I called to get an estimate to replace our garbage disposal. 3 other plumbers in the area were around $245-$260. Roto-Rooter said they would come out and give a free estimate, so I figured.. why not. Two trucks showed up and the guys came in, looked under the sink, and said it would be $650 to take out the old one and put in the new one. I told them no thank you, everyone else is much lower. I then called Roto-Rooter to let them know, just in case they didn't realize what their guys were quoting. The guy I talked to was a fast talker, and told me that the $650 was an error... but he could do it for $450. He was till talking, trying to sell me when I finally hung up. Being a retirement area I can't help but think these guys are taking advantage of us seniors.

Roto Rooter will never step foot in my house again! I would give zero stars if I could! We got new kitchen and bath counter tops installed and needed 3 faucets, 1 garbage disposal, ptraps, and air switch connected. We already had all the faucets and most parts other than the two kitchen sink's drains. We also had a few existing valves that were old and needed to be replaced but, none of them were leaking or anything except the kitchen valve. However, even the kitchen valve was just a small, slow drip. Due to the counter top demo and construction, we had already been without a sink for a week and a half when I started to call plumbers. Our first quote was Roto Rooter and you were able to come out the same day, 9/7/22. However, it was over $3,100.00! After I recovered from the shock, I told your techs that I needed to get more quotes. But, I was desperate to get at least one sink done and your tech was already here. (At first, the tech thought he was going to need help with the job so he called for a second tech to come out.) So, I said they could go ahead do the kitchen but, not the bathrooms. I also said, """"do not replace the old valve in the kitchen for now"""" because, just installing the one new kitchen faucet, sink drains, reinstalling our original disposal, resizing and reinstalling the original ptraps, and connecting an air switch was still going to be quite expensive. We were quoted $643 just for that. If they had replaced the old valve too, it would have brought the total to over $900. Your techs started to work on the kitchen plumbing but one of them clearly had an attitude because I wanted to get more quotes for the rest of the job. I did not get their names, but one was a white guy and one was black. It was the white guy that had an obvious attitude. The black gentleman was very kind. We just weren't expecting that kind of money for this job. So, I scheduled a second quote with another company called Mr. Rooter for the next day. Their quote was about $600 less so it was a good idea to get it. Unfortunately, we had to call Roto Rooter tech back out the same night because the kitchen faucet they installed quit working. Dispatch sent the same white guy back out. He claimed the problem is because of our old valves. We had not previously had any issue with the valves except for a little dripping but, we also have only lived here for two months now. The tech said once you start turning the valves off and on it can cause them to fail. He said there's probably a lot of gunk that has traveled into the new faucet and is causing a blockage. We are not plumbers so, we had to take his word for it. We paid him $643 and we still had no water or sink to use. We were already scheduled to have the old valve fixed with the other company that gave us a second quote but, I felt bad for having to call your tech back out again the same day. If our new faucet wasn't working because it really is an issue with our old valve, I really do feel bad calling him back out. So I said to him, """"if you want to make your second trip back out here worthwhile and make some more money, we will go ahead and let you fix it now. He said to me, """"I'm not fixing it, I'm done with this house. You have your new quote, Mr. Rooter now."""" I said, you can't blame us for getting another quote. That is just normal business. Still in shock from his incredibly rude comment, I said, so you can't or, you won't fix it? He said, """"I can't. There's no hardware store open now and I would be here until 11pm."""" He said , """"I am going home."""" We said ok then. We thanked him, he said good night and he left. We decided to get a third quote the next day. The plumbing company that we ended up hiring for the rest of the job (not Mr. Rooter) fixed the kitchen faucet in literally two seconds! All he did was unscrew the faucet spray head and bleed the line for a few seconds. That is all it took. TWO SECONDS!! The problem was not our old valves at all. The problem was your rude tech never flushed/cleared the lines after installing the new faucet. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Absolutely terrible. I would definitely not recommend. They came out to fix our toliet issue and then 2 weeks later when it had the same issue they said sorry, there's nothing we can do and hung up on us.

