Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Because my experience with Roto-Rooter was less than satisfactory I wanted to share what I think is a fair, balanced review. At my home in Coachella Valley, one of the area drains on our patio backed up last winter during a heavy rain. I had a plumbing company come out and they spent a couple hours with their equipment trying unsuccessfully to clear the drain for which they charged me $540. After someone suggested to me that I should call Roto-Rooter, I did. They sent a tech out who after assessing the situation said that the drains needed to be cleared from their distal terminus which he could not locate. He instructed me to find the terminus and reschedule an appointment both of which I did. On the new appointment, in conflict with the assessment of the first technician, the second technician said that they needed to try to clear the drains from the patio (the approach taken unsuccessfully by the prior pluming company). They said it would cost $2,450 but if they couldn't clear the drain they would ""consider"" reducing the charge to $1650. While I was aghast at these prices, I reluctantly signed because I have driven 120 miles for this appointment scheduled weeks in advance. To shorten the story, Roto-Rooter did exactly what the prior company had done with exactly the same result ... nothing. The techs worked 2.5 hours on a hot day, but the charge of $2,450 was clearly excessive especially in view of the communication that no clearance would result in a lesser charge. The takeaways for me are that RotoRooter is very, very expensive, and really had no capability beyond what the local plumbing company provided at a fraction of the cost.

We paid $789 dollars to snake two toilets at 7pm at night. It took them 15 minutes once they were at the house.

I have a seasonal home in La Quinta and due to obvious circumstances have not been able to attend to maintenance. I needed a plumber and I needed a plumber fast to work on a Saturday. I was referred to a Roto Rooter by a neighbor. I called them before noon and they were able to send a plumber to my house by mid afternoon. The job was considerably more complicated than was first anticipated but they were able to address all of the issues with the installation of my new washing machine. Technician RAFAEL was fantastic. He was prompt professional and got the job done. Would definitely recommend.

Had another company in that was a big scam. Although reluctant to call based on reviews, they were not in our area. Estimate was no charge so I had the service man come in. What a pleasant surprise. Victor was on time, neat and clean and covered all the areas in which he worked. Told me the price to clean out the drains was $275 and another $50 to do the kitchen drain out. My research indicated that it was a far price and I told him to proceed. He was done in 1 hr. and cleaned out the drains all the way. What a relief.

Made an appointment one week ahead of time, and they never showed up. Have tried calling multiple times and no answer. Now we are a week behind to try to solve our problem.

Had a broken sewer pipe outside my master bedroom. They spent 4 hours investigating the problem and 4 hours fixing it. They installed maybe 5' of pipe and a new clean-out drain. Charge...$7,000.00.

These guys are a total rip-off. If you can wait which unfortunately I could not...House full of guests, use someone else.

Have a nice home so they thought they could rip me oFf. Call someone else when you need help.
