I called Roto Rooter on January 3rd for a broken sewer pipe under my main floor toilet. The pipe had broke and you could see the break just by looking down the pipe. Shannon Dean came out and charged $300 for the camera evaluation, what took less than 2 minutes. He waived that charge when I agreed to do the work with Roto Rooter. The charge to fix this foot of pipe using a small trench in my bathroom was $3,177. The work was a poor quality and Roto Rooter will not release the name of the """"tech"""" who did the work or his credentials. They are charging above average prices and it is likely the person doing the work isn't a licensed plumber. I later learned that the work they did should have been between $500-600 and that charges in the $3,000 range are generally for a main sewer line repair and a much more extensive excavation. I have since found many reviews out there for Roto Rooter about their dishonest and deceptive sales practices. I will never use them again and I will be spreading the word.

Overall I had a great experience with Roto-Rooter. Ray Diaz out of the Norcross office offered nothing but professional and courteous service. The scheduling was straight-forward, and accommodating to last-minute scheduling. If you are looking to have something fixed in a professional and convenient way, I would recommend them.

When my renters called at 6pm on Friday night, I needed someone right away. We called Roto Rooter and Ray Diaz was able to come out early the next day. We was very professional, explained what happened and how he fixed it and was able to fix the same day. When we had problems at our own house the very next day; we called him and had him come check out our issues and was able to fix within a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable price. I will be calling him again!

I had bad experience with Roto Rooter. I will never want to work with them again. I had to pay double price or more for work they did. I had call them for 3 month to give me itemized description for work they done, and never had received it. Even they promised to do that. My insurance company did not pay refund, because of missing information about done work.

RATE THEM ZERO. I called them at 4pm, they said 2 hour response time, no price was estimated. 6 1/2 hrs later a guy shows and says $375 to root my main line. He messes around for an hour and says his machine won't work, I need the Jet. He also said the Jet would only cost about $20 more. 1am the guy shows up with the Jet and says $750 to do main line. He might as well have had a gun to my head, felt like I was being robbed. If the main line to your house ever plugs DO NOT call these people for emergency work. They are CROOKS! For half the money you will pay them you can go get a motel room for a few days and make a non emergency appointment with a regular plumbing service to come the next day or day after.

I personally cannot stand when people waste my time; however, I am still a pretty tolerant person who understands the complexities of running a business. With that being said though I find myself completely frustrated after my last encounter with Roto-Rooter. I noticed a small leak in my ceiling so I scheduled an appointment with Roto-Rooter to come out in 2 days time on a Friday. I moved my schedule around so I could work from home that day only to find that no one showed up during the 3 hr block of time they gave me. I called Roto-Rooter to find out what happened and they could not find a record of my appointment. They apologized and said they would send someone out that evening. Sure enough they once again did not show during the 2 hr block they gave me but at least they called 30 meetings later to say they were running very behind (i.e. we won't make it to your house today). Shame on me for being understanding and attempting to schedule a 3rd visit. This time the plumber (Alex) showed up 2 hours late with no phone call. I wasn't able to rearrange my schedule so my wife (and my 3 kids including a newborn) had been waiting for a total of 5 hours for them to show up. Once they finally got to my house they proceeded to make a huge mess while cutting a bigger hole in my ceiling only to say they """"think"""" the issue is was either with the wax ring in my toilet or some other part. He quoted my wife $300 and my wife commented that it seemed a little expensive if it only turned out to be a new wax ring. He refused to actually look at the toilet to find out what was the real problem. Now some people lack social manners and Alex is definitely one of those people. He was very condescending and rude when speaking to my wife. When my wife told him we were not going to have him fix it (because of the price) he left without even cleaning the mess he made within the house. I called his manager, Joel, to file a complaint and ask for my $69 diagnostic fee back after my horrible experience and the fact that he didn't truly figure out what was the problem. Joel """"apologized"""" but quickly started defending everything that Alex had done and basically refusing to refund the $69. Like a said earlier, I usually a pretty tolerant person but enough is enough. This is the last time I will ever use Roto-Rooter.

The technician fixed the issue we had. We had to reschedule our appointment from the previous night to the following day due to the technician running late.
