These folks did clear a drain line for us on a Saturday but they price gouged us at 5x what it normally costs (the service regularly runs $99 but they charged us $495!) and their technician threatened to ""leave in 5 minutes if the tenant was not able to get a hold of Property Management to collect payment"". Who treats people in need like that? No wonder they refused to quote it over the phone. They wanted to gouge us in the field. How unethical. Do not recommend and we definitely will not be using them again.

if i could rate a zero, I would. Do not work with this horrible company.
We had an appointment window today of 10am-2pm. When no one showed up nor called by 2pm, I called.
After being on hold for 5 minutes, I was told that the technician had called in sick that morning. When I asked why no one called us 4 hours earlier, I got no answer nor no apology.
Horrible customer service.

Writing this review as a warning to all consumers considering Roto Rooter - particularly during emergency situations. If you have Bob Ray assigned - do yourself a favor and find another plumber. This guy in an unscrupulous salesman who is only looking for people in dire situations to take advantage of.

We had both the toilets in our home backed up. Despite our attempt not to use them, Roto Rooter was the only one who could come out quickly to assess the issue. After a sewer scope, it was determined that we had a burst pipe. We were given a ridiculous bill of $16,000 to repair the issue. Because my wife and I both work from home, we decided we had no choice - we had to get this fixed asap. So we gave them a 50% deposit for work.

Long story short, while the excavation crew came out to fix the issue, they saw that a Fiber Optics conduit had bored through our sewer line. This seemed like great news - someone else would be responsible for repairing the damage. But Bob saw this as an opportunity to try and take advantage of an unfortunate situation. He mentioned that our pipes were damaged in multiple places and that we were responsible for the one without the fiber optic line going through. This was the first red flag of many.

I worked with Adams county to find out the Fiber Optics company that did the install on the line and reached out to them. They were incredibly professional and quick to send over a crew to assess the situation. They determined their line had caused damage to my sewer line and mentioned they would take responsibility for all of it - including the portion Bob had mentioned was our responsibility.

I called Bob to tell him the good news but he refused to accept that this company was responsible. Instead, he continued to pressure me to finish the job they had started, despite the Fiber optic company stating they would take care of all of the repairs. He was pressuring me to let him finish the job that day and not allow the Fiber company to do the work. I had to basically yell at him to tell him that he did not have my permission to continue anything until the Fiber company had completed their assessment.

Once a full assessment was completed by the fiber company, they confirmed the damage was their responsibility and stated they would handle all repairs and work with Roto Rooter to have them reimburse my deposit and pay them for their services rendered - which was basically just digging a relief hole. Despite all of this, Bob was uncooperative and refused to accept the fiber company would do the work.

He stopped by while the fiber company's excavation crew was finishing the repairs and told their foreman - ""You guys stole my job."" It's obvious Bob did not want this company to take responsibility, even if they had caused the damage - he would lose out on the opportunity to rip off homeowners in a dire situation.

That's not all. On top of all of this, even after he was told by the fiber company that they were handling the work, he attempted to charge my credit card for the full cost of the project. I luckily had locked my card so the charge was blocked. But Bob was trying to charge me $16,000 to dig a relief. That's literally all they did. How he has the gall to charge us when someone else did all of the work is beyond me.

This guy is a total crook and consumer deserve to know about his unsavory business practices. He should not have a job. Please do yourselves a favor and find a local plumber. I'm now dealing with issues to get my deposit back. What a nightmare.

While they fixed my problem quickly, my scheduling with Roto-Rooter was a nightmare. They said they would come 11-3 yesterday, didn't show up, then said a technician would arrive by 9 today, and after some back and forth, a guy finally came at noon. It was $260 to unclog the toilet and an estimate of $400 for a shower drain. Not sure what comparative prices are, but that seemed high to me.

Called for warranty work said be out on Wednesday 11:15 to 3: 15 12/29 /21. Got called on Wednesday saying the tech truck broke down and tech would try to be out Thursday 12/30/21 between 9AM and 1 PM. Received a call about 1PM saying tech is delayed. It is now 6PM no calls no tech no email.

Wow, I don't know if they sub out or what, but they have predatory pricing that I have a hard time wrapping my head around, how you could do that in good consciousness? These guys will absolutely take you for every last cent they can. Our renters had a slow backup in the bathtub, and called roto rooter in to take a look. The guy snaked two holes with a 25 ft snake, and then charged them $800 (actually $858) for labor. Are you kidding me? The effective bill rate for what worked out to maybe 20 minutes of easy labor is $2400 an hour. Must be nice. I have and could have done the exact same thing, it takes no time or effort, renters should have called me I know, didn't find out until after the fact. If you're looking for an honest plumber, look somewhere else.

Called for a back-up kitchen sink. Work took exactly 46 minutes including getting tools out of van and putting tools back in van. Charge $472. That is $615.65 per hour for one person. Even my best lawyers do not charge this exorbitant amount of money per hour. Will never call them again.

Called this Saturday morning to come fix a secondary waterline leak inside the house. Was told there would be a 2 to 4 hour window that a tech would be out to fix problem. 3 hours later I was called and told they are running behind, but as soon as a tech became available they'd send them our way, with a call ahead. No further notice was given and no tech arrived. We did receive an email that our appointment was successfully cancelled. I never cancelled the appointment and we never received service. Can't say these aren't hard times and business isn't flowing over for rescue-rooters, but our emergency fell on deaf ears. The problem has not been resolved and no further communication from rescue-rooters has been attempted. If you have an urgent plumbing fix that you're looking for, it's probably a safe bet to keep scrolling for a company that will not promise and not fulfill.

GARBAGE service that takes EONS to get a tech to you (it took 2 days even though they told us specific days and time) and then when techs finally do get to you, they OVER CHARGE INSANELY!!!!!!! BEWARE. I would say, GO FIND A DIFFERENT PLUMBER!

Had a main line suddenly totally occlude and called RR at 2 pm. Was told a tech would be here ""within 2 hours"". FOUR hours later, I called back. Was told it would be between ""6:45-7:45pm"". At 8:00 pm, I called again. Was told that ""hopefully"", within the hour. At TEN PM, I called yet again, to be told that there were a lot of main line clean outs today, and they wouldn't get to me for hours yet, or maybe tomorrow morning. Between 8-10am.

The reason I called them in the first place was the advertised ""Immediate Response"" in their ads. And now, at 10:15pm, I told them to cancel. I will call someone (anyone) else at 8am.

Not only did they NOT show up in 8 hours for a senior citizen who now has no plumbing, but not once did they call me to advise of the delays. I'd give zero stars if I could.
