My mother owns a small 6 room motel. A sink in one of the rooms became plugged up. Unfortunately I wasn't with her at the time so she made the mistake of calling this business. She was told over the phone that the charge to come out would be $270.00 so she accepted those terms as she was desperate to get her tenants sink fixed. To make a long story short, the plumber came out and spent about 45 minutes in the room and charged her $390.00! Personally I consider this elder abuse! This very same company came out a year ago to snake the sewer line, wish she had remembered that. Luckily I was with my mom this time as I was caring for her after surgery. In any case, the plumber showed up, but sat in his truck for a full 15 minutes in the parking lot. Yes we timed him. He then did the job and when he was done he spent nearly a half hour cleaning his equipment with my mothers hose and water! He then presented me with a bill for $530.00. I asked him why he added so much on, he explained that it took him more than an hour. I told him that we noticed that he sat in his truck for quite awhile after he arrived and I didn't think we should have to pay for the time and water he used to clean his equipment. He became belligerent going on about ""not dealing with people like you."" I was actually afraid at that point, but he ended up taking off the extra charge and left. The mess he left for my husband to clean up was absolutely disgusting! Still looking for an honest plumbing service, this was just sad.

So I am selling my house and the inspector found the wax ring on the toilet was bad. Called them out for just a wax ring so I could get a receipt for proof that I fixed it. The technician quoted me $335 dollars for labor and $20 for the ring. $355 dollars to lift a toilet up and set it back down. What a joke. I'm sure this company is taking advantage of folks who don't know otherwise.

We had a plugged bathtub drain. Called them on Sunday for help. They answered the phone and put my husband on hold. After awhile the phone started ringing and no one answered. He decided to use the online schedule and we were supposed to get an email confirmation within the hour. NOTHING! So he gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried online scheduling again, we asked for morning appointment. Got an email the next day saying they would be here between 4 - 6pm. We called someone else!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Called for service yesterday, scheduled an appointment with them to come out to clear two stopped toilets...I have yet to hear from them! NO SHOW, NO CALL!! Unreliable and Unprofessional! Don't waste your time! Found another company today who was prompt, professional, and so reasonable that we tipped them $100.00!!!

In May, I called Roto-Rooter for a shower leak. $750+ and another $350 for the ceiling repair. Now in August, the ceiling is staining beyond where the ceiling was primed with Kilz. Roto-Rooter comes back out and says it's residual for the May leak and to wait a month to see if it gets worse, but really to run out their guarantee. The next day, my wife is in the shower, I'm downstairs and I can hear water hitting the ceiling. The next day, another Roto-Rooter guy comes out, see where water has hit the sewer line, and without even turning on the shower, he changes the wax ring and charges me another $540. The wife gets home and takes a shower and water pours out from the hole in the ceiling. Again, Roto-Rooter comes out. I ask for credit for the unnecessary wax ring job, the Roto-Rooter employee says, ""I don't work for free."" I told him I didn't think I should pay for their poor guess work. He said he work ask his boss and contact me the next day. Still haven't heard back. Avoid this company at all costs.

Horrible customer service from Mike, who said he was the owner. Had appointment set for a leak in an apartment building I own, for yesterday 3-5pm. Plumber called an hour later at 6pm to say he'd be there in an hour at 7pm (2hrs late). Then called back to reschedule for the next day stating he just finished a sewer job and was too dirty to go into my tenants apartments. The next day he called on his way there to say it would be $500 to run the leak detection test. This was disappointing because when I originally set the appointment I was told they would give me a free estimate and if I decided to move forward with the repair they would give me an estimate for the work. (This $500 was not to do the repair but needed to be paid just to get an estimate.) I would have paid for the work had I known in advance of their pricing. I own several buildings and have no issues paying for repairs and service. However, Mikes bad attitude was unacceptable. He yelled and spoke over me instead of listening and valuing my business. I felt disrespected. I explained to Mike, that with COVID 19 concerns, they shouldn't have scheduled a plumber to go from a sewer job...into tenant occupied apartments for the very next job. It's unsanitary and not safe! Once they knew the plumber was going to be 2+ hours late and involved with a sewer repair, they should have sent out another plumber. Furthermore, they need to be transparent with pricing. He yelled telling stating he disagreed with me and not to tell him how to run his business. He didn't get it. The owner takes no responsibility and argued back and forth with me. Doesn't know how to effectively communicate to resolve customer issues. Needless to say, I canceled the appointment. This is NOT a company with transparent pricing and the owner has terrible customer service.

I'd recommend taking your business and hard earned money elsewhere to a company that values your business, Safety and time.

One star. Rarely do I give out 1 Star. But when they charge $524 for a rotor rooting plumbing service. Then 2 weeks later it happens again. You call them, they ask for another $524 plus $220 for a camera to be ran through your plumbing pipes. Overall, that's a total of $744 on top of the $524 spent two weeks ago. They won't guarantee their services in order to ask their hand out for more money. They also tell you lies like there's lippage in your pipe which could be made up. How would you know that? Did you actually run a camera down there? No you didn't. You did that to charge me $524 again! I do not recommend this place. Also during a pandemic when money is low, they instead want to rob you instead of fixing the plumbing problem you paid them for initially. When you call the main number to ask for pricing. They don't tell you over the phone. Instead they send someone to your house, then they ""surprise"" you with the high dollar value it will cost to drain the line. Even when you mention there's a $40 off coupon on their website, they won't accept it unless you PRINT it out. Who prints out coupons these days? These days, it's show me on your phone and I'll honor it. Let me tell you - they sure know how to ""build relationships"". Send your business elsewhere please.

Very disappointed in the lack of communication with this company. I called and requested a bid for a p-trap leak. After scheduling at least two appointments a technician finally shows up. I was charged a diagnostic fee after I already knew the problem. If I had been informed of a diagnostic fee I wouldn't have proceeded with the appointment. I've called and talked to several employees and everyone has the same story no manager available to speak with just a general email. Wowww never again Roto rooter.

I'm starting with this Yelp review and will file complaint with Better Business Bureau next. Roto-Rooter has a very deceptive practice. I called them around 7 pm January 11 regarding a clogged sink. I asked numerous times how much do you charge and the person over the phone stated the technician would discuss. Once he got there he stated he was going to charge $350 to unclog sink. I declined. Then he told me it would be $135 for the after hour visit. I told hi I had no idea they charge that much just to come out after hours. Few days later I spoke with supervisor named Carlos asking him to listen to the call to hear me ask numerous times about pricing. He did research and left me a voicemail 1/23/20 stating I would receive a refund of $135. I've called numerous times and have received different reasons. The latest being the credit to my card didn't happen so they are mailing me a check. Just called again and apparently Carlos no longer works for company and the person I just spoke with named ""Mike"" stated they don't refund even though I have a voicemail message from past employee Carlos stating a refund would be applied. This is very deceptive and very misleading especially since you advertise free estimates. I'm still waiting for my refund so I can put this behind me.

Horrible service. Rep suggested service he knew wouldn't work and after 2 mins declared it wouldn't work, but charged hundreds of dollars for. Management was of no help. Tried to use a different location, because of the bad reviews, it service area franchise rules. Horrible, horrible.
