Recommended Customer Reviews

This review was only for an estimate i received today on my water heater in the Lake Nona, FL area. I received an """"estimate"""" from Pedro at 3pm, Monday Dec. 6th, 2021. It was a terrible estimate. I had presented the issue, that I wanted a tank water heater replaced with a tankless, electric 27KW water heater. The Tank water heater was on it's last leg and needed to be replaced after 11 years of service. In a professional manner, Pedro insinuated that I was brainless human being that knew nothing about water heaters, and he happened to show up to save the day (this was his demeanor). He was an extremely condescending technician with a bad attitude. """"Who the heck put the idea in your head to get a tankless, electric water heater?"""" """"Do you realize that you are going to be paying about $4,500 just in installation alone to get the right equipment and plumbing in your walls to support a tankless electric water heater, and then you will not be satisfied anyway."""" (I knew both of these things were false, as i have relatives in Minnesota running a 27KW tankless electric water heater in a large home. Albeit, they get much less use out of it than i would in Florida). My uncle also owns an AC/Plumbing company, and he is the person that actually recommended the model of Tankless water heater. I proceeded to let him finish, as he recommended a very expensive model of a hybrid water heater. I was very much done, and just let him finish before i waived him off. There were other indecencies stated by Pedro, but I will not go there, this review is long enough. If these are the type of employees that are working at Roto-Rooter, i would not be going with this company. I did not have a service done, and i cannot comment on it. However with the knowledge that i knew, receiving an estimate as horrid as the one above, would you be getting your service performed through Roto-Rooter? Think twice on this one. Thanks,

Just used Roto Rooter in Lake Mary Florida. They snaked a drain and were there for 30 minutes. The bill was $355. NEVER using them again. Entirely over priced

They wanted $375 for a drain to be cleaned that I got cleaned for $69 Guy said he was too fat to go under house for clean out so it was gonna cost me? I asked him to leave & was glad to pay the $ to get rid of him. DO NOT HIRE.

On 5/9/18 my daughter had her drain clog in the upstairs shower and caused the liner to fail, sending water to the first floor bedroom. I rushed home to assist her and had her call a plumber to clear the drain. She called Roto-Rooter and asked for a plumber. Within an hour we had men at our door, but they were not the plumber, as I would come to find out when the real plumber showed up. First James McDowell ask for my insurance information and said this would be covered. He called the insurance and filed the claim. He had me sign a paper about the removal of the damaged area so they could dry up the area. I asked for a quote and he said the insurance would cover it. I ask can you give me something? I said $500.00 or $1000.00 what are we looking at and he would not say. They proceeded to cut a hole in my ceiling and pull 2 baseboards and pull up and padding under the rug. The plumber then arrived and he cleared the line and told me I needed a pressure test. He billed me $394.27. The other group installed blowers and dehumidifiers and told me they would be back later in the week to check and remove. After 4 days of this nonstop noise of 4 motors running in my house. My husband called and said come remove and they said """"no"""". The blowers and dehumidifies did not work because the floor was wet under the shower. We hired another plumber with Harvey Baker Plumbing and they charged us $95.00 to pressure test and get us a quote to get the floor dry. Then $350 to remove the tile and some of the wall board and the liner to get to the sub-floor. Harvey's plumbing was great! They took care of what Roto-Rooter walked away from. Roto-Rooter sent me a letter stating I owed $5600.00 for the hole in my ceiling and the blower motors and dehumidifier. I want this type of outrageous pricing stopped. I could have rented the blowers and the dehumidifiers for less than $100.00 a day from Sunbelt rental. They used this minor emergency as an opportunity to over inflate the bill and take advance of a mother and daughter.

Called for advertised 24 hour service and spoke to """"call center"""". I was told that some one would get back to me. No one gave me the courtesy of a return phone call. After my third attempt, 3 hours later, I called another company. When I called the next day to speak to a manager, he was unapologetic and asked if I just called to complain. I've used this company in the past and was satisfied, but I will never call them again.

I would give zero but not an option. I have a active slab leak so I called rotor rooter. They sent a leak tech out he """"found"""" the leak and a while later another tech came out and dug a hole in my bathroom floor and nope no leak. The next day another leak detector guy came out and marked another spot the guy came out dug another hole and no leak the next day they brought in a third party from another plumbing company and he marked a third area. Then they decided well you should re-pipe. Okay I spent $499 for the leak detection and then $2600 for them to """"fix it"""" then they said well the re-pipe will be another $1500 WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME. They got it down to an additional $500 and then the guy said ok they will be here at 7am (on day 4 mind you of no water) well that guy never showed up so made the phone call and they said well before he can start you need to have a asbestos test done. Well no body ever called to tell us that. They are a shady company and the guys in the trucks throw random numbers at you thinking you will jump. Well not this house. After several phone calls for a few hours I did receive a full refund for services not rendered. And now I have a huge mess in my bath room I have to repair

After a slow start of getting Roto Rooter to our home, the technician, Richard, that was sent was very professional and was able to reconnect our kitchen sink plumbing in a timely manner.

My biggest problem was getting someone here. The dispatch kept telling me that all the jobs prior to mine were taking longer than expected. I started calling about 7PM. I was told someone would be here between 8 & 10 PM. I then received a call stating that is would be later. Finally at 1:30AM I received a call asking if I wanted to continue to wait or schedule in the morning. I said in the morning was good. he said someone would be here between 8 & 10AM. No one showed. I called at 11AM and was told that my appointment was scheduled for Friday Am between 8 & 10 AM. This was Sunday! I asked her if that made sense to her. Why would I call for sewer back up in my tub and wait for 5 more days to get it fixed? Also toilet would not flush. She then told me that someone would be here within the hour. No one showed! I called at 2PM and was told that things were really backed up but someone would come that day and fix the problem. The gentleman that came seemed to know what he was doing, I also had him install a new toilet for me. I asked him if he had been extremely busy and he said it had been a light day and they weren't that busy. I was shocked but kept silent. The only thing that I was not to happy about with his work is that he did clean up very good before he left. Other than that as far as workmanship was good. LM

Our washer drain was clogged & water drinking back into our house. We tried different drain cleaners with no luck. I called Roto-Rooter. They arrived within the stated time frame and had us fixed in no time. The tech cleared the washer drain and double checked our other drains. Great fast service I will use again.

I must say that when I needed my main sewer line snaked I thought it was going to be a huge deal and cost me a ton of money. Well, I will tell you that Roto-Rooter technician was awesome! He took the time to figure out my problem, he fixed the problem, and he provided me a very fair price for the job he did. I highly recommend this Roto-Rooter location for any snake plumbing job that needs to be done.
