I needed about a 40 foot cast iron pipe replaced under my driveway and garage. RotoRooter charged over $600 to pull up a toilet so they could get their camera through the pipes; and then came back with a bid of a bit over $29,800. I called Wizard Plumbing for a second bid - they had no problem getting their camera through the regular house cleanout pipes (for free - no charge), and came back with a bid of $9000. Needless to say, I used Wizard - and was very happy with the timeliness, quality and price of their work. I was really shocked with the price difference, and the need to charge me to pull up a toilet - seems like almost a scam, that I paid over $600 to get a new wax seal for a toilet that really didn't need one.

I found another licensed plumber in the area who charged $300 to change a p-trap. And it took him 30 minutes to do the job.

GAUGED - I needed a simple drain snake only 30 minutes only - $449. Outrageous. They showed up end of day after their window and did not quote their price ahead of time or I would never have agreed... just showed up and said it was their minimum. Avoid.

Called them out for a main sewer line clearing. $450 dollars! (Real plumbers charge between $200 and $300.) They said it was done even though some of the drains still weren't open. When I asked about the other drains he said it was a separate issue and would be another $450 to look.

The real plumber just left. There was a blockage that Roto Rooter completely missed called a soft blockage.

Run as fast as you can away from these people!

Clogged sewage in front of my house outside. I called to 2 plumbers. One said ""I am busy. Call to another Plumber"". Another said, ""I am available 2 days later"".

Then I visited Roto Rooter website and 'schedule appointment online' at 2pm. I got text message and email at 3pm. These said that the technician is on the way and will arrive 4pm-8pm.

2 Technicians came to my home at 4:15pm. They explained kindly and started working immediately. It took 30 min and all clean up. They also put the camera inside the pipe to check. They have own water tank and they used their water, not my water tap.

The price is $450. Some reviewers said it is expensive. Actually, I have the same problem every summer and called several plumbers. All the plumbers charged about $400. Comparing with that, it may be expensive but Roto Rooter guarantees 6 months. It may not be bad.

very very very expensive. Technician was very nice and seemed knowledgable but $450.00 to snake a drain that was backing up. Unfortunately they won't even give you a rough estimate range over the phone. You can say no once you get the cost onsite. Clearly we did. But it wastes time having to start again with calling out another company. Ended up getting it done for $100 and from the time he rang our doorbell to the he left was 15mins. $450 for 15mins work is more than a surgeon! Yikes

Don't even bother unless you want to get ripped off! Plumber was late. I did receive a courtesy call and the whole experience leading up to the visit was great and professional. However, when it came to the visit. It was for my mother who is elderly. All she needs done is to have a faucet and garbage disposer unit that we purchased to be installed. It should take no more than 45 mins of work tops. The plumber quoted her $1000. Thank goodness my mother called me! I asked the plumber how long it would take and he said approximately 90 mins. Then I asked how much is the labor charge and what is the break down? He said that's not how it's calculated and it's quoted ""by the job"" or in other words whatever price He feels he can get away with and take advantage of the elderly! Lastly, when I said over the phone ""thanks for your time but we are not interested."" He said he would discount the quote $250. Even more proof the quote he came up with was BS and still the quote would be $750! LOL

They arrived on time and the tech did the work satisfactorily and was courteous - but way overpriced. They initially quoted my $468 to unclog a sewer line but I explained our difficult situation right now due to the pandemic and they agreed to $350. Still seemed exorbitantly expensive for 20-25 minutes work.

Stay away from these guys ! We had a clogged pipe, they ask to send a camera to check exactly where it was. Unfortunately the they were not able to use the camera because of a Y pipe 2 feet from the clean-out. Despite that they still charged $350 for the camera.... Since the camera didn't work they came up with and estimate close to $4000. I told them I was not interested but they still asked me to pay for the camera they didn't use, just a scam. I had to pay or the guy didn't want to leave. I ended it up doing the job with a local guy for less than $400.
