Ron M.Robert Welch came out this morning. He called ahead 30 minutes before he got there. He explained exactly what he was going to do. Cleared the drain and told me what caused it. After he cleared the drain he ran the snake the other way and cleared another spot that could have caused another clog later. What I liked is he didn't just get the job done and leave. He went over an above to make sure everything was as good as it could be before leaving.
Krista W.I called Roto Rooter at 10:00 pm on a Tuesday night with a backed up shower, over flowing toilet, leaking sink, and frustrated husband . The customer rep, Debbie, was extremely nice and informative. She explained that the technician would be there within 2 hours, and even called every half hour or so to give updates on the service technician's schedule. Our service tech, Darryl, was extremely professional, informative, and arrived at 11:15 pm. He made a stressful night bearable. Darryl fixed the problem and was out by 12:00 am. Roto Rooter is a little pricey, but honestly given that it's 24 hour service, I expected it. I was very happy with the service on all counts, and my plumbing is working now. I would use them again in the future!
Jennifer M.I had a bad clog that I could not fix and had problems for years with this drain being slow and occasionally backing up. I gave up and I called other plumbers, was told an ungodly amount of money was needed to fix it and they wanted money to come give an estimate. I called Roto-Rooter and not only did they offer free estimates, but were there within an hour with no extra charge for a Sunday call. The journeyman was courteous and up front with costs and the price was ok. He not only fixed the sink better than we have ever seen it, but he cleaned the mess we made trying to fix it ourselves. After calling Benjamin Franklin and having the guy try to completely rip me off, I called roto rooter. The technician, Robert W., quickly figured out the problem and resolved it for us. He was honest, friendly, and did not charge us an arm and a leg. Very happy with the service and will never call BenjaminFranklin again.
Absolute worst customer service and service ever! I had scheduled services for Monday between 8-10am and had purposely taken off work to do so. It has now been 6 hours of waiting for someone to show up. We have called every hour since 10am to speak with someone and they have all been giving us the run-around saying that they were sending someone out. I finally got a hold of someone with authority from the office, and the """"best he could do"""" was 25% off the service and then he followed it up with """"we won't be able to have someone come out until 4pm"""". I will NEVER suggest or use Roto Rooter to anyone!
20 minutes before leaving for my daughter's high school chorus performance, both toilets and showers were backed up and wouldn't drain. (We live in a 60 year old house, and were NOT surprised!) On our way out the door we called the after hours number of another plumber, and left a message. An hour later we had not received a call back, so after the show we got online and found Roto-Rooter. I was pleased to see that they did not have an extra charge for after-hours, weekends, or holidays. The girl who answered the phone was very pleasant and accommodating, and sympathetic to our plight. She promised service between the time I called (it was 8:30 p.m.) and 11:30. I expected it to be a long night, but was happy that at least our toilets would be flushing that evening. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from the technician half an hour later saying he would be there in 30 minutes. He was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable, and took care of the problem in short time, even with all the quirks of our old house. He also caulked around one of our toilets, which had had a gap between it and the tile since it was installed a year ago. While I always feel like paying for plumbing repair is like literally throwing money down the drain, I am happy with our service and would recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone in need of plumbing service.

I called Monday for a pool deck drain estimate...it wasn't an emergency but, surprisingly they sent someone within 2 hrs and called a hr before to let me know they were on their way, but that is where I stopped being impressed. The representative that came to my home smelled as if he had smoked the whole way to my house with the windows up. He was rude, short in his response and didn't listen to the problem or to the project that was to be completed after. He clearly had his own agenda for up selling the severity of the issue. He was unprepared and didn't even measure the area to be retrofitted. He did call his supervisor and admitted that he couldn't estimate the job and another appointment was to be made. I was placed on speaker phone and an appointment was made for today Wed at 8am. At 820 I called to see if they forgot and was told it is a 2 hr window although they saw the note for 8am. I was put on hold and then transferred to someone else that couldn't give me information. I was told that the person to be coming out would be called and I would be called back shortly with an estimated time. At 10:45am I called again and cancelled the appointment. No call, no followup, no respect... NO JOB, NO REFERRAL. Update: I was called by the company after my post to follow up and apologize for my experience as well as offer a referral of another company that could help with my project. Thank you
My tub suddenly clogged up and I went online to schedule an appointment. Earliest possible was two hours from the time I scheduled and I thought that was great. Soon after scheduling I received a call saying the technician could be to my home earlier if I wanted. That was even better as I needed to get it resolved quickly. The technician was very informative and answered all questions I had. He also looked for the most inexpensive route to take to fix the issue. He was in and out within a couple of hours and left the bathroom clean and I couldn't even tell he was there. Very satisfied!
I am very disappointed with the customer service from Roto-Rooter. Both times a technician came out (one for an estimate, the other to do the work) they were 3-5 hours late. The work was for a rental property, so I approved the work over the phone and provided my credit card information in advance. However, the technician failed to check the system (or communicate with the office) so there was a last minute scramble to get ahold of me (while I was at work) to obtain payment information. The technician actually said he would leave and refused to do the work until he was paid! When I tried to follow up a bit later, and confirm that he had the payment information and the work was being done -- the dispatch actually disconnected the call and hung up on me! This company is very unprofessional; I definitely will find someone else to do plumbing work for me in the future!
