The pricing is outrageous! I was charged $400 for minor fix to restore water to my dishwasher, and remove a screw that was stuck in the garbage disposal. I hope management reads this and issues me a partial refund. The $99 fee to come out to my home, I can understand, and if there was major plumbing issues, then I could understand the $400, but to have spent more time writing the bill than the actual service, and have it come out to be $400. Absurd!

I had a clogged drain and couldn't get local plumbers to respond or call back so I called Roto Rooter. They sent a technician, Jacob, that day. Jacob was very professional, polite and friendly. He explained everything in great detail and the best part - he fixed my clogged drain!! He cleaned up after the job was complete. I definately recommend Roto Rooter and will definately call them again if needed.

In the first part of 2022, we had called roto-rooter for an emergency. Water was pouring into our basement from a service sink when we tried to run our washer machine, thinking there was a clog or something else in the line - we went looking for a plumber.

Being it was a holiday, roto-rooter was one of two plumbers to call back and since I had been bailing water for a few hours, anyone who might solve the issue was welcomed. The tech showed up, offered no helpful insights into what might be causing the backflow. It was just chance that another fella from the city, who had come by to shut off our water for us - kicked the gutter spouts out from their connection to our sewer line...

Only then did the water stop flowing.. but that didn't stop the tech from calling out another guy with a scope - who then told us that we ""roots"" in our line (which is very interesting because there are no nearby trees) and that we also did not have a sewer line access and they would need to do ""an emergency, sewer line exploration"" (Aka - they needed to dig up my driveway to find my sewer line) because they couldn't be bothered to find the sewer line access under the ice/snow. I was exhausted from bailing water for five hours at this point and believed the salesmen posed as a tech, so after signing up to have it done.. another plumber finally called back and as we explained the problem, he explained that the sewer access was probably closer to the street and it needed to be blown out hydraulically.

The very next morning I contacted Roto-rooter and told them that I would not be needing them to dig up my driveway for $7000+ dollars (which was the cost of them just to dig it up - it would not have covered any sort of ""repairs"" nor would it have covered me having it filled back in). After half-heartedly trying to get me not to back out by telling me they had pulled permits (lie, it was a holiday the day before, the day the contract was signed) the tech canceled the job. But not before the company had already billed the line of credit that they had ""helped"" me open before any work had been done and well within the 72 hour contract cancelation window per CT law. It was only because I had a nagging feeling about the tech's behavior that I called Synergy Bank and had a dispute put on the charge. I spent the next three months having the charge reversed. The company neither responded to my calls, nor Synergy Bank's inquiries. The whole thing was finally resolved when Roto-Rooter failed to respond to the dispute inquiry.

I would not recommend this company, at all. They will use a stressful situation to advance their own, unnecessary, 'services' and even if they appear ""cheap"", you'll end up paying in other ways. Go elsewhere.