Minor leak in the house called rooter to come out. They told us that must be a foundation issue and that a large portion of the house was soaked underneath that we couldn't see. Told us that our insurance would only pay $3000 and that we would need closer to $13000 for our issue and that they had ways to get the insurance to pay more by accessing mold coverage- they said. I did not feel that was correct so I asked my husband to call the insurance company to see our options And was immediately told by the rooter-personnel that I didn't have to call in that moment because we could get a claim number later. This almost guaranteed my suspension that something was afoot. After calling my insurance company we decided to cancel our plans with rooter and call another company. They then became irritated and called our insurance company predators and that when they messed up the job to not call rooters because they wouldn't fix it. All in all It did land us a nice $1030 bill even with water removal and mold prevention and maintenance. But that was a far difference from $13000 and possible insurance fraud.

Horrible customer service. I asked for service snd was told someone would come between 1 and 5 pm. But at 4:10 pm, the technician is 1.5+ hours away in (((Orlando))). I live in Viera, that's an hour away from Orlando. They advertise advertise as a business local to (Cocoa). Cocoa is 10 mins from my house. Orlando is NOT local. THIS is false advertising. I'll never call them again. The Cust svc rep basically said (oh well that's just how it is). No it's not if you want your business to survive. Unbelievable.

The faucet on my tub in the master bedroom broke off and we were not able to turn off the running water and resorted to shutting off the main water to the house. We called root rooter because of course this issue happened after hours. The customer service rep was very nice and helpful, took down my information and a technician came out as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it was not something that could be fixed with the equipment he had. He apologized and said he was putting in a request for some one to come out in the morning. I call at 9am because the technician said to call if no one calls. The rep I spoke to was not very pleased and informed me about the 8 hour window due to hurricane Irma. 8 hours pass and no phone call. When we call we are informed that there is a delay and no one can come out to my home to fix the problem. When I ask why no one bothered to inform me during those 8 hours, no answer. So in short, don't bother with this company there are other plumbers in town.

I'm just in awe of the total lack of customer service and just basic respect for a customers time. I called them on a Friday morning regarding a water leak at my condo. I was told that they would get a plumber to the house by 4 and probably much sooner. I let them know that I would have to call in someone to cover my work but I could do it. Got a call at 415 that they were running behind but would be out by 6, I let them know I understood no problem. At 630 I called them and they told me a tech should be getting there. At 8 pm I called to tell them not to send anyone that night I had to work in the morning. They rescheduled for noon on Saturday, the tech did show at 1:30, but said they'd have to get a leak detection guy out. I said fine but when... 11am on Sunday, at 1:30 I got a call from a guy in ORLANDO telling me it would be $459 and that it could take 10 minutes or an hour to find the leak. SO... after 2 days of no show or late shows this guy was calling an hour and a half late still about an hour and a half away to tell me I could be charged $45 a MINUTE potentially. I'm just in awe. I wasn't going to wait another god knows how long so I cancelled the call. They did call back the next day to try to schedule again. Buy local I guess is the moral of the story.

Way too high for a senior citizen. Unless they are wealthy seniors But they said they take coupons. Which I didn't need because I didn't use them.

We had a burst pipe and our house got flooded. It happened on a Sunday afternoon and we didn't want to risk serious water damage so we called Roto Rooter. Luckily we were home and got most of the water out in time, except for the wet carpet and my husband even rented a machine from Walmart to help remove the water. So we decided to cancel RotoRooter but a project manager from 70 miles away (Orlando) showed up at our house anyway. She explained the process to us and the estimated cost. The estimated cost was $3000 and we just got a letter that they submitted to our homeowners insurance for more than $14,000!!! We felt scammed by these people to be honest. They earn some commission for each job they do, so they may turn a small job like our house into a bigger job just because they know we have insurance. Not to mention we had to sign a bunch of forms on her Ipad before she could start the process! I understand our stress level and anxiety will skyrocket when something like this happens to our house but please stay calm and research who you want to hire. Do not use RotoRooter. This is a beyond horrible company. Their claim department coordinator was rude and disrespectful. We didn't have time to do our research since the flood was unexpected. So we didn't know better. But there are plenty of local water mitigation company that open 24/7. Use them. Avoid this company at all cost!!!!!
