak under the ground or slab and needed leak detection or someone knowledgeable regarding this type of issue. Was told that technician would be out on Tuesday between 8-12. Nothing happened between 8 and 12 so I called and was told they were running late.Called again at 2 to see if I could get a better ETA as I had to make arrangements at work. Received a call back at 2:15 and ran back to home from work as I was told they were a half hour out. Called back at 3:30 and was told someone would call me back. The technician called me back and said he was in traffic in Lithonia which is way further than a half hour out anyway. He said he would call me at 7PM and would come out then or at least tell me something.......No call at all! I called back next day thinking I would be first on their list and they told me I was on their list and they would call me. Again-----no call at all. I have no idea if this company is any good but their Customer Service and ignorance of Your time ranks as low as possible, and I would highly Not recommend this company for anything! Bob

I wish I could give -5 stars. Roto Rooter Alpharetta does not care about customers or their reputation. This business is wiling to lose a customer by charging $150 on a $5 part that took 30 seconds and did not even require a wrench. Zero tools involved. (I bought the same part for $5 at Home Depot, I'm sure it cost Roto-Rooter $2 max.) I had several plumbing issues in my home and so they were being paid (fairly) for much bigger items and work, BUT they still charged me $150 for screwing in a new part I purchased the next day at Home Depot for $5. I did the same repair in a different bathroom, BY HAND and it took less than 90 seconds. Literally. When I called them to discuss it, they said, """"We mark up our parts and there is a labor charge for the install."""" That is all they would say. I was appalled and said I felt compelled to let others know and spread this far and wide, and their response is """"You won't be the first, go right ahead."""" UNBELIEVABLE. And, even though they cut through a wall on a larger issue, they could not locate that problem and so nothing was solved there. Now I have the huge hole AND the leak. Regardless, there is no way I would ever deal with these dishonest price gougers again. Their response to my complaint call was especially telling: basically, WE DON'T CARE. Do not ever ever ever call these people.

I made an appointment online on March 20th for April 5th. I received an email back verifying my appointment for between 8am and 10am. They did not show up, or call, or text, or email me on April 5th. I called them at 10am asking if they would still be able to come today and it was like nobody even knew I had an appointment with them. I am not mad they didn't show up between the time they said, I am mad they didn't contact me and communicate anything with me. They could have emailed me, called me, or texted me. Roto-Rooter needs better communication. This was my first and last time contacting Roto-Rooter. I don't know how their actual service and repair work is because I never got to that point. Nobody showed up and nobody contacted me.
