Roto-Rooter team replaced the blocked sewer line of our home in La Jolla. They were highly experienced and did an excellent job.
We were particularly impressed by the professional services provided by Philip Spear, the QualityAssurance Specialist, and Ivan, who did the superb job of checking and replacing the sewer line in the backyard.
We would recommend them without hesitation.

Purchased a home in November and thought it only had a leaky faucet. After having two separate plumbers to work on leaks, and drain blockage, I called Roto-rooter. Philip arrived
and after discussing what I needed, he began work..Replaced both valve assemblies on our
old fixtures. Had to use both blades and hydro jets to clear heavily blocked roots in line. By
using the camera, learned the blockage was from trees on the County drain.Told they would
contact County. County came and spoke to me, said they would investigate. Next day they

Roto Rooter - I will keep this review short. It is really a warning. Roto Rooter had given me a bid to reline my sewer pipes. $5500. for the area from my sidewalk to the city sewer line. This is not allowed in Santee. The bid also included exposing 2 clean outs. I

I had no idea it was preposterous and foolish to place clean outs within 10' of each other.

Beware.

It went to the Water District to confirm the necessity of this job. Roto Rooter will take advantage of Senior Women.

I called the main number in San Diego and asked for someone to come out to fix a clogged kitchen sink. The woman on the phone said the technician would be here in an hour or two and would call before coming. I asked for an approximate price and was told the estimate is free but that she couldn't tell me until he saw the sink. No call, but he arrived within the time frame given. After a few minutes he gave me a $229.00 estimate. Unbelievable!!! This problem was fixed by a reasonable plumber who charged me $60.00!

I admit they are fast response but unfortunately they are double price. They came to my house to change a faucet and they said it will take 2 hours working also need to open a small hole in the wall and it will cost $350, i told the guy thanks I don't want to do it. I contacted another company they came and did exactly same work for $135 only

We called the main San Diego dispatch to have someone come out and take a look and fix a clogged shower drain. We were getting a second opinion after receiving terrible service from another company.

Zac Davey was the Roto Rooter plumber that came to our place and he was amazing! He was clear and concise and took the time to explain everything to us. After taking the proper amount of time on the clog he was able to fix it.

We will only recommend and use Roto Rooter going forward. Such a great experience!

I discourage anyone from dealing with this firm. In my opinion they will take advantage of your situation and if you are in distress they will gouge you for services that you don't need at that moment .For a backed up shower the technician claimed he couldn't clear the blockage unless he locates a cleanout drain so he claimed that I needed that service in spite of the fact that any qualified tech could have handled the job. They quoted the job for a total of $2600 for a work that should have cost a fraction of the charge in the first place . I agreed to it because I was in distress and they knew that I had to have the problem solved .
After investigating the predicament that I was placed in I realized that I didn't need the work performed and I was gouged and overcharged to the tune of no less than $1400 for the services rendered.
I disputed the charge when their manager was informed that I was dissatisfied with the predatory practices that they engaged in and appealed to his sense of fairness .
That is when he said that the charge should have included another service that they perform and that it was not rendered and they can come back and perform it or refund me $400 .
When I disputed my charge with AM EX they denied our conversation and claimed they have an ironclad contract and they are unwilling to do any adjustment whatsoever .

So I was out of luck. YOU BE THE JUDGE.

Prompt, honest and good work. The technician they sent both times, Anthony was very friendly. He came to unclog my kitchen sink. I asked him to look at my tub as well. He was going to snake it as it was draining very slowly. It turned out to be a broken bar of soap clogging the drain. He could have taken advantage and I would have had no idea. But he told me right away what the real issue was. I will use this company from now on and specifically request Anthony!
