called for an emergency service at 3:30pm on a Monday and was told they offered same day service and a free evaluation for city of Palm Desert. Waited several hours to be told at 8:30 they wouldnt be able to fix the problem same day, as they didn't have the parts needed. Then said they could come look at it for $79 service call but no guarantee they could do anything to repair same day. Meanwhile I'm without water. Not a good experience at all.

When I called needing service, I asked for two specific people I was told they would check their schedules and try to reach them. Then I was notified that someone was on their way. It was different people. Three men ended up at my house. They said they were going to work up a quote because it was multiple drains in the place that needed to be cleared and there was no clean out attached to my home. I assumed they were coming back with paperwork in writing, but they brought a tablet and spoke to myself and the homeowner on the phone and rattled off three plans for three prices, all of which were absolutely ridiculous. I was told to remove a toilet and snake the toilet and replace the toilet. It would be $800. They decided that I needed both toilets removed and snaked and if they were going to push out the stuff from the mainline that they unplugged from the house and that cost was $2800. They wanted almost 4000 to snake every drain in the house which ended up not being needed because after they got those to drain snakes everything around OK. But after they got the drain in the shower, bathroom clean that toilet taken care of they came in and said well we have more bad news. The flange is old and broken and we can't put the toilet back on there. It needs additional work they wanted 2000 more dollars I told them no and called my home warranty insurance a week later because of scheduling that plumber comes out and informs me that it's not only the flange that needs to be replaced but the subfloor which in a mobile home is particleboard, not plywood has disintegrated and also needs to be replaced and he can't fix it. Roto Rooter did not mention anything about the it has been 11 days since Roto Rooter was here and collected $2800 for me and I have yet to be given a receipt for the bill to know exactly what was done and have each thing itemized I called a week ago they said oh it takes a few days to get it processed more time went by. I called the supervisor who was in my home he said oh it takes up to a week I said well it didn't take you a week to collect my money I want my receipt. I also asked him to help me not feel like a fool because I am being told by three other plumbers if they could've done the job for around $500 not $2800 and he claimed that it was because it was a company that was national and they had a good reputation and that they had a guarantee behind the work I said oh so yeah, your price gouging me by 3000% because you've got a good reputation. I really don't feel any better about it. I really feel very foolish and I will never ever ever contact Roto Rooter again.

The $320 per hour plumber.

We had bought a faucet at Lowes and scheduled their installation. Unfortunately, their installation is tied to Angie's List, which means that you're at the mercy of somebody who isn't a professional plumber and can't be bothered to keep an appointment.

Unfortunately, we were desperate when we called Roto-Rooter in Palm Springs/Palm Desert. The ""Service Manager"" showed up first before the guy who ultimately did the work. The point of the service manager, meaning invoice maximization manager, showing up was to assess exactly how desperate I was and how deep my pockets were.

Our existing faucet was a day or two from falling off. We didn't have much choice. I was billed $395 for a faucet installation job that took an hour and 10 minutes.

Adding insult to injury, they walked across my yard, slightly trashing the rock landscaping, and I need to spend 5 minutes this weekend sweeping the rock back into place.

Also, they guy who replaced the faucet didn't do anything to protect my counters from getting scratched, and I had to spend over an hour buffing out the black scratches on my white quartz counters.

After the dust settled yesterday, it began to dawn on me that I'd been ripped off on price. I called Roto Rooter and complained. I heard back from Raul this morning.

Raul said ALL PLUMBERS cost $320 an hour these days. I asked him if he'd like me to mention that in a Yelp review. He didn't care.

Raul, do you care now that everyone knows you overbill your clients if you guys sense they're desperate enough?

Saul , Aaron , David, and the rest of the team were amazing. They responded in a timely manner in the middle of the night when I was home alone. They were very professional and kind. They called and checked in almost every day and also dealt with our insurance company as well. They went the extra mile and helped my husband with thing around the house that they didn't need to do. If we ever have another issue, we will definitely be using them again. Thank you again guys the Coachella Valley is in good hands with you and your team.

I had a toilet that kept running 20 minutes after it was flushed. Because it
was after 9PM, I thought I'd turn the water off and call a plumber in the
morning. But ... the to let continued to sound like it was running.

So, I called Roto Rooter and was told that a licensed plumber would be
out within a half hour.

Jason Broadhurst arrived, solved the problem and explained what to do
should this happpen again. He is a great combination of competence and
integrity.

saw that yard had already been probed to locate tank.
I told him I wanted him to try again and I would pay. he said reluctantly ""I will prob for a few minutes"". I said I will pay for an hour his reply is ""we don't do that"". I got upset and said then forget it if your only going to prob for a ""few minutes"". He said you can't talk to me like that and I said ""you don't want to prob"" and ""So why would I want you to try for a few minutes.
called the office in the meantime he knocks on door and will prob at an amount an hour. I said forget it. why would I want someone to work that doesn't want to. I said well obviously someone called you.

Because my experience with Roto-Rooter was less than satisfactory I wanted to share what I think is a fair, balanced review. At my home in Coachella Valley, one of the area drains on our patio backed up last winter during a heavy rain. I had a plumbing company come out and they spent a couple hours with their equipment trying unsuccessfully to clear the drain for which they charged me $540. After someone suggested to me that I should call Roto-Rooter, I did. They sent a tech out who after assessing the situation said that the drains needed to be cleared from their distal terminus which he could not locate. He instructed me to find the terminus and reschedule an appointment both of which I did. On the new appointment, in conflict with the assessment of the first technician, the second technician said that they needed to try to clear the drains from the patio (the approach taken unsuccessfully by the prior pluming company). They said it would cost $2,450 but if they couldn't clear the drain they would ""consider"" reducing the charge to $1650. While I was aghast at these prices, I reluctantly signed because I have driven 120 miles for this appointment scheduled weeks in advance. To shorten the story, Roto-Rooter did exactly what the prior company had done with exactly the same result ... nothing. The techs worked 2.5 hours on a hot day, but the charge of $2,450 was clearly excessive especially in view of the communication that no clearance would result in a lesser charge. The takeaways for me are that RotoRooter is very, very expensive, and really had no capability beyond what the local plumbing company provided at a fraction of the cost.

BEWARE

We paid $789 dollars to snake two toilets at 7pm at night. It took them 15 minutes once they were at the house.
