Had them out to replace 2 elements in a water heater. I would have done it myself, but the bolts we're screwed and fused so hard into the system that I couldn't do it. I figured these guys would have better tools to tackle the job. Even though I had all the parts to replace, and all I needed was basically unscrewing of two heat elements... they quoted me about $400 to repair. My jaw dropped. I kindly told the tech no thanks. It was obvious he saw an opportunity to price gouge a family with no hot water... thankfully I called someone else. Never again.

Plumbing problems are difficult. Roto-Rooter makes it as easy as possible to solve plumbing problems. I called Roto-Rooter this morning with a semi-emergency (having a second working toilet downstream of a sudden sewer line clog is what kept it from being a true emergency). Archie, the plumber assigned to my problem, showed within a couple of hours. While Archie was working to clear the line blockage, an operation which necessitated dismounting the toilet, two other Roto-Rooter reps stopped by. They performed a camera line inspection of my 40+ year old home's main drain line and wrote a proposal to restore it to """"like new"""" condition via a service called jetting. The accumulation of compacted muck in the line indicates that such a clean out is overdue. I expect to have this work done next month to forestall any further clogging problems. The work Roto-Rooter performed today was done quickly and professionally. Archie did a fine cleaning up after himself as well. And, the cost was relatively inexpensive. I have had three other large local plumbing companies do work at my home in the 17 years I've owned it. Of the four, Roto-Rooter was by far the least expensive even though the other jobs were less labor intensive. Could not be happier.

Alisa S was the best. She explained everything and took care of our problem. She was friendly , and was meticulous about keeping things clean and in order. Absolutely phenomenal and the best service we have had. Thank you. Alisa !

Had them come out last September to snake all the drains in my house. 13 months later having issues again. Tech came out said it would be 850 dollars to snake a 2500sq ft house with 3 bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room. I told him about the previous service and he said the system only shows the kitchen sink, so no warranty. OK I said how bout a credit for the 400 already spent. No. So I sent him away. Awful customer service. He said the office would call me to discuss. Still waiting. Called Mr. Rooter, they want $65 to come out and tell me how much they charge. Is it me or is this insanity!!!! For $80 an hour my professional plumber will do it. He said maybe two hours. What the *&%$ is wrong with these rooter companies.

I was so happy to be able to go online on a Friday night and to set up an appointment for Saturday morning. Our tech was on time, pleasant and efficient. He came in , reviewed our situation and answered all our questions. The work was completed in a timely manner with no muss and no fuss.

I've had a problem with my toilet for months and of course on a Saturday night at 11 pm it finally happened that I couldn't fix it and ended up with running water in the tank. No way could I deal with it all day Sunday so I bit the bullet and called for help. Everyone was polite and very helpful and DJ came out to fix it as fast and efficiently as he could and all things considered at a reasonable price too. I just had to add the the first review Turns out there was a slight adjustment needed to my repair and Omar came out on Sunday afternoon he was very efficient, considerate and professional. He had it taken care of in a matter of minutes too! Great job Omar, I really appreciate your professionalism and job skill!

Both sinks in my kitchen were backing up. I called the toll free number and spoke to a friendly rep, who was able to send a plumber right away. Plumber was very profesional and was able to fix the problem Immediately. Maria C Coral Springs, FL

Oh nooooo my bathtub is not draining! Oh Oh, welcome to homeownership Monica! Yup reality sinks in when you buy your first home and a month later you start having plumbing issues. Don't panic!!! I was hoping it was not going to be a big job because this happened Saturday morning and I had visitors coming in for the weekend that same afternoon! Not knowing any plumber in my area I decided to go with the well known company Roto-Rooter. I remember knowing about them because I watched an episode of Undercover Boss not too long ago. I remember Roto-Rooter being a family company that cares after watching the show.... and so I made the call. From the first call, I was treated professionally and courteous. They reassured me someone would be at my property that same day between the hours of 8am and noon. Geez what a gap but they reassured someone would be there. The only thing I did not like was that they weren't able to give me a quote over the phone, not even a range of the approximate cost. I think they should be able to tell you """"ok it's going to range from $100-$300"""" as an example. At least to have an idea. Anyways, Alisa (the plumber) showed up around 9ish. She was really nice, knowledgeable and professional about her job. She was in and out of my house in 30 minutes. She knew exactly what she was doing. She even gave me some tips on keeping my plumbing up to date. The problem ended up being a clogged drain... simple. Roto-Rooter is a little pricey (the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars). The simple clogged shower drain ended up costing $300. I guess you're paying for the known brand name and the speedy professional service. I could've got the service cheaper with a local plumber but the service with Roto was worth it.

