I Called Roto Rooter because my toilets and sinks etc. backed up, and they were able to get here faster than another plumber I called who was cheaper in an estimate. When they arrived, they gave me a $451 quote to snake out our pipe line. I said no, he asked how much the other guy was, I told him $198, so he said how about $250 and we will give a free camera check (which does cost a lot, so I went for it). Well, he couldn't get though on one side, so he went to the other side of the house and snaked out where the septic tank was. But when lifting the septic tank lid off, he dropped it in the septic tank, which cost $125 to replace. He then paid for that by reducing the price, but said that no warranty because of the reduction. The lines apparently were clean, everything drained. 2 days later, back to clog. I called them back, a new guy came out and told me $517 to take out toilet and snake again, as it was the only way now. I said no, called the other guys mentioned earlier, they came, went on the roof, snaked it through the vent as should have been done originally, cost me $185, all is fine. Roto Rooter cost me actually $250 for not doing it right, all they had to do was go on the roof and do it right. Do not call them for plumbing. It is a joke. Call a professional. I gave 1 star for the plumber and supervisor for being very nice.

This is a tough one. I would give them 5 stars for promptness and friendliness. Someone broke a water pip e outside our house and we found it spitting water. This company was responsive and they fixed the leak no problem. We found it a bit pricey but we were happy to get the leak fixed. A week later our irrigation system guy came by and told us that the pipe parts had been installed backwards and there was no longer any water flowing to our irrigation system. So he had to redo the fix to correct the flow. Based on this I would not recommend. UPDATE: Roto-Rooter read this review and contacted us. Full apology for the inconvenience and a refund. Ultimately they demonstrated an outstanding level of customer service and wanted to make sure we were happy with the results. I am updating the review to reflect this. I've seen reviews for other companies which were low because the company did not take ownership to solve a problem and did not work to make the customer happy. Kudos to Roto-Rooter for making things right all around!

I hate to give them 1 star! This is more of a """"ripoff report"""" than a rating. On a Saturday night they showed up an quoted me north of $850.00 to clear a pipe. Beware!

I called Roto rooter for a slow drain . We had already tried snaking it ourselves with the auger from HD. It was obvious the clog was further down than the 25 feet that we could get. They told me they'd call when they were 45 minutes away. No one called, he just showed up. He did not come to the door though, he sat outside in our driveway until we went outside. He told us it was $400 to clean the drain!!!! I told him it was insane. He said ok we can bargain.... really? It ended up being $200. This took him less than 15 minutes! He did say there was something blocking the drain at 28 feet. He left, it's still not properly fixed. The drain still has an odor which is why I first searched for a leak. Nothing was backing up in the house it was just a bad smell in the drain. $200 for 15 minutes! That's insane! I would not call them again. My receipt even says it was $400 and I received a $200 discount. It's like the bait & switch con. I said no and should have stuck with it. It's not even fixed properly. I feel like I was scammed. There are plenty of plumbers out there. I suggest calling them first.

Called for a clog toilet after trying to plunge with no success. Plumber turns on the sink????? proceeds to tell us the toilet is clogged in the pipe below the toilet, well DUH! He's asked, you can tell all that by turning on the sink? My whole 52 years of life I never heard of that, but okay LOL. He says that will be 253.00 and then he was asked how long will it take? He smirks and says 5 min. My advice is if your toilet is clogged go by a toilet snake for less than 50.00 before you call ROTO ROOTER. KR, BV, JN

This company is a rip-off. They tried to charge me over 1000 $ for something another company charged me only 237.30. I do not understand how someone could work for this company and feel morally and ethically appropriate. You pray on the innocent people such as elderly,disabled, and other people in general. I know you have to make money but you do not have to rip people off. Consumers beware of this company in general. I would not refer this company to anyone. Thanks, C.D.

I've never written a review, but this place cost my dad so much money, I refuse to stand by and watch them get away with ruining more people's homes. My dad had a problem with his shower leaking. He called these guys, so they looked at pipes and to replace his entire shower/tub ordeal. They screwed up his whole shower--which has been in pieces for a month or two. He has called Roto Rooter to fix the problem that was evident to the blind eye, and they said No it's fine. So my dad PAID to have two different places check it out, you know, to see if the tub was done correctly. Both other plumbing companies said that Roto Reuter is not a real plumbing company. They specialize in drains, and that this wasn't the first time their crummy work has put a family at a loss. After all of this, I don't think my dad should have to pay for ANY of the work they did. They've cost my dad more money, and they continue to deny there's a problem. It's un level, the stuff under the tub needed more attention, and it is a breeding ground for mold and other future problems. Why not get it done right the first time? You're not dealing with customers' issues like they have families or other things to pay for. They figured a quick fix would do it. My dad needed help, and he trusted you. Don't use Roto Rooter. Even the other companies who inspected their work says they aren't real plumbers. What a waste of time and hundreds of dollars.

The prices are outrageous and the service is slow. $305 to clean out a sink drain WOW There are many lower prices plumbers to choose