First Visit: Recently, I enlisted Roto-Rooter's services to clear clogged pipes in my kitchen and laundry room, but the outcome was unsatisfactory. Adding to my disappointment, the plumber initially claimed they couldn't access the roof to clear the four pipes, despite another company doing so successfully six years ago. He even said that would have been faster and had a better result. However, the plumber later contradicted himself, mentioning they could access the roof with a harness, but a shortage within their company prevented its use. This raised concerns about safety protocols and organizational efficiency. I reached out to the manager, who confirmed their plumbers weren't permitted on roofs but admitted they could access commercial roofs. The next day after water started seeping through the floor after running the dishwasher. I called our appliance repair man and he showed us the water was not coming from the dishwasher or from under the sink. The dishwasher wasn't the cause, and as the issue emerged after Roto-Rooter's work, I contacted Roto Rooter and they sent a repairman who denied responsibility and claimed we had bad pipes, despite PVC replacements of all our pipes a few years ago. When I requested a camera inspection, he wanted to charge me. Later, the manager, Ross Musa, called and repeated the same, but in a rude and arrogant manner. The high price of $480 to snake a pipe where the avreage charge in Fort Lauderdale, Fl is $75-$125 for minimal work, along with conflicting information from the plumber and manager regarding roof accessibility and safety gear, left a negative impression. The damages they caused, including the pipe they broke with the snake and subsequent water leakage, only added to my frustration. As a business consultant for 52 years, I strongly advise thorough research and exploring alternative options before considering Roto-Rooter for plumbing needs. I would like them to fix the pipe they broke or prove i have bad pipes and refund my $480.000. Part 2 the reply from Roto Rooter: From the Consumer on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 20343412, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Visit #2 They the same tech to take a look at my problem. The technician who arrived at my house turned out to be the very same person who had caused the initial problem. It was a frustrating and unexpected coincidence. When he showed up, he casually asked if I had called Roto Rooter, to which I replied, questioning who had sent him. Seemingly uninterested, he began to head back to his truck. Once he finally came in to inspect the issue, he confidently stated that my kitchen floor was not leaking. However, he insisted that he turn the water on to properly assess the situation. He poured 15 gallons of water down the sink he said. Still, he maintained that there was no sign of a leak, assuring me the problem was resolved. And than the water coming up through the floor . I asked him if it was possible for a plumber's snake to crack a PVC pipe. He admitted that it was indeed possible. He insisted that the only way to determine the exact location of the leak was by running a camera through the pipe. I agreed, thinking it would finally put an end to the uncertainty surrounding the situation. However, much to my surprise, he then informed me that running the camera would come with an additional charge. I couldn't believe it - Sadly, this was not an isolated incident with Roto Rooter. Numerous complaints had been filed against them for breaking pipes with their plumber's snakes. Dealing with this situation had left me feeling disappointed and disillusioned with the service industry and Roto Rooter. We now have water leaking under the floor it will not dry up even after using a shop vac. I would like my money back $480.00

I placed a service call at 10:30 am and I hd a confirmed appointment between the hours of 11 and 3:30. Alisa was the technician that responded to my call pretty soon after. She was very friendly and professional and explained what they were doing step by step. Both her and her assistant were very clean and neat. If I ever have another plumbing issue, I will be sure to use them again.
